100% Positive Kdf Thread :)

samt1996samt1996 Member Posts: 2,856 Arc User
So i thought the KDF players would like an opportunity to thank Cryptic for all the wonderful additions they've added to the faction over the last year! Granted it may have been slow in coming but i believe their work has been admirable and they deserve some positive feedback!

SIDE NOTE: This thread is for glass-half-full people ONLY if you have something negative to say then go to the Klingon Fleetyards section where no one can hear!

Lets have a brief recap shall we!

-Full Faction
-New Tutorial
-Voice Over Work by MICHAEL DORN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-New ship coming with 5 weapon slots!
-New Missions
-Raider Mechanics for KDF exclusive Birds-of-prey

So things seem pretty good!

I would urge you to be happy so far and wait in anticipation for all the great additions Cryptic is adding! And remember change takes time, don't expect a perfect game/faction over night!

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT!!!

Thanks for all the cool Gorn ships the KDF has (even if they all cost money, I have them all by the way.)

Ugh, I guess that wasn't so hard.
The dress is gold and white. Over 70% people says so. When viewed from a certain screen angle it appears blue and black. The dress displayed on amazon is a blue and black dress, but it's not the same dress in the picture. If you're seeing blue & black you're slightly colored blind. A normal upright screen = white and gold.

I recently started a new KDF toon and played her from 1-50 and really enjoyed the experience. Using her as my primary end-game toon now. This is my fourth KDF toon, the others were all started at various times throughout the game's history and the faction has never before felt this complete. I think we're sitting pretty good.

Not really in the spirit of the whole "constructive criticism" thing, not to mention the fact that everything you listed in the OP might not have happened had said people not "bitched" to Cryptic about the lack of attention that the KDF was getting.

That being said, us KDF players should be happy that things are going well, and not moaning that the Feds have got another new ship every time one comes out.

That also being said, it's not perfect. There are plenty of minor issues that seem to have gone unfixed for a long, long time. I'm pretty happy about the attention the KDF is receiving, as long as it continues to receive it in the future.

Klingon players have access to one of the sweetest weapons in the game:
    http://sto.gamepedia.com/Hirogen_Tetryon_Blast_Rifle

I would love to gain access to it for my Federation characters. Perhaps a trade for this weapon: http://sto.gamepedia.com/Overcharged_Plasma_Sniper_Rifle
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

KDF has some really nice stuff: uniforms, ships (Klingon and other species), weapons, mission story chains, a bunch of things.

I'm stoked on the KDF love this year and will be happy to buy the Mogh when it comes out with a battle cloak *fingers crossed*. Well I'll buy it even if it doesn't get a battle cloak. :D

I created my first KDF when I hit the level required on the Federation. At that time we didn't have a new missions to get you started. I had nothing but lots of fun with my mix crew. You can get away doing things where Federation "standards" will come into play. Plus I try to get into the role as well, which helps out as well. Above all you can't help but have fun hacking into all kinds of enemies with the Bat'leth. From Human to Borg they all fell to my blade.

Since they gave new missions to help out leveling up, and add some ships here and there. There is a lot more to have fun with. This is why I created my 2nd KDF to have fun with.

Regular cloak. Saw the fleet version's stats early. Though, a battle cloak would be awesome, and make me forget about its bad looks.

Speaking of which, didn't the Bortas (the 2nd anniversary version) come out with a battle cloak?

I've been playing STO pretty much since the beginning and never played a Klingon until this year. I now have two and a Klingon allied Reman and am very happy with things... It's like playing a whole new game after having 12 fed toons. I was never interested in the faction before because of the lack of story. If Cryptic can just get more people to see the value in playing as a Klingon we can get some people into those queues and I think we will see that more with the upcoming additions.

Thanks for all the amazing new additions in 2013. You can really see improvement in the quality of whats been put out there and the sheer volume of added content this year.

    Alright... lets be positive.

Dev love has been nice. And I don't mean ships. A faction is more than ships. It is missions, art, environment, etc. I only play KDF and I've only started playing with LoR. But I was hooked from the start. I found being Fed later on to be dreary, and the type of missions we do don't seem of the Fed sort.

So yes, I am actually enjoying things. And what I see taking place at the moment makes me glad.

I have a main char whois a fed sci admiral and I have been tyring to help the Klingons for quite some time now healing them every time I see them in game and all..It just didn't seem right to see the Klingons struggle with ships and gear that wasn't up to par..I have always felt that Klingons deserved better..so I have felt it was my duty to help them as much as possible..My char is Bellus Natura and I drive a Tholian Recluse...I would like to see the Klingons and the Federation be friends as they should be...now the klingons can have what the feds have..We can be allies against the voths and any other enemies ..and fight them together..Qapla! :)

I'm thankful for the Dyson Gear our faction, along with the others, gets access to.

