1 Problem stuff that was unique about Klingons are gone. Battle Cloak no longer unique to Klingon Bird of Prey ships. Enhanced Battle Cloak no longer Unique to Klingon B'Rel. Carriers no longer unique to Klingon. They don't care about factions being totally unique. So now it is only fair to Klingon players to have similar stuff that Fed and Romulans have. Why should the Klingon not have some new stuff?
What Klingon players want is some of the stuff other sides have like a Klingon faction specific Escort type ship with a Hanger or a Science ship with Aux weapons and a Hanger. Klingons are more aggressive and warlike yet the Federation has more aggressive warlike ships make no sense whatsoever.
When was it the last time Klingons got a end game level tier 5 C-Store ship?
Well this brings up a problem I was talking about with my Fleet the other day. Klingon cloak is kind of junk now. The KDF Bird of Prey is inferior to just about any Romulan ship out there. Romulan ships get tip top Cloak, but they also have far superior hull, shields, and even a bunch of innate abilities that toughen the ship, better tactical consoles, and more weapon slots. The BoP allows you to make interesting builds, but it will never be a science ship, it gives you Captain level weapon slots and console slots, and the worst hull and shields in the game. Now compare this to a Mogai, a Tvaro, hell even a D'deridex or a Scimitar.
I don't know if I need a new ship for the KDF side, I"d like to see them just fix up the Bird of Prey in light of sweeping changes to game systems that have otherwise made it a vastly weakened ship in relation to its same-tier competition.
It would also be nice to see some Fleet Variants of other ships in the Kdf line, and maybe some other ships in the KDF line. For example, I'd like to see a Orion Marauder with 2 hangar bays. The Orions are clearly into flying Carriers, so why not? I'd like to see an Orion Escort class vessel (base it off the pets of one of these ships if you have to). I'd like to see a Nausicaan Cruiser like the enemy Nausicaans have. I'd like to see a Lethean ship of any kind, I do believe its spoken of somewhere. I'd like to see a Fleet Varanus, so the KDF at least have an option of a full on Science ship at the top tier that fits theme. Perhaps a Gorn Escort of some kind.
This isn't the only thing in my Klingon side wishlist though. There are Costume pieces that were simply never finished on the Klingon side, that npc's wear all the time. I could go a long time on this topic, but I'll make one example. Nausicaan NPC's get full body armor in their costume sets that include the legs. Players do not, and when a Nausicaan player wears the full set of armor available to them it looks ridiculous because its like a Knight not wearing armor on his legs, but he's got these big metal boots and a big metal cuirass and gloves. It just makes no sense. I'd love to see the Nausicaan boot-locking gun available, but that's something else altogether.
I'm very happy that finally after so many ground combat pets have been in game they finally added an attack dog for the Klingons. To be honest, I was rather annoyed that the first ground attack pet was a Horta when that came out. A Horta. From the get go it seemed obvious to me that Klingon captains should be able to use attack dogs. It was made even obvious by the fact that a whole class of enemies that you fight (NPC Klingons, NPC Gorn) send attack Dogs and attack Saurs after you. This Animal Handler feature only recently made it into the game, but it would be nice to see them do more with it for the Klingons. I do recall they'd talked about making it part of a Kit power potentially, and it has gotten bandied about with the talk of Custom Kits (I really hope they add this).
Well, I'm going to stop here. I'm full of suggestions for what they need to do for the Klingon side. I love the Klingon side, but it has a lot of gaping holes in it for the players who love it. I love playing a Romulan as well, but to be honest I don't notice as many gaping holes in their setup. I'll be honest there are a few things I'd like to see them do. One of which is make it so you can at least play a Cruiser or Escort class at all tiers of the Romulan progression (since the power loadouts are different for each). I'd like to see them remove the Quantum Mortar and put in a Plasma Mortar. It just makes sense. I'm very happy they changed the Phaser/Disruptor Turret to Plasma for the Romulans, but it would be nice to see them use a little different Munitions. (This is also true of the Klingons). I really have a lot to say, but I'll just end with a Rah rah! Lets see them add more and hope that suffices.
Now that the new ship gets it's own hangar bay (doesn't even make sense but hey...) it simply begs the question; should we all just get rid of our Fed and KDF toons and all make Romulans? It isn't like KDF is ever going to get one of those escorts with a hangar bay and it even looks to me that the treasured Federation side had been thrown on the back seat as well...
Why don't the Bortas and Odessey get a nice hangar bay? That'd make sense, they're the new capital ships of the KDF and Federation. Why doesn't the KDF get a nice Vesta-like science ship or at least it's own escort with a nice hangar bay? WHY give a ship that is made as a true hit and run escort a hangar bay? Romulans got the Scimitar for that, and that does make sense if you look at the size of the Scimitar ships. I'm just lost and confused on this one here...
It's simple: right now the Rommulans are a money maker. So the dev's are spoiling Rommie player with stuff like this. They did the same thing to the KDF, by giving the Feds more toys and ignoring the KDF. So we now know that they only creat content for which ever faction is the current "fav" -- in other words, the one making the most money.
An occational toy that hardly anyone uses, hand-me down faction ships and getting to hear the incessant whining from Fed players sitting on mountains of stuff constitutes being "spoiled"? I'd hate to see what happens if they didn't like us.

