Q Double XP Promotion! [Now Ended]

Q is back on Earth Spacedock, Qo'noS and New Romulus Command, and he's in a giving mood! Visit him to get a boost that will DOUBLE your rewards of Skill Points* and Expertise for four (4) hours**! This promotion ends with server maintenance next Tuesday, November 12th, so you'll have to hurry before Q returns to the Continuum and the boosts are gone!

*Skill Points earned by Max-level characters are converted into Expertise.
**Until the event ends, keep visiting Q every four (4) hours to pick up another boost!


Log in and play to catch Q before he transports away for more omnipotent mischief, and thanks for playing Star Trek Online!

    Well, perhaps grinding 25,000,000 Expertise for the final Tier III Dilithium Mine upgrade won't be so terrible after all. That decreases the number of Mirror Universe runs from 1667 to 834. It will still take 70 hours of straight Mirror Universe to do it, but this is nice. Thanks for the information captainsmirk and belated welcome to Star Trek Online.

    Is Q making an appearance at the Command Center on New Romulus, or the Flotilla? If not, new Romulan characters will not be able to participate in the event. :(

    Thanks for the promo! I don't need the boost but always love being turned into an Undine or a Devidian by the Q...can we still do this around now or should I wait till the new winter event!

    Exactly. If he were on the flotilla (or both, since he could do that) then he'd be beneficial to the Romulan characters that most need his help, the lowest level ones who haven't gotten to that point in the story yet.

    Just tossing that out as a suggestion for the next time because it's probably too late to change it now.

    Why are they doing a double XP promotion to promote and encourage playing alts when they refuse to budge on the entire end-game and Reputation system punishing alts with a hot poker?

    Thanks Cryptic. I decided to role 2 Romulan toons, btw they are still a micro faction, but after playing on Tribble and not liking what I saw for Season 8 I thought "What the heck!" Since I will not be playing as much due to not being 5 years old and liking dinosaur I thought get rid of some of my Dilithuim and buy the Scimitar pack. Now I should get the toons up to VA long before Season 8 hit, thanks again Cryptic. :)

    Yeah this is like the best thing in a long while. It saved my sanity trying to push 2 toons through the top tiers of the rep system at the same time and level a 3rd. Better than a new ship!

    Oi! Too much power leveling this weekend...

    The XP Promotion hit during a "nothing else going on and the gf has her own plans" weekend. It was a perfect storm.

    I leveled two new Romulan-faction toons. A Tac/KDF Romulan all the way from 0 to L50, and a Eng/Fed Reman from 0 to L47*.

    * Ok, both toons skipped the tutorial, so they start at L5, I think (or close to it). And the Tac was actually created about a week ago, but was sitting in the Flotilla and hadn't moved since I'd created him. The Engie was made Saturday night, got to L47 by Sunday (last) night before bed... Alas I had to work today, so I couldn't stay up to power through and finish those last three levels. :rolleyes:

    I did the same thing, had the whole weekend free. Did 3 characters from lvl 1-50, and have almost finished a Romulan who was at level 11, got him to level 42 in 4 hours, just waiting 8 minutes for it to end then will grab another to finish it off.

    Since there's no end date for the moment and he should have gone by now I'm hoping they'll keep him around 1 more day, so I can do my Klingon and then I'll have all my toons at level 50 :)

    Love the Q double XP events.

    For some reason, I thought the Q Event ended last weekend, and then I see Q's still on Qo'noS, so I revisit the site and realize my mistake. LOL silly me.

    Walk out the transporter room a short ways and turn 90-degrees right. He's there in the open area sitting on a floating Q throne. He's just to the West of the opening to the Great Hall where Chancellor J'mpok is located.
