Unrecognized Toon in Character List ??

Hiya,
I've been gone from STO perhaps over a year. Wondering if this is a known bug:
Twice now, when logging into STO I saw a character in my list that I did not create. I did not try playing the unrecognized toon. The unrecognized toon disappears after logging in and out.
I also saw an unrecognized character on the STO Gateway, which similarly disappeared after logging out and back in.
Anyone else seen this? I thought my account had been TRIBBLE at first but fortunately all my stuff is intact.

Only thing I can think of to suggest is to force verify the game files. Basically it checks the files to see if anything is corrupted or broken and fixes/replaces them.
After logging into the game launcher, but before clicking the Engage button, click the Options button on the top, check the box for Force Verify, then click the Save button. Wait for the game to patch then log in. Don't worry. The force verify only happens once so you won't need to uncheck the box afterwards and will actually have to recheck it if you need to do it again later.