The Experimental Proton Rifle is my favourite, along with the energy whip, is my favourite weapon so far in the game, its powerful and the having two different secondary fire modes depending on target exposer is cool as is the set bonuses.

Tommorrow I'll have the Dyson Stabilizing Field Warpcore which will give me Proton Barrage.

    Also thankful for Dorn's VO.

And and that we're getting a free C-Store starter BoP.

KDF is the only faction to have a unique voice actor from the shows. I think that is pretty cool.

Everyone gets to hear Spock and Tasha, they don't count.

I played a klink toon for 5 levels pre-launch and never touched it again, when rommies came out I took my rommie to klink side - ended up making three klink toons and buying several ships with $$ as I had spent all my stipend build up on my feds...in short, I like the new Klink's... G.G. Cryptic!

They did an amazing job on the KDF. Dorne VO, more missions, more ships...
KDF always complain, but they really have a lot of good stuff.

Yes, they have less costumes, and ships than Fed. That's true. I'll be flamed, but it's normal. The Feds always were the star of the show. KDF and Rom always were a secondary faction. They never made several season about some Klingon captain, they did about Kirk, Picard, Janeway...
Doesn't mean more costumes and ships would hurt. 1 costume is certainly not enough.

Just do the first feds mission. Scan this, kill everything in the mining station, defend for 2m. Yawn. The KDF/Rom storyline is so much better. They have the same good missions, and a lot of unique and awesome missions.

But I guess the KDF are so used to complain (and they were right) that they keep going.

I like playing Fed. I prefer playing KDF. I started playing KDF back when a player still had to lvl up a Fed toon to unlock them. The tutorial which replaces this is very very good. The replay value of the new tutorial is high. Went back and played it with all of my KDF toons. I enjoyed myself as much the second time as I did the first. Jackal mastiff ground combat pet. What's not to love?

Yes, pwe/cryptic did a lot of copy/paste. Yes, the QA on some of this could be lot better. But the KDF is moving in the right direction. I'm positive it can get better from here. Besides, some KDF (and content) will always be better than no KDF (and content). After all, just how much trouble could some SpoonFed player get into if we weren't around to keep an eye on them?

I've expressed nothing but gratitude for the new KDF stuff. But I really don't see the purpose of this thread, is it some subtle crack at KDF players or certain individuals? Cause that is the only reason people make these type of threads.

I agree; the KDF is in pretty good shape now. In fact, it feels like more of a real faction than the Romulan Republic, since they dont even have their own fleets or starbases.

    The kdf faction is fine.
IMHO, the issue is how cryptic goes about things.

They release a kdf shuttle a few years ago (tojo) that is EXTREMELY hard to play. You need to be young and drinking alot of coffee to get that to work. Nobody bought it.

They release the Oddy, an amazing ship. And they release the Bortasq that was unplayable except for Borg STF's until recently. The forums complained and thus, Nobody bought it.

Then cryptic doesn't release another KDF ship for two years. They where not good ships! Even in interviews cryptic would say over and over again "Yeah, i think the klingons have enough ships".

EVEN after cryptic gives the KDF a tutorial and new missions cryptic didn't milk it and release a new ship. I am sure it was a resource issue. But it doesn't "sell" the fact that cryptic wants to invest in the faction in the future.

If someone plays the FED faction you will see alot of stuff to buy, if someone plays the kdf faction you will see that not only do they not have alot of stuff, but that the kdf hadn't had a new ship in two years.

I am just fustrated and the timeline of how cryptic handled this faction.
Should I start posting again after all this time?

ORIGINAL POSTER here... Yes this thread is genuine. After three years of nothing but negative feedback from KDF players I thought some nice things would motivate Cryptic seeing how much hard work they have put into KDF! And the game in general...

I like my Klingon character (sorry, only have the one). I like flying my KDF ship. I would like to see some civic improvements to First City so it feels less like a ghetto and more like the capital of a great space empire. It's better than the original we had at launch, but I don't think of Klingons as space orcs living in squalor.

Yeah, even when the new quonos was released i kept on thinking that it looked earily similar to Detroit but with bigger forehead ridges.
I was wondering if the High Chancellor may need to revamp the way the collect taxes because a block away from the High Council Chamber their shouldn't be alleyways and such.
