CE Elite is broken again!

Well the CE event has started and the Elite version spawns so many mirror ships that you can't even reach the thing to shoot it.

    The CE now randomly adds extra things in there to help it. one of them can be extra ships.

    its ok on normal as the numbers are manageable, im not sure how many it spawns on elite, but maybe its too much.

    It literally doesn't stop spawning them; we had to bail out with over 50 of them on-screen.

    It isn't a "power gamers" issue it is an issue that it is not puggable now because you end up on teams who will not shoot the ce.

    I just ran it again and steamrolled it. Evidently some of the instances are bugged. If you get one that is not possible to beat leave and re-enter.

    elite u can get CE down to 33...then no luck...

    tons of mirror ships...even near spawn point forcing new spawn to activate.

    u almost need a minimum 5 FAHCR beam boats wit BFAW to just manage the mirror ships and tank, and just about everyone needs warp plasma, theta vents, or subspace integration circuit for crowd control otherwise.

    just finished a pug elite ce w/ mirror ships and holy TRIBBLE
    was in my sci toon with no goodies in the nebula refit and it was pure crazyness
    once the ce moved away from the spawn area, it went down quick

    dont mind the extra ships, just wish i was in my fleet excel w/ 80k hull and beams o death for that round

    It's not just the elite version. I'm nowhere near 'leet enough for that, and I got into an instance that was full of rifts spitting out mirror frigates - too many to count.

    Silly me, trying to play an event on the first day. I'll be back this weekend, maybe, after they've got it fixed(?).

    I hope they don't tone this down. It's a lot more fun this way, and good teams (aka not public queue) have no problem with it.

    haha was this the one i was in on my torkaht?

    we were getting rocked til we moved it away from the spawn, then it was easy peasy.

    The mega mirror spawn is apparently random. When it hits big time the mission is unplayable.

    i don't understand why they changed the mechanics of this fight! Was good as it was. IDK why there is a need to rework (and break) content that ISN'T broken, instead of pushing new content.
    If they so desperately need to rework stuff, they should take a look at teradome.

    Anyway, bugged out only 1 time out of 8 tries, hope that tomorrow it doesn't bug more often.

    It was way too easy as it was. Adding the random element mixes things up nicely.

    it is still easy, except the 80+ mirror cruisers spawning all over.

    Confirming OP. even for power gamer groups with 10 players who are ultra elite. Sheer number of enemies that continuously spawn in phase 2 make it unbeatable (comboed with current broken shield system).

    If this is by design, designer needs to be fired, drawn and quartered, and burned.

    They never seemed to pose much threat in any of the runs I've done so far. Any good tanking cruiser could take on all of them at once. I also managed to trap 20 or so in a grav well, with predictable results.

    feel lucky then that you had a grp that actually managed to kill the entity intime.
    I'd say that once 30+ ships are onto you anybody dies from the bleedthrough.

    seems that the rapid spawn starts after the 33% phase.

    they don't spawn everytime it seems, didn't even see a mirror ship in 7 out of 8 runs. But in that one run, there were rifts everywhere and atleast 5 cruisers popping out within a minute.
    i estimate more than 80 ships.

    Three of the ones I did successfully had the mirror overspawn. In fact I am pretty sure the OP of this thread was in the one we successed on my torkaht (edit; wrong thread, god theres 8 of these now?)

    We almost failed it, but somehow managed to pull the entity out of the spawn point. We still had mirrors all over the place, but once the majority of us stopped using fire at will, the entity died rather quickly, actually.

    I honestly think the root problem is players do not know how to handle situations where they shouldnt be using aoe, since practically everywhere up til now encourages it, heavily.

    ... using bfaw is what gets you killed actually

    dont shoot the mirror ships. just the entity.

    I concur, I also did elite runs with five of my characters in the pug ques. The 1st run with the Mirror Verse spam I had a Potato Ship with MKX common weapons, got 2nd place although it took longer.

    Even running one of my BFAW/A2B ships I just powered though it with shear firepower. If you AOE you better be able to tank what comes back, or kill everything in 10 kms.

    I find that if one, just one person keeps debuffing the Entity with Tachyon Beam 1 the CE just gives up and dies. If you got a carrier slot the EC store Delta Flyers they work even better.
    My Romulan Liberated Borg character made it to Level 30 and beat the (old) Defense of New Romulus with the skill point bug. :D

    Ya my easiest run was on one of my sci toons that rolls with tykens actually. that skill does amazing things to the entity, like weaken the hell out of it

    It's pretty nasty... Even in normal difficulty. Those mirror ships LITERALLY blocked out the sky. They were so thick you couldn't see the CE itself.

    On top of that they were all using that super powered warp speed in local space bug, and had SUPER AGRO -- I had no less than 50 pounding me. I could NOT escape. EPTW, evasive maneuvers, getting the hell out of there and then suddenly 10 of them intantly followed me at warp 10 and kept pounding me.


    Stupid programming. Seriously stupid programming

    EDIT: to be fair this only seems to happen with the mirror ships, and not always. When it happens it is insanely dumb. When it works, it's fine.

    I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
    I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.

    If you aren't in one of the dps channels, I wouldn't call yourself a power gamer.

    I'm not in one, so I guess I can't call myself one either. I did however rip through the MU without heals in CE elite twice so I guess I do alright.

    I must be the only one who finds this mission boring, You just basically sit and shoot one target. Can't see what all the fuss is about. But then I didn't use aoe, and spent more time typing 'dont use aoe!!' than anything else. And im a nub.
