Bloody dinos... I die a little inside each time I see one.

It's available for all factions, as read in the blog:

    Cheers,

    Brandon =/\=

I believe that he was referring to the problems with KDF costuming. You know, the problems which have been around for several months now?

No. When we attached an Accolade to a previous set of vanity pets (Khellids) it did not seem to be well-received by players. That may have been because there were too many variants, but the primary voiced complaint was that Accolade Hunters were feeling as though they were now being 'forced' to spend money.

Thank you for not making this mistake twice. I hope some day the Khellid problem can be rectified, like by putting them for sale in the lobi store so cheap (1-5 lobi) that it brings down the price of those purple ones.

The traits are interesting but are going to further the combat imbalance in many systems. A group wide mini apo/HE/TSS doesnt bode too well for balancing right now.

But dont take that as me being nothing but critical, the rest of it looks pretty nice actually.

Well no kidding! Nobody felt like paying their entire life savings to buy Khalids off the exchange. Or pay lots of real money for the gamble of getting the right ones you need.

You should've added some kind of free alternative for players.

While we've been discussing a similar feature internally for some time, we currently have NO plans to implement it. That may change at some point in the future, but that's the way it stands right now.

(Edit - missed an important word)

No offense, but it's stupid that you guys aren't planning on implementing some kind of pet storage. It's getting ridiculous now with the overflow of reward tribbles and event pets that can't be reclaimed.

I have a few questions about the "Orbital Devastation (Engineering)" Ground Trait.

Is it similar (from the mechanic) to the attacks in the Ground STF "Into the Hive"? Where players have to move around to avoid getting shot. The description for Orbital Devastation says: "... a maintained beam that will chase down nearby targets". Can those targets still avoid the beam? Is the beam moving from one target to another? And how strong is the damage in comparison to the Orbital Strike?

The outfit, ground weapon, and pet dino looks great. Those are on my list as I see if I can get them.

Odd the Voth ships looks like the Jem'Hadar ships.

Brilliant, some stuff that my themed Gorn crew can use. Does the Voth uniform allow Gorn claws?

"So basically it's for fed side" refers to the fact that your guys broke the KDF costumes, and have yet to fix it. So costume unlock or not, it will not "currently" work properly for KDF players.

How is the damage model of the chasing beam in comparison to the orbital strike?

The current one is a single burst of damage with a decent AOE. Will the chasing beam be limited damage over time, large AOE, small AOE. Does it have the basic damage effect of the orbital strike and then add a dot effect?

Y'know, everyone keeps using the Jurassic Park theme for this season's theme.

With the revelation of the baby Raptor thing, I think this is a better theme.

    ...I want the babby Raptor.

    Jem'hadar? Nimbus Science?

I don't know, personally, I think the Voth ships look more closely related to the Wells Temporal Science and Mobius Temporal Destroyer than anything if you're going to go comparing them with anything besides other Voth ships...

Details about the new Voth Lock Box are revealed in this entry of the Season 8 News Dev Blog series.

    Link to the blog.

Brandon, speaking as an aspiring paleontologist and lifelong Trekkie I have to say that the entire concept of the Voth violates all of our current knowledge of the Cretaceous period, and laser dinosaurs are completely un-Trek...

Oh, what the hell, it's a game. Doesn't need to be realistic, needs to be awesome. And besides, the laser dinos may be un-Trek, but they are un-Trek in a very Trek way, just like that giant greek god dude from "Who Weeps for Adonis", that hilarious TOS episode.

Can't wait. Already equipping my top gear onto my Warbird.

    Cryptic,

Okay, back the bus up here! There are "Omega" particle generators on this new sphere? and the Borg, who almost worship this particle for it's perfection are no where to be seen? Am I the only one seeing this is problematic for a Star Trek storyline, where the Borg assimilate knowledge of other races?

Not really, since this is happening 'now', the Borg likely haven't had a chance to assimilate any RRF, KDF, Starfleet or Voth officers with knowledge of the Sphere, and considering how old the Sphere likely is, there's the distinct possibility that the creators - Iconian, Solanae or whoever - were gone before the Borg ever existed...

Or there's also the possibilty that the Iconians created the Borg as a 'servitor' race, they got out of control, and whatever the connection is between the Iconians and Omega is part of the reason the Borg see Omega as 'perfection incarnate'...

I just replayed the Romulan mission "Sleepers" to play it safe.

This is a picture of a data interface in Borg Cube 19721. Looks like the Borg know about a connection between the Iconians & Omega. It remains to be seen if they know about the Solanae Dyson Sphere ...

Do I presume the price for the cannon is the same as other ground weapons, 50?

The engineering Orbital Devastation trait, don't' know how good the stats will be, but the imagery makes me laugh.

Lol I can just see a voth soldier running around screaming with a zigzagging phaser beam behind him:D

Well I'm glad you guys decided to continue with the new flow of things and make unique consoles for the lockboxes rather than just giving away one faction's consoles to another. That goes a long way in keeping the gameplay of the factions different and each being engaging in it's own way. I sincerely hope this trend also continues in future lockboxes.

The ships....well, I'm going to be honest here, to me having the ships of each new advesarial species we encounter is quite lame. I would love it if you could make faction specific special ships in those lockboxes, like in the Temoral one. Make the game look at least bit more apropriate. I haven't been interested in any lockbox ships since the Temporal one and you won't get me aiming for lockbox ships unless you make them faction specific again.

Also we can have pet dinosaurs now, but we can't have a plain ol' dog or cat as pet? Fail, you should really think about this. And please do reconsider your position on pet inventory even if it needs to be payed for and purchased from the C-Store. We simply are running out of space even with expanded inventory and can't really go for the stuff you're putting out if we don't have where to store it.

But again, I must commend the decision of making new crossfaction lockbox consoles. Has been a thorn in my eye sort of speak in the past and I'm really glad you're taking this new direction. You got my respect on that one.

Confess to wanting that Dino pet really badly lol, must call it Yoshi for obvious reasons :D. Although I agree with previous poster asking for more "normal" non combat pets who doesn't want a cat and call it spot :p.

+1 for faction specific lockbox ships. Space has gotten pretty crowded with the different ships available. Would be nice to have some variation, and might even result in higher sales for Cryptic if people wanted the ships for both factions.
