This is why I only play Klingons on the KDF side. It would just be too weird to have an Orion character and crew exclaiming, "By Kahless!" all the time, the same for KDF Romulans as well.
At the moment, the crew of the I.R.W. Aehallah just have to grit their teeth every time someone calls them "Federation", or "Starfleet". Their time will come. I have a Thalaron weapon. :P

This character is why I don't play my Romulan any more. Tovan Khev is NOT my BFF! Get him off my bridge!
lol at all the pple complaining saying ROMULANS were rushed. You PPLE Fail first you complain there are no romulan faction and so CRYPTIC puts it out for you now you complain it was rushed. CRYPRTIC cant win can they lol?
Ohai Ambassador Surah... Im happy to escort you to the Deferi hom...wait did you just refer to me as Federation?? What part of this Romulan Warbird, the name d'Hvei'khenn, or the R.R.W. prefix says Federation? Bah... moving on... BTW Ambassador did you notice the Breen are smart enough to recognize a Romulan when they attacked? No? Ah well, please come aboard and explain this ****, Ill meet you in the observation lounge where.... WHAT THE HELL?? Is this some kind of a prank Tovan??! Why does the lounge look like something off a Galaxy Class ship?! *sigh* Ok Surah spill the beans... dude... you just called me Federation again.... this is a Republic issue uniform which looks nothing like Starfleet's... are you blind and dumb?!
I am waiting to get there in my Tholian ship, so I can ask Tovan. "So if this is in here, why am I in one room with just a federation engineer with a tricroder?"

Since the beginning of Open beta I have railed against Cryptics treatment of the Romulans so much i've probably gotten a reputation as a troll or something on here.. Lets face it though.. Cryptic is a business and its the job of every business to spend as little money as possible while earning the greatest amount of profit possible. We all pretty much fell for that one. They wont change any lines for the KDF or the Romulans, and they will never ever make the Romulans a full faction. It would cost them money whioch eats into their profits.. And lets face it, as long as they keep coming out with pretty new space ships we're going to keep buying them and keep making them money. thats just the way it is.. They arent going to change anything because they dont have too. Theyre rich ( for now ) and happy. why should they care?? No one is going to leave. no one is going to do anything besides post in a orum where Cryptics involvement is transitory at best.. Hell, the game isnt even star trek any more.. its fly your little ships around, get blown away and grind like hell.. They get their money. Thats all they care about.. we get little ships too pew pew with.. I guess they think we should be happy..

To be fair, while profit is obviously their first priority, I'm sure they also want their players to enjoy their game. Tweaking some of the dialogue in a few episodes wouldn't take too much effort.
"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them." -Thomas Marrone
Its not the dialog they have to tweak. its the coding that recognizes you as being klingon or fed.. They would have to put in a whole nuther sub routine to recognize romulans, but that would require that romulans be romulans as a whole ( a full faction ) and not kdf or fed, so you see, its more than they'll ever be willing too do.

Better that a Reman be called a Romulan rather than a Klingon or Human.
Doesn't make it right though does it? :P
