Regarding snow weapons - what's the reason Hail is being nerfed? It's basically a short range version of Flurry. I hope the damge output won't be decreased significantly.

Ohhh, finally! Now my roleplayer part doesn't have to gripe each time I had to reassign them! Thanks!

Why is <insert my favorite snowball weapon> being nerfed?
Because we screwed up a little when we launched them. After plugging them all into a fancy spreadsheet that spit out their exact raw damage magnitudes per second, when taking into account everything from animations, firing cycles, ranges, AOE potential, and max # of targets, and more, we saw a few discrepancies that deserved a nudge in one direction or another, so that players that preferred using a specific weapon for aesthetic reasons weren't receiving the short end of the stick, mechanically speaking.
None of these changes are drastic. I didn't even really intend for the above notes to be seen by players as you honestly aren't likely to even notice (they were for QA's benefit). Just go have fun. This isn't really going to change anything.

Allow me to explain something so you can understand this in the future. Most serious game players, run numbers on their DPS. Ground and Space. So your above comment means you approve of stealth nerfs what WOULD be noticed. Cutting affected targets in half would 100% be noticed by anyone using the blower.
There is nothing in a game that upsets players more then nerfs that are not explained or stated. Expectantly on equipment that was requires someone to grind to get them. So keep that in mind when you think about not publishing notes about nerfs.
BTW, I really hope you know this game has a SOLID reputation on releasing things that have "slight miscalculations".
Infact my entire fleet of now 350 members strong ( 60 daily players that spend real money in the game) have a motto. NEVER buy anything with in the first 30 days of its release. Because it is GTD to be nerfed in some form or function.
You guys either need a better test group, developers that play the game more, or better spread sheet.
It's either that or you release stuff OP all the time on purpose just get the suckers to buy it so you can nerf it later and release the next OP thing so they can run to buy that.

If you were talking about a Lock Box Ship, or a new fancy mission reward weapon, or some sort of crafted set piece... sure, I hear ya, and generally agree with where you're coming from.
Here? It's a snowball fight, man. Just chill. (pun kinda intended)

I still fail to see why hail itself needs to be nerfed... or The Big one. The area wide attack barely made up for the rather low damage it put out anyways.

Much like Bort, I understand that angle - but why is there a need to do it for every single aspect? The Winter Event is meant to be fun, after all.
Also, on a side note, not everyone has unexplained/unstated nerfs on their 'most hated' list Yes seriously

Lock box, Lobi, Zen, or fancy bobble you need to grind for. It's the same thing. Your problem trends through out the game. Check my postings, I don't post at all of them. If I did i would have hundreds and hundreds of postings.
I find it rather amazing that almost every item released needs several "tweeks" to fuction and DPS. I have played *********, WOW, SWOR, BSG, and a few others. And this only game requires recalculations on every item. Some noted, some not... it is never about if the nerf is coming but when.
I am not blowing a fit here, nor am I overheating. I am just stating a fact. You need a better beta test... Across the board.

If its just a "snowball fight" then why even bother with a balance pass to begin with?
What that indicates to me is that its not "just a snowball fight" because clearly its not being taken as such since there is the need to balance them ...
So everybody can have fun in slightly longer snow ball fights. 2 min till the Boss appears and 30 seconds of him being around is just way to short.

This times every number in existence.
Last year with the only snow weapons + snowballs we had, it took us a while to take the snow army down. This year it seems like the snowmen have become bad cannon fodder. I like these changes and can't wait to see how much of a difference this makes on Holodeck.
...talking to players is like being a mall Santa. Everyone immediately wants to tell you all of the things they want, and you are absolutely powerless to deliver 99% of them.

Sigh, it works, but like all previous fixes it is a patch that covers a symptom but doesn't address the underlying bug that it is still there and has been around since the beta of LOR. Bug Report #43570, if you need to know, is what was causing this problem along with several others, some still unfixed.
I hope that wasn't a typo and you meant 'decreased'. I love this weapon but the primary attack requires shooting a snowman about 4-6 times to defeat it. Unlike my "Avalanche" weapons I bought last year. The primary attack on that can take out snowmen in 1-2 hits. I can understand the nerf on how many max targets the secondary attack can hit, but the secondary attack really doesn't need a damage increase on "The Big One" since it can take out a snowman in 1 shot.
Also, ship stations, away team stations, and doff department heads, were all connected and resetting. If a station or more, or department head, was messed up, it would be messed up for all of them until you clicked a ship/away team station to have it reset itself. Did you fix the ship and away team stations as well, or did fixing the department heads resetting take care of all of it? One can only hope.
I am just stating a fact. You need a better beta test... Across the board.
Remember the nerf notes was only there for QA's benefit. that means that qa relies on the same patch notes we do and the devs probably stealth nerf them as well.

Would be nice if they fix the even older character info bug where when you click on another player and look at their info (by clicking the little "i" icon next to their portrait), either much of the character information never appears, or it shows partial info, and even then, it often shows the name of their shuttle when in fact they're in their starship. This has persisted since Season 6, and I reported it many times.
Frankly, I'm amazed they even took the time to fix the department heads glitches. Don't suppose this means they'll also fix boffs getting removed out of all boff slots after playing certain missions (i.e. Mine Trap), or coming up with a fix to power trays getting messed up after changing ships and/or retraining boff skills...
1. I'm really thrilled to see some long term annoying bugs starting to get addressed. In fact it seems lately that Cryptic is doing a better job overall with bugs and other fixes, and I hope to see this trend continue.
2. Please continue to nerf and make other balance adjustments needed to the game as the team sees fit, despite the protests from some. I appreciate a more balanced and fun game. As an Avalanche fan I'm hoping to actually be able to shoot stuff sometimes now before it dies, because that would be more fun then targeting something and having it die to faster winter weapons while mine it firing, only to get that annoying error sound.

Can we get damage and DPS stats for the snow guns and mortar? They aren't listed in the tooltips.

Does this fix the problem for both "Exchange sale expired" and "Item sold in the Exchange"?
People griped. Especially how so many were wiping the snowman legion right at the start of the event with the Snowblower.
That's what multiple instances are for... Not to mention the group respawns and few seem to know about it.

OMG... You mean we don't have to keep reassigning the department heads anymore???? WOO HOO!
