The Vesta line is great. Use it on my sci and can't see him flying anything else.

It just needs it's own custom bridge. You know, like every other 3 pack ship gets. Except this one.

Vesta class is worth very cent IMO :D consoles are useful and the ship just looks awesome.

My only gripe is with the lack of unique bridge and with sector space set up the way it is you never really get the full benefit of the enhanced slipstream

more rademeaker ships please :) I'm looking at you spirit class

Only 3 ship set that I actually find the consoles useful on.
They also need aux powered turrets, beam arrays and dual beam banks.

That would be great, but somehow I am not getting my hopes up.

True. A full spectrum of aux weapons would be amazing.

Also the Type 6 material. I know it isn't a 2409 ship but I'd still like to use Type 6 on it.

Don't tell me the Vestas aren't selling well.

They're basically the best you can get in sci except the Wells and possibly the Palisade (and neither of those can get 4 tac consoles).

I too love my Vesta. It's a fun ship to fly with cool/interesting/useful consoles. I bought the $50 bundle and only have one complaint and two comments/requests:

    Complaint:
    - Now that Slipstream is automatically cancelled when we jump blocks, regardless of how much time is left on the power's function, this effectively nerfs the Vesta's two-console Chroniton Integrated Quantum Slipstream set power. I'm not sure if this is an intended change in the way Sector Space works, or a bug. It wasn't listed in any Release Notes that I remember seeing, so I'm guessing it's a bug. Can we get a Dev comment on this?

    Comments/Requests:
    - I would love for the Vesta to have a custom bridge. I think it's the only $50 bundle set that doesn't have one. I knew it didn't when I purchased the ships, so I'm not complaining, but it would be nice.

    - Can we please get access to a variety of Auxiliary-powered weapons (like turrets and DBB)? Possibly even a selection of different, non-phaser energy types? Putting them in the Dilithium or Fleet Stores would be fine.

Again, I highly recommend the Vesta bundle to anyone interested. Even despite the above complaint/requests it's truly a worthy buy!

    :D

You can find/contact me in game as @PatricianVetinari. Playing STO since Feb 2010.

Why do you think us Klingons and Romulans have been waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting for our versions of them?

Not too mention the KDF and the five-forward weapon cruiser and escort.

The Gal-X wishes it had a phaser lance as powerful as the Tac-Vesta's focused beam.

So, yeah. Awesome ship. Flying it full aux, underpowered aft turrets be damned.

The three-piece set bonus, the Quantum Focused Shield Bubble creates a perfect shield that while active, makes your ship?s hull invulnerable and will take no damage, including damage caused to yourself from Ramming Speed.
Why did I never think to use that skill with ramming speed?

I saw this thread pop up in news and got excited!

    Are the vestas on sale!!

Alas I now realize it is a "Look how cool these are! You can buy them now for full price!"

    Oh well

    *closes wallet*

A weekly ship spotlight with a discount would be cool. This just gets my hopes up then destroys them.

Oh, and as a Vesta bundle owner:

    1) Don't waste time creating a special bridge. The Vestas shouldn't have any special bridge. They're just regular starfleet vessels (albeit advanced ones) Cryptic decided to make a three-pack of (and that's not a reason for a special bridge).

    2) Somehow offering Aux turrets would be very appealing, but it might make the Vestas a bit too dangerous.

Will the Vesta become obsolete when you raise level cap next year?

I'm not crazy about science vessels. As a matter of fact, I leave the healing to our good boys and girls in blue.

But the Vesta has my respect for being a very capable combat vessel, while not shirking on the science-y stuff. If I could go back before I bought the Kumari line, I would probably buy the Vesta line just to try it out.

they've said before that if and when they raise level cap, they will do it in such a way that the current line of T5 ships don't become obsolete.

Where's the Vesta Bridge? Even Lockbox ships get their own unique bridge, why not the Vesta? Odyssey pack = Check. Andorian pack = Check. Vesta pack = Missing in Action. See what's wrong with this pattern?

I bought the bundle, and on my tactical character I currently use the Engineering-heavy Vesta ship because of it having one more Engineering console slot more than the other two variants, because from the Dyson Rep, I have two Energy Signature Dampening consoles where one of them is a [+Turn] and the other is a [+ResAll] along with a Blue Neutronium console. So far, it's been awesome with those consoles. I also run the Dyson Deflector Array on it.

On my other Fed characters, I have one on one of my science characters, and my Engineering character.

i adore my Vesta on my Science Captain. She's flown it since they came off the assembly line and hasn't flown anything else since. It's very powerful ship especially when she's set up right. I was pretty annoyed that it didn't come with it's own bridge, it's the only three pack ship not to and I don't see why it had to be an exception to the rule.

I love this ship. When I'm not on my Andorian ship, the Vesta is my preferred class. That said, I'm still waiting on STO to give us her own bridge. And considering that I (and many others) purchased the 3-pack, I think we are within our right to request one. Especially since all the other 3-packs got one.

I agree with prior posters in this thread. There's been talk of going back and bringing certain high tier c store ships up to par with newer releases, I think the vesta line would be a prime candidate to start with.

Aux phasers in the dil store and maybe fleet store, same prices and restrictions as the andorian stuff, and a custom bridge. Not an interior, just a one room bridge like the Kumari and Oddy get.

If I could throw in my personal taste, It'd be really cool to kind of reverse what you did with the Oddy's bridge little forward subdeck section, and put a passage like that headed aft that ends in an Observation room overlooking the ship's flight deck or hangar. Like, you can go between your regular bridge and down to fighter ops through this specialized passage.

Beautiful ships though, I'm saving up for the 3 pack currently.

Maybe in the future, instead of single faction three packs, you should do triad releases? 3 equivalent ships at once, one for each faction, with a bundle option that's cheaper and encourages alt play/investment?

ah the vesta, the 1 ship that euthanized the deep space, recon and long range sci ship apon release! it can do everything they can do, with any station setup they can have and more, better then they can! plus a hanger, great consoles, DHC use, aux weapons, its as much of a mary sue as it was in the books

They should let GoS be first to test them out once they are ready for testing/if they are ever made. Just a thought but one of these ships like the five-forward, 5 tactical console, or both ships would be nice if they would create a special KDF FE to celebrate the life of some fallen warriors who weren't able to be around to see them become available to The Empire. Something like naming one of the ships and making an almost impossible mission to complete to light up the way to sto'vo'kor and then hit F to obliterate every enemy on the map :D

dood. omfg dood. It almost seems like the vesta 3 pack isn't up to par with other 3 packs and there's no consistency in the subtype considering the price and what you get for it, unlike the cstore intrepid that is at least consistent in its under performance with other c store single purchase hero ships like the c store galaxy. omfg. dood.

Probably the most enjoyable ship in my exhaustive roster of ships, the Vesta is truly a Science Ship, the consoles are fun to use and the boff layout is quite versitile.

It isnt perfect: The Aux Cannons are great, but something about a saucer ship with nacelles on the back and elongated hull makes whipping around to keep a 90 arc to fore seem... strange. additionally I feel that getting the most out of the aux cannons sacrifices too much of the 'science' feel that you get from heavy sci boff stations.

    +1.

I have a Rom sci toon and a bored credit card that would LOVE to see Romulan versions of these. ;)
