To be fair, no disrespect intended, looking back at past heroes...it's in the past. The game was different then. Should honor those guys for their past accomplishments, but you should look to folks in the community now to find those that are fighting the good fight now...

That assumes there are good fights to be had. Speaking for myself it's just as much about how the meta game play has changed (not that there weren't issues in the past) as it is missing fighting w/and against others. PvP is just not nearly as fun anymore regardless of how a match ends.

Anyway good to see some friendly banter in this thread. Hopefully there will be some TD style interfleet in near future.... Just an idea.

Remember everyone loses. While winning is great, you have to lose too. And you will. Everyone does. Don't make excuses to the other team for your team losing and don't don't let winning go to your head.
Have some integrity if you do a private match. Don't make up wild untrue stories about other people. Doing so hurts what this tiny community wants. FUN!

I know you meant what 5 people but here are the builds for my ultimate team.
1. Unmovable Object or Healer http://skillplanner.stoacademy.com/?build=5man1_0
Doffs are 3 VR Maintenance Engineer + healing when using EPtA and 3 VR Damage Control Engineer to reduce EPtX cool downs.
Now for tactics:
Unmovable Object will give APD and TT to whoever is being focused on. Also hand out ST if thing 2 can?t. if for some odd reason the other team wants to waste damage on the healer use APD and FBP, they won?t do it again. try to save the hyper flux thing.
Pyro will try to set everyone on fire with plasma. By doing this I will force the other team to use HE more and hopefully start a pattern of healing that the Nightmare can watch for. try to save the hyper flux thing.
Thing 1 and Thing 2 are meant to make the other teams healer a living hell. First power drain of the aux system to keep heals weak. Than using only hull damage type weapons to make the healer use all their hull heals on their self. This will mean they will have to try to hull heal their self and shield heal other which makes the chance of mistakes higher.
Also Thing 1 and 2 will work as a sub team and call their own targets.
Nightmare will hide in cloak watching for mistakes and making the other team fearful of when they might decloak. Nightmare will need healing support the most. Before they decloak they will call first and second target. The first one they need to kill by their self, Unmovable Object and Pyro will focus fire on the second target to soften them and right when the first target dies they will both fire their hyper flux thing.

I was fortuitous a few times in the history of the game. Critz did have pretty much a few perfect team make ups, the BOP team I listed is almost a WOG lineup as well. We never had keg as he swore off fleets by that point.. but I do remember playing with that exact team a few times and it was magic as well.
Your right though I should dream up some more less likely dream teams. lol

I'm going to make minor suggestion from personal experience. That said, I love the initiative and presentation.
3xMaint Eng (aux doffs) isn't the end all be all. Also you assume everyone will have 6 doff slots and the ability for VRs. Blues work in place of them. The buff from them is good but not really a game changer. 2 R's or VR's is fine if the build permits.
3xDMG control (eptX) doffs isn't needed. 1 DMG ctrl is fine.... At least in CC. 2-3 is a bit more reliable but you should never depend on a chance ability anyway. And using 3 slots to get almost perfect synergy isn't exactly a selling point, IMO. Lots that can be done with 1 or 2 of those slots in place. Not relying on something that is a absolute chance that requires such a high investment is better, IMO. Then again, I suck because of that mindset.
The torp stuff I don't have any knowledge on beyond old reliable HY/TS as it comes up. But if I recall the doffs it's a chance proc so it would be one I would, personally, not use unless it was a ship specializing in TORPs only and was a Brel or T'Varo.

yes I only use 2 VR on the EPtX system and 3 green + healing (I do now have one VR and 2 Blue but haven't used them yet)
my Tac toon use the torpedo like just missing some rep bonuses and good gear and it works very well. 3 doff will keep 3 launcher going almost no stop. in fact if you have 4 the 4th won't always fire. and it is really hard to kill that toon with maxed out Aux power.
