With no sign of Hollywood slowing down with remaking movies or even TV shows. (Has anyone seen Ironside yet?) I figured why not see what remakes we the fans would love to see happen, and what would you do if you were in control of that project.
So lets hear some ideas.
What remakes would you do for the Movies and TV shows?
Me:
I would take control of the Logan's Run mess, and make a remake of the original movie. The Original movie is ok, but very dated now, and could use a nice updated version I think.
For TV I would remake Good Times, well more like make is a next generation show. Bring back alot of the original people, and show what life is like after 30 years.
How about making a Star Trek: Voyager where stuff had some measure of permanence, the Starfleet and Maquis crew members had some actual conflict and factionalism and Neelix got thrown out the airlock after the first time he nearly destroyed the ship, and somebody fact-checks the technobabble to make sure they don't do anything blatantly stupid (*cough* crack in the event horizon *cough*).
The thing that irritates me most about Voyager is that the show had such potential and it was completely squandered.
"Great War! / And I cannot take more! / Great tour! / I keep on marching on / I play the great score / There will be no encore / Great War! / The War to End All Wars"
— Sabaton, "Great War"
All Star Treks aside, there was a show on UPN that used to run for a few years right before Voyager called Seven Days. It had a good premise, decent characters, and was just a fun watch. This show is recent enough where some of the original actors could be brought back in addition to a handful of revamped cast in order to continue the stories of Operation Backstep.
asmodeus451 I am with you on making an new Logan's Run an action movie. Also, I would expand on the dome city a ton more, show more of the day to day life, and add robots to the Sandman ranks.
I would also have more than just 1 old man outside the dome city, I would make it a small village of people, along with a couple runners that made it out the dome. The village would have no high tech and very hands on type of setup.
I don't understand why it's sooooooo hard to just up date this movie, and make a few changes here and there. It don't have to be a carbon copy of the original movie, just keep the core storyline, and make it walk it's own path.
Like I said if I was doing it, I would get it done and make it great.

Seven Days was a good show. I just wish the operator would not scream OMG everytime they called in after a backstep.
I would like to see a Wing Commander movie. Either a redo or a continuation of the movie storyline as outlined by the Telep book trilogy.

Captain - U.S.S. Tiger's Claw
TOS Veterans Fleet
The show called The Good Guys. It was a funny cop show that was on for 2 seasons and got cancelled. I wouldn't remake it. I would pick up where it left off.
I would restart Star Trek and have it set up where the prime and JJ verse exist. Ultimately the JJ verse will have to be dealt with. Destroyed or erased, whichever.
I would want to restart The Shield. Pick up were Vic is wasting away his years doing that nothing job, but is pulled back into the streets for some reason.
I would remake Batman and Robin, and/or Batman forever, but you know.... make them not suck so hard. Seriously... it wouldn't even be that hard. I would even have it animated if need be, but those characters could have worked so well if they hadn't been based on the adam west camp.
As for Tv shows, i think i would go with Monster Force. Yeah, that's right, i went there. But instead of making it a cracked out 90's cartoon, i would place it more into the 1800's where most of the stories took place then give it a light steampunk feel instead of everyone having crazy super high tech power armor. I would also upgrade the stories to be more for adults and older kids, so i can make the monsters a little more book accurate and actually imposing.
Star Wars Episode I-III... did not like the actors, especially Padme and Anakin.. duh. And Episode I was a total childfest, with Jar-Jar Binks. I'd shoot Gungans for the laughs, seriously. Ruined the whole Episode I completelly. So, yup, would love to see a remake, without some stupid things, which are ruining it for me... :P

I would restart the Dresden Files on SciFi channel.
I would rework Space Above and Beyond to be more of a real war setting ( with no whining Wes).
And restart the Blade TV series.

Ah, Space: Above and Beyond, how I miss you. Chiggy von Richthofen must die, says the Angriest Angel!
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

The rest, sure!

I know they did the movie already, but a TV series remake would be fun:
"Get Smart!"
Steve Carell should reprise the role. No way they'd get Anne Hathaway but they could cast just about any smart, trim actress in the role of Agent 99 and put a brunette wig on if necessary. They could do NSA jokes and have random sightings of Edward Snowden.

Blake's 7, such an amazing idea, it amazes me that any remake hasn't actually left the pre-production stage yet, it's only ever been remade as a full cast audio drama.
And it should have the same ending as the original series too, that was so SPECTACULAR
Dragonfly an old cargo ship (resembles a dragonfly insect somehow) is commanded by a rebel army sargeant. Rebels or Red Ribbon army (RR army) as they are called, lost against the powerful Sayan Military in a civil war. The crew also consist of a first officer that also served with the sargeant in the RR army, pilot who is also the first officer's wife. There are also a mercenary, an engineeer, a strange companion and a priest of some kind. They are looking for orange balls scaterd around the galaxy. They contain codes to activate a powerful weapon developed by RR army called The Dragon or Shenron. In the first episode they take two passangers on board a doctor and his brother that was genetically modified by the Sayan army. They crossbred him with an...
On second thought let's leave Dragonball and Firefly separated.

Nobody gets in until the Federation decides to make bigger doors.
I'd go back in time to 1989 to remake Star Trek V.
Hire real writers and a real director instead of Shatner, discard 95% of the plot (I like the idea of a Vulcan who has lost logic and gone wacky spiritual, though, I'd keep that but change the character and the nature of his quest dramatically).
I'd like to re-shoot Metropolis from the original script and direction notes, just using contemporary actors ( Kaley Cuoco as Maria ) and modern effects.
I'd also like to remake La Dolce Vita, with Jude Law in the central role.
Otherworld, a very short-lived show with an interesting premise. Mark Lenard was one of the guest stars.
Since you've likely never heard of it, Otherworld told the story of a vacationing family that stumbled into a dimensional portal (no, not Land of the Lost), to arrive on an alternate Earth that was hostile, more advanced than Earth (crystaline technologies, advanced agriculture, automated vehicles, android miners, etc.), and quasi-Fascist. They discover eventually that the portal was the start of a path ancient rulers used to take to learn from the more advanced world, and return to rule more powerfully. The family just wants to get back home. They're boosted in their efforts when they manage to steal a high-ranking officer's ID and use it to create fake identities and help them find clues for crossing the controlled zones looking for the path home.
I'd also be interested in a TV Wild, Wild West remake, with all the special effects and steampunk-ishness we can cook up today. But nothing like the Will Smith movie please (except maybe the train and the spider, those were kinda cool).

it would likely turn into a Action flick, but i can see it being a good one

Crime Story... not sure who would play the lead, but since it was really a kind of proto-Sopranos, itd fit in really well these days.
Dragonfly? Fireball?
I would do a decent remake of The time machine, not the crappy 2001 remake w Guy Pearce.
Parallels: my second mission for Fed aligned Romulans.
And it should have the same ending as the original series too, that was so SPECTACULAR

OOOH, that would be cool. Loved that movie!
Or Space:1999
(Would recall it Space:2199)
I hope STO get's better ...
