That's not very logical reasoning, especially when the first year was under Atari. And their budget was smaller than it is today. But once Perfect World took over, we went from a trickle of Starships to a flood of Starships.
Given Cryptic gave out FREE Ships during the Second and Third Anniversaries, gave away Free Ships during the past 2 Winter Events, as well as the recent Summer Event, your point might be not very statistically accurate. :P

Little early for them to announce details, don't you think? They never really reveal the details about the Anniversary until January.
We've probably been gifted with Cruisers for our Anniversaries because Trek (for the most part) has been Cruisers (and the odd Science Ship). I think the Defiant was the only ship that was tactual orientated, and that wasn't even in a full show.
Besides, we've got enough Tactical ships already, and the idea / request of a giant Bird of Prey? No thanks!
I would go with anything BUT an ugly Kitbash like the Yeager...
Please... a new Original Cryptic Design would be cool... something different than just a rehash or yet another old as Ef Ship that has no actual place in this time...

Or what about the chance for a free Veteran Ship, a free FLeet ship. THere are many ways to make users happy that can not afford to spend much money but still want to have a decent ship.
And whats about the upcoming season 8? will there be a new Rank and a new free ship? that would make 2 then in a short time.
Hey all! So the next season will be focusing on Voyager series. I vote that the new Federation ship should be the Dauntless- Arturus's ship that had particle synthesis and quantum slip-stream. For the Klingons, and Romulans, I suggest we go with those giant BOP's too. As a side, I really feel the Galaxy class star ship in STO is inaccurate. It seems to be like flying a paper air plane to me, it gets torn apart and doesn't have much power. Galaxy class star ships should be battle cruisers. I don't want to sit in my ready room and drink tea all day!:D

For the Fourth Anniversary, the only starship addition that piques my interest is a free version of as-yet-unseen Republic Flagship. To be followed soon after by its three-pack C-store variants. Another free Starfleet and Klingon starship might also be likely at that time. But I wouldn't expect either one to be as significant.

Hm... The Oberth is in the C-Store already, but that didn't stop them from making an AHC Retrofit as well as the Advanced Heavy Cruiser both in the C-Store...
It would have to be T5, I think... (As is the only other two ships with Fed cloaking devices, and it would provide balance there as the Gal-X is a Cruiser and Defiant Retro is an Escort, the Peg would be a Science Vessel...)
I'm not sure how the interphasic traits could be included though - my first thought is a temporary invunerability when cloaking, but since it's not a battle cloak, you wouldn't likely be cloaking while getting shot at anyway...
Giving it an Intrepid Retro-like "Invunerable, but can't shoot back" ability to represent the interphasic ability would be overpowered added to the cloak... unless it had something like a ten or fifteen minute cooldown...

Oh jeez, not another K'vort request thread. I really wish people would get over that crappy ship, it was a size mistake of a special effects guy that somehow made it past the editors. Let it go, it's a BOP that was sized to the wrong dimensions. Dream of a real ship, not this POS.

The ship class was mothballed ~120 years ago, canon-wise. Let it go. Let it stay dead. Stop trying to stagnate the franchise because you can't let go.

Afraid Cryptic already used Vod'legh / Voodieh as the varient skin for the Vo'Quv. Still not sure why they did that.
But I could dig a Romulan D-7, we need it, all they have to do is plaster a Firebird as part of the paintjob.
