The Breen ship from last year is def one of my fav ships in my arsenal. Would like to see them give away a choice of ships, so that way those who missed out on previous ship rewards can always go for them again.

Copy-paste Dev blog. Identical to the blog from last year, except for the added reference to the "Gingerbread Colony". Why even bother making this post, if you can't be arsed to add something useful? It's not a state-secret that the Winter Event is coming, so I fail to see how a blog post announcing "It's coming" is useful to anyone.
Would much rather see actual information on what kind of rewards we can expect this time around. And while your at it, make a blog post that includes BOTH rewards AND stats in the same post. Quit giving us bits and pieces in each blog.
Ever heard of "building up to the moment"? Think that's the goal here.
I will love STO forever if you guys throw be a Breen Cruiser option, I am a newer player and I didn't get a chance to get one last year. If you do I promise to buy a 5 dollar costume purchase (2150s Mirror) to make it up to you guys for including it

Obviously the devs that are working on Star Trek Online are working with their counterparts from other dimensions, but there are some problems. Dimension X4392S1 had 2 more TV series after Enterprise and the current TV series plays into STO so things that happen in the show happen in STO and things that happen in STO happen in the show. Since Star Trek is so popular, Romulus was not destroyed and they are playing as the Romulan Star Empire for the 3rd full faction. Dimension A6314Q4 only had TOS so the players are complaining about all the Cryptic designs like the Galaxy, Sovereign, and Defiant.
So ehm... I like the Winter Event, don't get me wrong. But someone mentioned we'd be seeing a c-store KDF ship before the end of the year? Is that still happening, or was that just the winter event ship in disguise?
at the risk of sounding negative, i just hope you guys will have the crash to desktop fix live before this event goes live as so far i have not been able to login for 8 days now, missing out on 8 days worth of lobi crystals and i would hate to miss out on the winter event.
from 5 dec this year I will be having to put all my usual stuff on hold, so no fighting the voth, no saving the deferi from those dastardly breen, no fighting back the borg and no more saving the universe and life as we know it in general until after the winter event is over.
I am going to take a well earned holiday from all the other sto stuff and devote 100% of my time to having a wonderful festive break in the holiday resort that is lovingly referred to as q's winter wonderland.
thanks to all you guys at cryptic and perfect world for making the year of sto so much fun for me.

... but i would love it very much if , for an winter wonderland event to award a jem'hadar attack ship, at a going price on the exchange of 500,000,000 million ec , or higher , it was already rare as a cstore box , and about as easy to aquire as antiproton mark 12 space weapons, actually harder now ever since the voth came to town .

Q meant what he said about his drones...er, the dev team. He caught one of them, who was supposed to be working on the Winter Event, slacking off. He snapped his fingers and this is what she did for 3 days straight.

I don't care what the header says, I am not now, nor have I ever been, nor will I ever be, an "ARC user".
If you make it so I can get both the Breen Ship AND whatever new one comes out, I will be spending lobi in order to make this happen. Otherwise I'll just grind for one or the other and won't spend a dime.
What I would like to see is the Epohhs - THEY'RE SO FLUFFY!!!! - being used for any of the marks just like the birds were at the Risian even as last year they were Romulan only
In light of the winter event, please confirm if a fix is coming soon for Romulans / Borg Lib Romulans etc. (any Romulan faction captain's / bridge officers) so they will be able to wear the winter scarves from previous years (and the Tholian Silk scarf) ? Some of these have been obtained from the Exchange for many ECs already and opened / unlocked, but cannot presently be worn/equipped on Romulan faction characters. These players really deserve a fix for this. Desired behavior is that a Romulan character can wear any scarves affiliated with their allied faction (Fed/KDF). Please give us some good news about this!

Finally! This was my favorite part of the game last year and I'm really looking forward to it again this year. Guys, don't listen to the complainers. Nearly everyone I know here loves this part of the game. Thank you for bringing it back
So happy to see this back, I'm hoping for green nano-pulse weapons this year! would live the Epohs to give all marks this year too (like the birds on Risa). I've been looking forward to icing some snowmen for a long while, hope the gingerbread village is as exciting!
My computer died on me recently and I've had to use ARC, I'd just like to say I've had no problems with it, It does work.
I would like to register an objection to one thing though, I don't want to be forced to buy ZEN for individual games, It's much more efficient to buy in bulk and allocate as needed! :mad:
Markhawkman that part of the blog means nothing as it is always in the blog ( look back the first and second winter event blogs, its there in both ). I can't wait to see what new gear we get! I think Green nano pulse weapons are the way forward.
Am I the only one who wished the STO dev team skipped the Winter Event to work on more Featured Episodes as well as possibly Season 9 stuff?
I can hardly say if you are the only one that feels this way...
For myself, however, I like and look forward to the Winter Event each year. It's a fun diversion, and every year it gets better and more interesting.
It also saves us the grief that other MMOs sometimes run into where the entire game gets "Decorated"... I much prefer having an area that people who want some winter-spirit can go and play, but does not take over the game world for everyone else.
And, as mentioned, we all know now that with the larger Dev Team these days, multiple projects can be worked on at the same time... Win to the x where x = number of new content projects in the works.
I might feel differently if it was an either or proposal, fortunately for all of us it is not.

The Jem'Hadar Escort and Steamrunner were never earnable in-game.
The JHAS came from a proto-lockbox where players could basically earn a key a day. Just as rare as a lockbox ship.
The Steamrunner came from a Steam promo that involved spending money.
