Wrath of Khan uniform - new color palette and rank pins

It's about time. :D2kqs.jpg

I noticed it when I was setting up uniforms on 1 of my characters. This must have happened within the last patch or two because I did up uniforms on another character several days ago and don't recall any changes to the WoK uniform. :)

One small thing though.......it's still missing the rank pins on the left sleeve on the stripe and above the stripe as can be seen here http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/File:Starfleet_uniform_jacket.jpg

    Yes, I really really like the rank pins. Was even considering outfitting my crew in them. I wish there was a better boot option and the pants weren't so high cut. Also as you say, the sleeve rank and pins are missing. The sleeve also has a gold band on it which would be for admirals, captain and below shouldn't display the gold band. Pants alternately, should have the option to display a gold band in the middle for admirals. Thanks for the update though Cryptic STO team! :D

    It's great that they finally got around to doing that.

    That said, I do wish they took the time to double check to see if they were flat against the shoulder. I noticed some pins, especially the Admiral pins were tilting in one direction. Also with the Admiral pins, they were larger than the supposed to be and overlapping instead of being between the edges of the embroidery.

    Also Combadges are still inverting into gigantic TRIBBLE still. that needs to be fixed.

    I would love to see that color palette become standard for all starfleet uniforms eventually. :D

    That reminds me.

    Be nice if we also got a choice of material for the WoK uniforms. When I look at it in certain lights, it reflects light as if it's wet. So be nice if we could have a material that's more akin to cloth.

    Have they changed the material as well ?
    To me the material they had was way too 'plather' looking .

    But remember, folks. Cryptic never listens to feedback and never addresses costume bugs that have existed for a really long time. These are not the WoK uniform changes you're looking for. *waves hand*

    I'd like to see that color palette become standard for ALL uniforms eventually...don't just hoard the good uniform colors now starfleet, you're supposed to share and help the needy (like us romulans and klingons :P )

    Changes are a bug, thanks for pointing it out so Cryptic can fix it back to the limited choices. :P

    It would be nice if they also gave us some selection of "pips" and "squeaks" -- the service pins in the division color band below the rank insignia on the sleeve.

    I was never a fan of the WoK "in the boot" pants...Use the Starfleet Academy pants. Same skunk stripe, but they are Loose Long.

    Much more professional looking.

    Rank pins on the sleeve would be nice and fairly easy to do, but I don't picture them going out of their way to implement "long service" pips, Admiral braids and commendation pins, unless they are a "static" set (ie everyone get's the same set of pins, braid).

    They also need to revert back to the old colour palette for the badge. The new one has the wrong colours in it

    ^Uh, no. The new badge palette actually includes true gold for the first time in the top line.

    Okay. This just about confirms for me that fourth anniversary rollout will be the Constellation class.

    Consider WHY they would do this NOW. There almost certainly has to be content using the rank pins. We know the Constellation in development.

    Maybe it involves teaming up with a young Jack Crusher to track down the alternate T'nae we left behind in Temporal Ambassador.

    And... prediction: playing Jack Crusher will be... Wil Wheaton. He's said he'd do STO if he didn't have to play Wesley

    What do you think we'll be seeing that requires the ranks?

    It almost certainly can't be justified by an ordinary bug fix alone; it's too much work. There are no other uniforms that use these ranks (aside from he no collar Stargazer/Yesterday's Enterprise era).

    That suggests to me that there's content using these rank pins.

    Not just that, they just gave away free uniform keys to some of the MMO sites. One of them being the WoK uniforms.

    They worked on the D'Kyr just before S8, at least 2 times, and we have nothing related to this ship, or Vulcan since then.

    As for alternate T'Nae, nobody knows about her. If you remember the mission, when it's over, you don't have any memories of what happened, find nothing, and think it was an useless mission. Just like Yesterday Enterprise, when everything come back to normal, nobody remember being in an alternate universe. And prime directive forbid we play with another universe.

    Don't think your dreams will come true because they made some bug fixes on a costume. Maybe it was not even related to this costume at all, and it's just a nice side effect. They worked on costume palettes several times since LoR, maybe it's related to that.

    Maybe it will happen, maybe not. It's too soon, and not enough, yet. Better think it will never happen, and be happily surprised than the opposite.

    I do outfit my away team with them, and change the colors to show what they are, engineer, science, tactical so i knwo what they are doing....

    It's probably the most complex uniform in canon. I can't wait to see what else they fit into it.