While I'm sure theres some truth to that, I'm not sure its the whole story.
I have zero problem with the Roms getting some more choices, especially in the area of ships.
Even the KDf have more variety in that regard.
Where I'm a little concerned is the power creep going on.
What with embassy consoles, Rom rep stuff etc, a classic plasma build on virtually any end game Rom ship requires less thought, care or strategy to make viable than virtually anything else in the game.
It's like we've stopped playing rock, paper, scissors and now we're just playing ROCK.
Breadth of choice, unique flavour of play is one thing........but I'm not sure play balance is getting the care and attention it deserves.
Good to know. Well that's one feather in their cap. It still would be nice for them to look at the way cloak works on the KDF side. It might also make sense for them to look at boff passives in general, and make some more interesting space passives for KDF side. As it is, there are only a couple of passives I'm aware of, one of which is extremely rare and in the hands of only a few players (Veteran Klingon Officer) and Efficient Lethean.
I think the fact that Romulans and Remans have more and varied and interesting Boff passives is a great thing, in fact I'd always wanted to see them do more with the Boff passives in the game. I just think to be honest they need to start adding something interesting to the Klingon and dare I say it, the Federation? My interest in these Boff Space Passives isn't to do with creeping up the power, but more to do with a desire to give more Variety in our builds. I think the Romulan faction did a great thing in this regard, and to be honest I'd like to see them add even more interesting and creative space passives available for boffs. This would be Even cooler if they actually went and utilized the Boff-Eating dynamic that was originally proposed and described in their plans for the Doff and Department Head system.
In this way you could 'eat' a doff to add an interesting and useful passive to one of your Key boffs that you are attached to, rather than having to Geordi out the airlock simply because you have a newer better officer with interesting Passives. For me personally, I like to see my crew develop. That's part of the fun of watching any TV Series, including Star Trek, and its nice to feel that sense of development in the game as well. As it stands, Bridge Officers don't really develop as a character. I"d love to see this idea implemented into the game.

