In-game mail not working

  Hi. I have been having the same problems. If I logged into my alt character I could access e-mails other than the exchange expired ones. I've tried deleting a load of e-mails from both characters but this hasn't helped. I've submitted a couple of bug report tickets (which just vanished) as well as contacting customer services directly, but it is still not working. My problems started around August just after a patch.
  
  I can now only post 8 items at a time on the exchange as I can't retrieve expired sales items,
  
  Can anyone help?

  My mailbox will not show new mail. Im alerted to newly received mail but am unable to view them. Sometimes when I open the mailbox up new mail will flash for a second then disappear. Collecting items from expired exchange sales does not work either. Any suggestions?
  
  I think it might have something to do with a failed patch perhaps. Lately as I logon it starts to patch, gets about 10% downloaded and then completes at a .dll. I cant really see which one it is as it flashes by so quickly. Again any help would be appreciated, heh this is frustrating.

  Mailbox flashes. I have new mail. Click it. Briefly see unread messages and then it goes away. Mailbox now only shows read messages from months ago.
  
  However my game doesnt do that patching in the beginning.

  4 months I had that issue... sending in a vast number of bug reports, emails to customer service. Eventually I gave up. Stopped playing properly for couple of months, popped on now and then...but now it's working... I had to delete the mails one by one at a console, close the console then open it and delete another. Ended up losing a few mkxii puple consoles in the process but gained a few very old items from expired sales.
  
  Now it's back to normal...not sure what they did, not sure how or when but they did... so try from a mail console delete one mail, close then reopen, see if that mail has gone.
  
  Otherwise spend the next 4 months banging your head against a brick wall because I HAD already tried the above technique before but it didn't work...

  Same issue. Alerted to new mail, flashes with items for a fraction of a second, then nothing. Only displaying mail from 1/1/2013 and earlier...Many of those are expired listings that are empty as well. I never received the items back.
  
  And to think I just spent money on my Romulan...The toon I was trying to outfit with the items that just vanished...

  I solved this problem.
  
  There is no more room for new mails.
  
  Delete old emails, starting from the end.
  
  It took me about an hour, but it works fine now, and i keep deleting new mail once i read them or take the items.

  The mail system has not been working for months now. I receive tons of mail each day. Ever scene they started to fiddle with the mail system it has not been worked at all. The easiest way to deal with the mail system in Start Trek Online is to just ignore it. Its will not be fixed anytime soon, if ever. Things like dinosaur with lasers on there heads , lock boxes and, Mass Effect meets Star Trek are way more important then something like the in game mail system.
  The old adage stands true in STO. " If it Ain't Broke...Break It!".
