Hi Captains,

We will be bringing down Star Trek Online tomorrow, Thursday, September 12th, at 6:30AM PDT (click here to view in your timezone) for maintenance and to apply a new patch. Patch notes can be found here, and we expect this maintenance to last for 3 hours. The test server, launcher and access to manage your account may also be unavailable during some portions of the maintenance.

Thanks for your patience and understanding,

- The Star Trek Online Team

As noted in today's Dev Blog, they are scheduled to go live tomorrow :) We'll make a separate news post once they're available.

The "Hearts and Minds" update has not hit Tribble yet, and is why it was not in the Tribble notes. Also, friendly reminder that the episode is not playable until the date/ time listed on the in-game calendar. We also have a news post about the episode that will go up before the episode becomes available.

    Cheers,

"Hearts and Minds" is on Holodeck now, but it's only available to play on "Friday the 13th" (whenever that falls), and players have played the the episode a few times in the past when it was "Friday the 13th". It sounds like this may be your first time getting to play it, so make sure to check out the news post about it tomorrow when it goes live in the afternoon PDT :) You can also see some details on the in-game calendar now.

    Hey Bran,

Would you please suggest to the Devs to have a "Bug Bash"? There are a lot of bugs many of us have been complaining about for months that just aren't getting fixed (that we know of.) We submit bug reports, and we get no response. We ask for help to the "customer service" and they just tell us to submit a bug report, which seem to be a black hole.

And if in the off chance that someone from PWE actually communicates about a known problem, they just make promises like it'll be fixed "in the near future", but we don't hear anything for months at a time (if ever after the initial promise.)

After I finish up with an offline project, I am going to start up a new Romulan avatar. I am very excited about the new Romulan styled escort ships. When the "Legacy of Romulus" first came out, my initial play though felt a bit dull. I blamed my lack of interest on a lack of variety. Cryptic is making some serious progress, and I am now liking the new Romulan additions. I hope I can use some of my Federation c-store escorts, so I can fill in some of the lulls. I think they are finally turning the corner.

For those toons that have the rewards from Hearts and minds already, is there a new reward available or are we going to end up with triplets??? (Those that have played will know what I mean)

We keep being told over and over and over again for months now that a patch is in the works to fix all the bugs, yet every week the patch notes get smaller and smaller, and the majority of the time the patch notes include more bugs they're introducing into the game because they gotta hit that thursday patch time instead of waiting until everything is smoothed out.

Still waiting/hoping for an atomic sized shake up to get this game going in the right direction.

At least it isn't a 'server stability' patch. I don't know if either of my hearts can take any more of those.

I honestly don't know who is in control of their bug killing team, but it has to be 1 person. I mean the list of bugs is staggering in this game and to have the constant lack of bug fixes each week is just unreal. Been waiting what.. at least 1 month so far on getting the republic romulan clothing clipping issues to be fixed. 1 month and no fix...

I have to ask, not that Ill get an answer.. Did you guys lose a whole bunch of employees at cryptic? Because honestly, I don't see an increase in anything since I last heard you guys increased staff...

Not a flame here but its more of a wow factor then anything.

Bug squashing has to happen in parallel, not devote an entire patch to lest it breaks a hundred other things across multiple systems.

You must also know that bug squashing can only be done by the team that normally works on that content, ie the STF guys will know how to handle the bugs afflicting Donatra, but not player powers or weapon skills.

Throwing more manpower at bug squashing has tremendous diminishing returns (another thread quotes an excellent article describing this in detail), so I'd rather Cryptic: split each dev team into a bug squasher squad + content creator squad, then produce both in parallel.

Really, you need 3 hours for such an minor important patch, which isn't resolving anything serious ??? You're joking. In the meantime, the pesty bug of an overfull mailbox with holodecks mails of the exchange remains untouched, and yeah, to my believes it's created by you coz you (you as in Cryptic) have restricted our mailboxes to 300 mails. Also, the freaky annoying bug of the carriers that can't recall their pets, or even worse as I have noticed lately, not even able to deploy them after the point that people have managed to recall them, remains untouched. Even, the fact that your hangar pet is freaking out on the other side of the map, instead of remaining in the neighborhood of the carrier, isn't a priority. Same as for those that are having ships with a splitting ability, who are wondering the state of their seperated part, and still aren't able to control that part, is still untouched by your devs. Yeah, I would like to see in what state and be able to control it, coz frankly, that seperated part is doing more its own will, but rarely a support to my ship.
OK, if I have to stay here for a while, your cieling ... looks idious.:D

What's wrong with... (Spoiler blacked out)

    Multiple copies of a clone?

    Just sayin'.

I don't recall if you can stack or not.

+1 again. Please! I understand the returns are bad but its a bit of a joke sometimes, someone came back into our fleet after being gone for nearly 2 years, is getting caught up, then starts to ask questions, the most of which "thats a bug, thats also a bug, you can do this if this that or something else bugged." Honestly I think he's thinking of leaving again >.>
