Is there MAINTENANCE tomorrow for Season 8 patch???

Hey all! Wondering if there is going to be downtime/maintenance for the server tomorrow. I know from the announcements and graphics that Season 8 is being released and I am not sure if the server will be down a few hours or if we just patch up in the morning and log right in.

If any devs can CONFIRM how Season 8's Patch will work for tomorrow - please do so!

Also, if any players have confirmation about how things will work, please respond below with a link to your source!


Hopefully other players wondering what will happen tomorrow and the how of it all, can check this post and read the details. Good luck in Season 8 everyone and I look foward to future adventures with our amazing community!


P.S. - I got into 'Trek a little over 2 years ago after seeing the new movie in 2011 and then caught an episode of the Enterprise series. After that, I started playing STO and watched the ENTIRE Enterprise series in a week! Since then I have def become a "Trekker" - I use trekker just because so many "Trekkies" are just scary and creepy. Trekker = someone who is into Star Trek and doesnt live at home, has a job, and isnt a virgin! hehe Kidding aside, Trekkie, Trekker, Sci-fi fan or gamer - if you love STO then you are awesome in my book!     Yeah, I would have thought they'd have released patch notes or the maintenance times by now.
    It's not my fault if you feel trolled by my Disco ball... Sorry'boutit.

    Probably Bran is feverishly compiling the notes right now. I expect it'll be a little later than usual.

    Edit: though I'm pretty sure they must know the time-frame by now. Wouldn't mind knowing that *pokes Bran*

    Expect maintenance.
    If there isn't you'll be pleasantly surprised.
    (I won't be home till 10hrs after it will launch so immaterial to me unless they really TRIBBLE it up and it's down all day.)

    I don't think he meant "fix it" maint I think he was asking about the initial takedown to apply the patch. I think we all know by know there will be "fix it" maint afterwards to some degree or other.

    ah pre-patching the last few weeks remember takes a lot less time for down time

    No there won't be any maintenance. Brandon will just snap his fingers and season 8 will be live. And there will be no downtime or server issues at all.

    They announced the 12th was the release date. Can't get anymore "confirmier" than that. Remember, these guys are west coast... its like 3PM over there and they are just getting over their lunch food coma's.... patch notes will probably drop within the next two hours or so.... if they are really jamming fixes and stuff in, maybe just a bit later.

    Scheduled Maintenance announcement is out... From 6:00AM to 10:00AM PST