I think its a little hard to fault them for wanting to make money with the Romulans. For starters they put a lot of their effort into getting the faction up and running, and its popular with the players right now in large part because its fresh and new and its been desired for a very long time. Additionally, the Romulan Fleet does need some fleshing out, particularly I'd say up the ranks for those players who wish to develop as a more 'tanky/healer' type of a role. I'm not particularly impressed with the Science aspect, from the standpoint of a ship class in the Romulan sphere. Don't get me wrong I think the Ha'nom is cool, but its weaker power levels leave something to be desired in a science ship. Damage output is already bad on a Science ship, but those lower numbers just make playing a Ha'nom a little less interesting than most. That's my judgment on it anyway. The 'Science' of a Romulan ship seems to be built more around either a Sciencey Cruiser build or in the Singularity powers themselves. I doubt I'm the only one who feels that way, and I'm fine with that. I like the distinctions of the Romulan faction. I think its also good they're doing things to touch up on key flaws with it. Its my hope they'd do the same for the KDF. There are still some touchups the KDF could use.
I love the hate that comes out from the KDF aimed at the Feds. To continue with the children with toys analogy, Feds are like the firstborn child. For a long time, they got everything because they were the ONLY child, then comes along the second (KDF) and more attention gets heaped on them. First child may not like it, but has plenty, but the second child isn't content with the mountains of toys thrown at him, no, he screams bloody murder every time and any time the first child gets something and he doesn't, saying the first already has so much, he deserves NOTHING. Then comes the baby (Roms) who is naturally going to get a lot of attention from Mom and Dad, and yet still, second child screams bloody murder anytime First and Baby get something and he doesn't.
Your victim mentality was warranted....once upon a time. No longer. Grow the f^@% up and give it a rest.

Oh, sorry... Actually that analogy was by myself, not the KDF side. I spend my time currently mostly with my Rom and partially leveling my new Fed Eng toon..... But thanks for playing we have some lovely parting gifts for you and a copy of our home game.

Klingons have been ignored for so long wile the favorite kept getting more and more wile the Klingons starved. Romulans arrive getting so much better stuff then Klingons have. Klingons want to get some love once in a wile. How long has it been when Klingons got love from a new C-Store end game level tier 5 ship?

Apart from the minor issue of the KDF being there along side the Federation from launch.
And for those asking the last time the KDF got a tier 5 C store ship was 2 years ago, that was the Bortas which was launched along side the Oddesy class.
ok Feds have absalutely NO reason to even think that they dont get much considering all of the new ships they got recently. KDF i can very much understand needing some more love, but come on the romulans only just came out and have a very small selection of ships and really NEEDED an alternative to the engineer heavy dederi'dix and honestly need some sci or engi orientated ships for the lower tiers also although i honestly dont see a reason for the new ships to get a hanger, bay, it just doesn't make any sense what so ever

Oh my, you sound like you've been having nightmares about Dahar Master Kor.
However, he died a warrior's death defending the I.K.S.Rotarran from the Jem'Hadar so no need to worry, it's all in your head. :D

There wasn't really a need for it, technically speaking.... more of an attempt to add something to boost sales. I personally still have no interest in it (love my scimitar, personally)...... frankly my next c-store ship purchase will likely be something for my Fed-eng when she hits 50.

Except the second child didn't get the mountains of toys thrown at it and you just happened to leave out the first child whines more about not getting a toy than the second.
Can't have a honest conversation because of a white knight with power

Um...look at the Game Updates list. Almost every single Season has had a KDF focus. And every single day, moar KDF whine threads. You will never be satisfied, you will never have enough, you will always want more, and you will always throw a tantrum any time a faction other than yours gets anything at all.

Wow! I have to know what you're on because it must be some powerful stuff! You clearly aren't living in the real world judging by that response.

Here's why i have a problem with the new ship, not because Roms got one thats fine.
It's the fact that "we listened to you and updated the ship" what about all the ships we on BOTH side have been asking for updates for? THAT is total BS. I want my updates! how about the GCS thread that is 300 pages strong and growing, or the Dread sorely in need of an update.
And the Rom ships ARE the top of the power creep pyramid right now. If you know what the hell you are doing with them.
If you are going to update a BRAND NEW SHIP why not update the ones that are falling behind?
Inertia just means you can do Powerslides in you carrier!

