The biggest problem area of skirts is the area between the legs.

Can I please have that printed on a T-shirt??

I think you should just disable the ability to run while wearing long skirts as its pretty impossible to do anyway! Its more a hobble than a sprint when you try.

Has this been added to Champions Online as well? Because my lady heroes are looking like they need some time on the stairmaster.

    Other changes

Other changes to the lower body may affect the appearance of the legs. The following changes were introduced in Season 8:
    • wider hips and waist on females,
    • narrower hips and wider waist on males,
    • new skin textures for female legs.

The complaints about some of the side effects (or main effects) of the female model changes are all certainly valid (my curvy andorian lady suddenly looks pear-shaped and my wafe-y rigelian... well also looks pear shaped, quite frankly; hips are rather bulbous universally on female models) but... am I seriously the only one taking issue with the male changes quoted here? All my carefully constructed, hours-and-days-spent-tweaking, years-spent-playing male models have gone from a variety of body types to universally inverted-triangles or ugly, shapeless rectangles. :(

By sacrificing some chest bulk (which can be sooorta disguised by shoulder width) and upping the hips sliders on my main, I've almost gotten his body back, but this has effected literally dozens of my characters, captains and BOffs alike. It'll take me ages to go through and fix what really shouldn't have been broken in the first place. Some of them, the ones supposed to be bulkier in the chest, may not be fixable so will have to live with their sudden lack of waists or hips. And I don't have full-body reference pictures handy for all of them, which further complicates repairs.

So am I really the only one as upset, if not moreso, about the changes to the male models as/than the female ones?

At least narrowing the hips just means I have to go through and up each slider a bit (kinda stupid because they had a fine range to begin with, but still), but the fattened waists are a much bigger problem--for both genders, not JUST females. Why can't we just have, I dunno, waist sliders? :(

Well, yeah, we definitelly need waist sliders. I actually made a topic about that - even though it covers the torso for females only, surely both genders need these sliders.. (see link in my siggy).

Oooh I saw that but only glanced at it because I was looking to see if anyone else had said anything about the male model changes rather than just the females, sorry 'bout that. Its true though, I've long thought we needed that slider but now more than ever, for sure. But definitely both genders.

The biggest problem area of skirts is the area between the legs.

I described it in another post, but quick summary, legs are separate solid entities for the most part. But a skirt usually wraps around and has to stretch when the legs take a wide stance or stride while walking and running. It is *extremely* difficult to avoid clipping, especially the longer the skirt is.

Something that hasn't been leveraged as much in STO, due to matching IP uniforms, is split front skirts along these lines: http://images.asos-media.com/inv/media/2/5/3/4/2674352/image4xl.jpg

And basically if the split up the middle is high enough, it makes "skinning" the skirt *much* easier as you don't have to worry about the middle stretching and clipping as the legs animate.

We used them more on Neverwinter. But again, we weren't trying to match costumes exactly from an established show or movie.

That leg geo we're referring to is good for short skirts and split skirts.

    Thank you for the information.

By the way, the gap in the seam between the TOS Split Skirt and the top "The Original Series - Loose" seems to be fixed. The gap in the seam between the formal-wear skirt and the formal-wear tops also seems to be fixed. I didn't check other outfits.

The TOS Split Skirt still has a split in front of the left leg. Is that the intended look of the TOS Split Skirt now?

I mentioned some of the changes to males in the first post of this thread:

I also noted in the thread below that the arms of both genders are shorter, though the shorter arms are much more noticeable on males.

I noticed a stealth nerf to the nurse and TOS skirts.

Why was this made? It was nothing wrong with it, and looked good with their legs.
Or does the skirts alter themselves how the model are? Since you changed stuff with season 8 models, could that be the case?

A picture i posted on facebook, comparing old and new. Blue model picture is from season 7, and brown is from season 8. See how it is longer over her left butt cheek?
