NPC Scimitar improvements - make them deadlier

First of all, this is not a thread of I can't beat the Scimitar, Fleet Alert vs romulans is too difficult, blablabla. I usually own the Scimitar in fleet Alert, and Khitomer end is usually less than 60 seconds of firepower with my fleet.

The problem with a Scimitar is its tactics. Not much lethal firepower, but a lot of cloaking, then a Thalaron burst which any player will know to evade (my first Scimitar fight, when I saw that green cone coming out of it, I knew it wouldn't be smart to stay in that cone). Fighting this dreadnought means Evasive Maneuvers. And that is all the challenge. I find a D'deridex a bigger challenge than a Scimitar.

So, what I really would like is making the Scimitar a more difficult opponent, while also making her much more realistic for the average PUG Fleet Alert.

Seeing how the Crystalline Entity works in stages, would it be possible to make any Scimitar also work in stages?
I'm thinking of something like this.

100-75% - Scimitar is visible all the time, firing large barrages of firepower on players.

75-50% - when a player comes within 5 km, the Scimitar cloakes. Instead of thalaronning everything when decloaking, the Scimitar can open fire while cloaked in a similar fashion as the Scimitar Dreadnought Warbird's console can, with a same duration. After this cloaked barrage, the Scimitar decloaks again and resumes firing.

50-25% - The Scimitar will also begin firing thalaron pulses upon decloaking. She will keep firing the cloaked barrages.

25-0% - The Scimitar now cloakes at will, whether a player is within 5 km or not. Both Cloaked Barrage and a Thalaron Pulse will be fired.

Now, we all know that a Scimitar's cloak is very hard to break canon, and impossible in-game (while running 130 aux power with the Nebula console activated, I could not see Donatra until she decloaked in 0.01 km from me). Another advice: make the cloak breakable, but only during Cloaked Barrage. This will mean that during a cloaked Scimitar, players will need their aux and shield power. When somebody suddenly starts to loose shields, the hunt is on :D.

This way, the Scimitar Dreadnought, which should be the strongest of them all, will have much more realistic combat, will be a lot more tougher to fight (she deals more damage in raw firepower instead of ever-missing thalaron bursts) and will not be annoying due to the ever-cloak.

I am not sure if this is realistic in terms of developing, but anything inspired upon this idea (or any other) will be most welcome in my opinion.

    If this happens, and your in a team with romulans, all they need to do is cloak when she does it and your alone with a cloaked ship killing you over and over again... and you think this is fun ???

    That is why I called for breaking the cloak during the barrage. A sci vessel tracks down the scimitar, the rest of the team charge in.

    As for taking damage: any self-respective ship should be able to tank a few seconds of heavy fire. Even escorts.

    But yes, there is a little bit of a new use for sci vessels and cruisers in here.

    And if all the Romulans in your team cloak: well then you have found less than decent people. Which is what you find anyway.

    Well practice already hardest boss to beat maybe make Admiral rank out add level combine few other make that type change.

    Its not really the hardest boss to defeat. You rarely die if you know to avoid Thalaron pulses. Its the cloaking that makes it take some time.

    Cryptic doesn't really do difficult ... They do grindy. Don't see that changing anytime soon.

    Although making Scimitars more tough, they also become more grindable. In a smart team, any Scimitar will first cloak at 25%, because of the 5km rule.