Money is more important to PWE than making a quality game. Updating the dreadnaught, retrofit galaxy class, and other older ships requires time and resources-time and resources that would be better spent on making small changes to new ships like the tactical warbird because they will generate immense profits for them. The carrier update to the tactical warbird is a blatant money grab and PWE is so brazen now about trying to generate quick profits that they would rather break the current game's balance than properly balance older ships. Again, this is PWE calling the shots. Cryptic no longer has a choice.
Fed: Only Faction with good Science Ships, and decent tank/healers (which are useless now)
KDF: Have the B'rel, as a Godmode stealthhealer, and that's it.
Fed and Rommies MAY be close to equal, KDF needs more strength, stronger bops and carriers probably
And feds need Either cloak, built in tractor beams, or better general shielding.
I honestly feel Federation is okay as it is. Good players in PvP know how to counteract the cloaking tactics to where they don't make as much difference, though it's hard when dealing with Romulans.
The KDF needs more development resources, and the Romulans need more expansion of course. I honestly would've preferred the Romulans being an independent faction. . .have some nice 3-way fights in Ker'rat
And yeah, the KDF BoP class needs a good buff somewhere. I'm leaning towards an improvement to the battlecloak and a boost to impulse mod (maybe up to .21 or .22) to allow for more speed tanking and tricky maneuvering. Either that, or just buff the hull and shield modifier, and get rid of the useless Raptor class entirely. That's about all that really differentiates the two ship classes, anyhow.

Yep, and for every KDF toy, a Fed gets 20 toys, and a romulan gets 2000 toys.
KDF have been ignored. for 7 seasons.
Whenever they give KDF something, The federation, and romulans get a better verson of whatever ther KDF get.
Lockbox Consoles are th eperfect example
The feds get the strongest KDF consoles, in exchange for our weakest Consoles. Fair right?
Klingons have 1 unique ship, the Brel, Fire torps while cloaked? Well the Tvaro has 2x the hull, higher turn rate, and better shields, It Can ALSO fire while cloaked.
Klingons get a Carrier, Feds get a Carrier with a 17turn rate, the same hull as the KDF Carrier, and the ability to mount cannons.
Klingons get the Bortas, Feds get the Oddy, and the vesta.
Klingons get no costumes, ever.
Klingons have 1/3 the bridges the feds have
Klingons have less customization THEN THE NEW ROMULANS. Now that's sad.
Klingons don't have a Steamrunner Equivilant
Klingon ships get Gimped, the original Game Balance lowered KDF Hull and shield base in favor of cloak... Well romulans got cloak, And the same base hull as the fed ships...
Klingons have 2 sectorblocks of missions, feds have 12, Romulans have 3.
Klingons don't have free Space-Trait BOFFs, Feds have humans, Romulans have Romulans, KDF have...
Klingons have a substandard fleet support, Feds spawn a Gal X with a T4 skill of EVERYTHING in STO and 500k HP, ROmulans get a scimitar that can 1 shot a borg cube. KDF get a VoQuov, With the hitting force of a probe, and lots of spam.
KDF have less players because of EVERY flaw listed above, which makes it worse, to do a Faction specific event, I can wait 5min on a fed, or I can wait 5 hours on a KDF.
I honestly feel Federation is okay as it is. Good players in PvP know how to counteract the cloaking tactics to where they don't make as much difference, though it's hard when dealing with Romulans.

The Brels problem is...
Brel: Hull 22k Shield mod 0.7 Turn: 19
Tvaro: Hull 30k, SHield Mod 0.99 Turn: 20
Since at the end of the day, cryptic has killed all possible ways to buff a Brel using its unique layout, You have to use tactical blah blah, Tvaro and brel builds look identical, except the tvaro has an extra BOFF slot too.
And Scimitar vrs Everything KDF has
Scimitar: Lets start with it has a 30 turn rate while cloaked
How about its 50k Buffed hull?
What not better then all KDF ships? 5 Fore slots. Any KDF ships have that? Thought not
Oh oh oh, I got one, Shielded Cloak... >_< >_> <_< >_<
The point im trying to make is, ALL KDF ships need a stat buff, just a base across the board buff, They Are ALL outclassed by something the other factions have, Their vet ship is even weaker then the romulan one, even though they SHOULD both be the same.
The KDF needs a major overhaul, more costumes would be a start.
Carrier wise, with the Feds and the Romulans getting escort carriers, what ship could cryptic base a potential escort carrier on?
The Vo'guv is a good carrier but a little on the slow side so the KDF need an escort carrier.
Point is the KDF have been neglected, and I want to enjoy playing my Klingon but I can't because the Rommies and the Feds have all the good stuff.
Please Cryptic give the KDF some love.

well guess what time for a little payback. You want a better ship than the B'Rel ROLL A ROMULAN an get a T'Varo.
Seriously instead of crying like a bunch of little children, why not make plays for getting our current ships updated. cause clearly they "listen" to ur feedback.....

