Radiation Damage?

The Nukara Crystalline Resilient Shields "Reduces Radiation Damage to Shields by 20%".

Radiation damage?

If memory serves the only radiation damage that I've seen so far is the radiation of the Hargh'peng Torpedo Launcher, but not even in the most basic PvP someone used against my ship the Hargh'peng Torpedo, so I don't think that this is the right radiation.

But what is the right radiation, then?

Tholians use a couple AE radiation attacks - both on ground and in space.

Specifically in this case, their Recluses can emit a 'cloud' that rapidly destroys anything around them - similar to an Aceton Assimilator firing every tick, but originating from the ship itself.

Frankly, I think the only sound advice that one can give new players at this time is to stay away from PVP in STO.

Thought those two were classed as 'exotic'

Exotic isn't really a specific type, it's a catch-all for fancy technobabble weapons.

Tholian Recluse NPCs spread a little green radiation cloud, too.

I know it's radiation, because whenever I accidentally shoot an AA and it hits my adaptive shields, they gain radiation resistance. And as hevach said, exotic is a pretty wide term. :)

Also Thalaron Pulse has a rad over time effect. Might just be the player version though.
