I'd been looking forward to the IDIC being available again for some of my newer toons - always nice to have a team friendly tribble. But my experience with them doesn't justify the price.

Ah well thanks anyway.
I agree.
Many of the tribbles in the exchange are cheaper and better. Instead of buying one tribble for 300 zen, you can buy three separate ones for 5,000 ec each. IDIC will only allow you to use one of the buffs, which aligns with your specific career type. You can just buy them individually. ...and, they are not character bound.
Not too sure about the 300z price but one thing to note, unless they changed it, is that the IDIC bonuses were applied to an area. So if you were 100m away from the team you wouldn't get the buff from another team mate. Thats the one thing that made me choose a radan or fleet tribble as my go to tribbles for ground rather than the IDIC tribble.

IDIC Tribble Now Available, for a long period of time you were able to get this Tribble for free on ESD when you were a certain level. Why did you change this to a C-Store Item now?

I hate to ask... but was it unavailable between this news item and the last?
Anyway, my opinion hasn't changed: there are better alternatives available, and the damage resistance magnitude buff for an Engineering captain makes it unlikely that you will ever get the full team bonus. What I refer to for the latter is how damage resistance actually functions, and that you get a lower damage resistance % from the IDIC Tribble than you can gain as a damage bonus from say the Neilson or Harrington Tribbles... much less the Gambling Device when "You Win!", though the Gambling Device requires Lobi or someone selling one on the Exchange. In any case, if you're an Engineering captain, use something else.
Still, for a single item unlock at 300 Zen apiece... not really my cup of tea, Earl Grey, hot. I suppose if you have a team you know will cover the other professions it might be okay...
With each passing day I wonder if I stepped into an alternate reality. The Cubs win the world series. Donald Trump is President. Britain leaves the EU. STO gets a dedicated PvP season. Engineers are "out of control" in STO.
Got it during event, I say if your a team player get it.. full 3 type crossover bonus is better than any other tribble (sci/tac/eng in same team ak with tribble)
to have an idic tribble is a nice idea but it would have nice if this purchase also included a uniform idic medallion to be worn around the neck of my character.
I am a firm believer in the idea behind the idic philosophy as I believe it was intended to be taken when introduced into the star trek story line, to live in peace and harmony and equality with others regardless of race colour creed religion or gender and I believe the world would be a much better place if everyone was to live by this.
therefore i would like my belief in the idic philosophy to be seen by all and an idic medallion is a great way to show this to others in game.
When I think about everything we've been through together,
maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,
and if that journey takes a little longer,
so we can do something we all believe in,
I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

The c-store one is for people who weren't around then.
Bleed Green and Gold