When the KDF told feds to roll a kdf when they whined about kdf ships, it was half trolling, half serious. The KDF always had a population problem due to you name it-less missions, less clothing and body costumization, and less ships-and had you rolled a KDf it would have helped the KDF grow in numbers.
Now the Romulans have replaced both alien captains and klingon tacs as the dominant faction and race. They have the highest critical hit and chance (Romulan superior operative trait X 5) of any boffs and you can get operative as a romulan racial trait for the cherry on the top.
What do you think comes next after Romulans? The cardi's probably will, and Cryptic will probably give them racial traits and boffs that outmatch even the Romulan's current tactical superiority. So Feds, by all means, have your cheap laughs at the expense of your KDF allies because Romulans will be the next victim of the power creep.

Uh no, first of all the B'Rel has a a turn rate of 23 and inertia of 80. Don't know where you're getting the turn of 19 from. Nothing turns as quickly as a B'Rel can, other than shuttles. Its shield mod is 0.8.
T'Varo has a turn of 18. Hull 27k. It's 5000 more than the B'rel, but it is still less than 30k, and it's still fragile. Its shield mod if 0.9, not 0.99. The Fleet T'Varo has 0.99 and almost-but-not-quite 30K hull. But if you're comparing the Fleet T'Varo to the standard B'Rel, then you're being dishonest. The Fleet B'Rel also has 10% more hull and shields. The difference is still about 5K between them, but they're both glass cannons. But the Fleet B'Rel has close to 25k hull, and a shield mod of 0.88. So get your facts straight.
But the B'Rel has one edge you've completely ignored: it has a totally universal boff setup, while the T'Varo only has one universal boff station. You don't 'have to' use tactical boffs at all, universal means universal. The B'Rel is far more flexible as a result.

Kdf'ers STILL make that argument to Fed's.
Aside from that, Power creepin' whoever is on it sucks. They NEVER should have given more to ONE ship while saying they listenend to peoples feedback.
That is laughable as they took the newest group and the newest ship and UPDATED it. While for years people have been complaining and asking for updates on ships.
Get a goshdarn intern that knows code to update the older ships and test the code, update it to tribble see how people respond. Im pretty sure there are tons of people who go to school for Game design and such that would KILL for an internship at a game company....
Manpower theoretically isn't an issue....

They do have a Fleet Varanus or is http://sto.gamepedia.com/Varanus_Fleet_Support_Vessel that wrong?
It's simple: right now the Rommulans are a money maker. So the dev's are spoiling Rommie player with stuff like this. They did the same thing to the KDF, by giving the Feds more toys and ignoring the KDF. So we now know that they only creat content for which ever faction is the current "fav" -- in other words, the one making the most money.

that was a flag ship bridge I showed....allmost all Klingon bridges seam to have that same issue.
But I guess...it doesn't matter...most of the bridges don't seam to have a full crew manning them anywise.
You cant see from the screen shot...but even that ship has like 5 or 6 chairs empty on the bridge.
Am thinking the federation and Klingons take way too many breaks...>_>
Power without Perception is Spiritually useless and therefore of no true value.
=^_^=
I am Il Shadow and i approve these Shennanigans!

Did I make my point yet?
-Lord Commander Solar Macharius
well guess what time for a little payback.

And the Scimitar has the Reman Bridge.
And the Romulans have the Romulan warbird interiors, are the best looking, aesthetically pleasing in the game, by far.
And the Feds have the Odyssey Bridge.
And then there's the Defiant series of bridges which aren't gargantuan caverns like the older Fed/KDF bridges.
And...
We can go on:D
