Anyone Have a Nice Fleet?

Well, I was ready to buy a fleet ship today, and soon found out that you need to have permission to buy form "provisioned fleet stores." So, I an glad to see what fleets would be open for me to join. I only wish that the fleet allows me to buy from these problematic "provisioned fleet stores," and have a shipyard tier II or higher. Thanks, I will be happily donating and will always be an active player.

You may want to look at the Fleet recruitment section of the forum, and move your thread there.

If you only want a Fleet ship and not looking for a fleet, then you can try NoP Public Service. You need to provide your own Fleet Ship Modules and Fleet Credits.

If you have 10 mil EC then just ask to buy access for 1 ship in any zone channel. Sounds expensive but it beats begging for hours.

Most fleets wont grant you access to their resources just like that, especially when you, like in your OP, indicate to do a Hit-and-run, where you join, take the ship and then run from the fleet again the second you're done.

You are going to have to either dedicate to a fleet like mine, or the others like it out there, prove that you are going to stick around and not just suck dry what you can use and then be gone, or pay up in reasonable amounts, to some of the fleet out there who sell equipment and gear.

Those who WILL allow you access on a hit-and-run basis, are often fleets that do not have proper resource management... Expect to see your name here as a fleet-raider if you join one of those and then leave once you have what you need.
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
Let me put the rumors to rest: it's definitely still the C-Store (Cryptic Store) It just takes ZEN.

    Snubley,

Sounds like you are willing to stay in the fleet and participate, so we'd be glad to have you at the STO Academy.
(We do have a two week probation for new members on some fleet stores....)

Take a look at our website, we have a large player base of three fleets in the Academy.

Drop me a line in-game: Raifin@ooc_Chris and I'll be happy to get you (or others) an invite-

    My fleet is pretty reasonable...

Promotion and access to fleet stores will cost you 10k in fleet donations..
You can earn 10k fleet cred in very little time.

We have a Tier II shipyard and we have spare ship provisions.

If you're willing to donate to the fleet and get yourself some fleet credits, we have an open door. :D

And, I agree this probably belongs in a fleet forum... but you haven't said what faction?

There are plenty of fleets out there but depends on what you are looking for. Do you just want to pick up a specific fleet ship? Looking to hang out with cool guys? Looking for help leveling alts, etc.

Then you run into one of two problems: Either being in a big fleet where it is hard to get credits but has access to all the toys OR being in a small fleet where there is not much competition to get credits but the fleet doesn't have access to all the toys.

    Faction also matters.

But it you want, the FMC (Fed) is T2 and has the T3 shipyard queued up. If you want a ship that is available at T2 just holler. Someone has to use those provisions up.

So I have a few questions and I might as well ask them here.

    1. Do I need to be in a fleet to buy ships and/or weapons from a fleets starbase?

    2. If I am in a fleet and don't have store access, will I be able to buy from another fleet?

    3. What is the common charge for getting invited to a fleet starbase?

No, but you do need to be invited to a fleets starbase, have enough dilithium, fleet credit and ship modules for the stuff you want. They're not provided for you.
    2. If I am in a fleet and don't have store access, will I be able to buy from another fleet?

Yes, you do not need to leave a fleet to accept an invite to another fleets base.
    3. What is the common charge for getting invited to a fleet starbase?

I've seen numbers for anything from 50k EC upwards, however there are a large number of fleets who will allow you access free.

ETA I wasn't considering the possibility of someone never having been in a fleet and, thus, having no fleet credit.

In such a case, things get a bit problematic as all these purchases require some fleet credit and that can only be gained via donation to a fleet......and to do that you must be a member.

    3. What is the common charge for getting invited to a fleet starbase?

    1. The answer depends on what exactly you want to buy.

For ships, you need to be a member of the fleet whose Shipyard you want to use. Otherwise, when you interact with the NPC to buy ships - regardless of whose base you are on - your fleet's ship purchasing menu will open.

For everything else, you do not need to be a member of the fleet you are visiting. You can use their stores, spending your fleet's provisions and your fleet credit and dilithium.

    2. I haven't tested this, but probably not. If you don't have permission to spend your fleet's provisions, you probably won't be able to circumvent this by activating another fleet's store.

    3. You should never pay to get a map invite. If you want to be nice and give someone a tip, that's your prerogative, but you should never pay money up front for a fleet map invite. There are plenty of chat channels (public service, NOP public service, etc.) where you can get free map invites.

Fleet invites for ships are a different story. If you don't plan to stay in the fleet and contribute, you should expect to pay multiple millions of EC for an invite. Of course, for a 10 console ship, this is still competitive with the alternative of a 2500 zen purchase or a very expensive lockbox/lobi requisition on the exchange.
