Fix automatic dilithium refining for gold members!

I'm currently on holidays and just wanted to log on after a couple of days to benefit of the automatic 5 day dilithium refining option that gold members enjoy. Not only does the automatic refining not work, it's also not possible to refine more than one day using the manual function. This is not what I paid for as a gold member and the dilithium refining is an important aspect of a gold account. It's part of the sales contract. So get it fixed!

    i have never had a problem with it. Is it wonky, yes. But it works.
    Let's say i don't refine tonight. Tomorrow at 8pm est it will refine todays. It seems to be working as intended.
    Should I start posting again after all this time?

    When you log in, it will auto refine up to a week's worth of Ore IF you've not logged in for that week. If you have not logged in for 3 days and have 24K Ore, all 24K should be refined upon login to that character.

    Is this not happening?

    For me it has worked once and that was the day I went gold. Never since I have had the automated refining happening. I know other members with similar issues.

    Nope, unfortunately it's not happening that way. The only time my account ever auto-refined was the day I went gold. Never again since. And I know people with similar issues.

    I'm not sure then, because I know mine recently auto refined for me when I didn't log in for a day when I was traveling.

    i was a gold member for a month and mine never did auto refine..
    im not gold now tho, so i guess it doesnt matter.. but it has been broken for awhile.

    Working fine for me. I got the 50k dil on 11 characters from the CE event and only refined manually a couple times. Went through all my characters yesterday after not logging in to most of them for a week or more and all of it was refined.

    Working fine for me. Haven't had time to log on for a week or so - and my characters all auto-refined the rest of their reward from Crystalline Cataclysm - and they each refined 30k odd leftover upon login.

    The auto refine hasn't worked for me a daily since they introduced the system. I have to manually convert the ore every time I log in.

    Also, I'm tired of the spam message every time you zone, "You have 0 refined ore" or "refine failed" when you still yet to refine.

    the spam message has and will always be there.
    But it won't refine todays dilithium until tomorrow.
    Should I start posting again after all this time?

    If you are logging in everyday, you are not going to see it auto refine anything. The perk is to auto refine up to a week's worth if you're not able to log in and refine it yourself. Take a look at the above posts :)

    This best describes my situation. I see the "Dilithium refining failed" message a lot.

    Maybe as it is not a autorefine but a oops i missed a day refine?

    It does not refine when you log in all the time.

    The only way to trigger it is when you actualy missed an refinmend Deadline since you logged in and then you have to had been not logged in all the time aswell, then and only then it will autorefine for you when you next logg in.

    If you just logg in every day it wont if you logged in but you forgot to refine the daily lot it wont refine for you automaticly either.

    I hope that clarifies how the autorefine actualy works ingame.
    If this is the intended design i can't tell you but that's how it works as of yet.

    The shear amount of error Messages we get on map Transfer regarding refinmend well yes they could imply it isn't working.

    I recall the auto refine also did it for daily use, not just for 3 days or 1 week worth of not playing.


    And like I said, that message every time you zone is annoying.

    According to the Features Matrix...
    Gold Members refine Dilithium automatically upon logging in, up to one week's worth of dilithium.
    To me, this isn't quite consistent with what Branflakes is saying. The Matrix mentions that it will auto-refine up to a week's worth of dilithium, but it also implies that it will auto-refine every single time you log in (provided you haven't hit the cap). That's the way I always assumed it worked.

    Also: if it's only upon login, why are we getting the "refining failed" messages when we transfer maps?

    Here's how it seems to work. If you log on every day, even on to one character, the auto-refine doesn't work, even for other characters on your account, even if you don't log into them.

    If you log on a week later, the first character you log into will get the auto refine. It's hit or miss if other characters you own will get the auto-refine or not. Eventually the game will simply count you as being logged in and no other characters you log into will get the auto-refine. Kind of random when this point happens.

    If you logged out and had no dilithium ore, when you log in it'll automatically try to refine the ore, say it auto-refined zero dilithium, and then you won't be able to auto-refine on any other character.

    LTS here. I too thought for a long time autorefining didn't work until I actually started to keep a written record of my refined dilithium on all my chars. It turned out that autorefining do work for me, on all chars and under every circumstance I have tried. What does not work is the floater/system message that tells you how much was autorefined. It only displays occasionally.

    Autorefine works. what it does is refining "yesterdays" quota if it has not been used. It does not autorefine what you can refine the day you log on, but the amount you didn't refine on previous days.

    If you refine everyday manually, it will never trigger

    the only thing I do not know is, if it is based on amount or actual days.

    Auto refinement has NEVER worked even once for me, it doesnt matter if i havent logged in/refined for weeks and have plenty of spare ore : the game always greats me with ' dilithium mining failed' upon login

    This is the message you get once you have already used your daily autorefining limit. It will trigger on every instance switch but it's not an indication of autorefining not working. I agree Cryptic could easily have used a less confusing message. My recommendation is still that anyone who experience trouble with this makes a note of your currently refined dil on some spare toon, then wait 3 days and check what the refined dil reads after logon.

    It's always worked for me. Since they added dilithium to the game, I have never once hit the refine button. All my dilithium is autorefined.

    What I do not understand about this feature is that it seems to be a benefit to NOT LOG IN?

    Why would an MMO developer encourage players, gold members or not, to stay away and not play their game for a week?

    It makes no sense at all to me...:eek::confused:

    Ok I just checked some things.

    Fact is:
    - Automatic dilithium refining for gold members does work.
    - HOWEVER it does not give you an announcement of doing so
    - AND it only refines for the days you have not logged in. I'd appreciate if it also refined the current day you are logging in.

    I have only ever had auto-refine work for one single day (8000 worth) on my main character and none on my two alts, I to know the EXACT circumstances required for the auto-refining process to work because it's beginning to feel like I'm a hoodwinked LTSer, which I really hope isn't the case and that I've got the procedure wrong somewhere.

    I play STO through Steam, btw.

    As this thread is dead and gone (check the dates on the posts), I'd suggest you try the support forums with a new thread.

    Hint: Necro / Zombie revival is not allowed - You may get a warning. If the last post is over 30 days, make a new thread ;)

    (oh and my auto refine works ok.)
