Romulans and Rep Costumes

Hi all,

It's been my understanding that Romulan toons do not have access to the tailor costumes for the MACO, Adapted MACO, KHG and Omega Force ground sets. I also believe that there is an exception in that Romulan "Alien" toons can use the costumes, although there are some bugs involved. In other words, it's the pure Romulans and the Liberated Borg Romulans that cannot use those costumes.

I just want to verify if the above is correct. Today I was in New Romulus Command and I saw a Romulan female toon wearing the MACO armor. Since we were in New Romulus Command, it's a sure thing that the toon belongs to the Romulan fraction. I could also see the Romulan fraction icon when I clicked on her. So I'm confused as to how she could be wearing the MACO armor. I tried to see the character info to see if she was actually an Alien made to look as a normal Romulan, but the info didn't show up. So that could be an explanation but I couldn't verify it.

I took a screenshot but right now I'm away from home and can't post it. I might do so later if needed.

I would like to know if anyone has personal experience (not hearsay) with Romulans and Rep gear tailor costumes and can provide some wisdom as to what is usable or not. My Rommie (a pure one) will finish Omega rep in a few days and I want to know if those MACO and Omega Force costumes will be available in the Tailor. Otherwise the only reason to get those sets would be for the stats and set bonuses, but I like costumes so that's important to me.

    My pure-blood, non-liberated Romulan captain can wear the Tier 5 Omega Force costume. I've no idea if all the parts are available (since this is the first time I've bothered with a Rep costume unlock) or if this applies to MACO and/or the Adapted versions (but I'm assuming if Omega Force works, the rest will).

    I've seen Fed-aligned Romulans running around in MACO gear with all the appropriate visuals. It appears that the way costumes work for Romulans depends on the faction they ally with - the costume "rules" apply to them too. For example, my Fed-Rom Engineer gets kit and armour visuals; by KDF-Reman Tactical does not get kit and armour visuals (like all KDF characters).

    If it's not bugged, you can.
    My fed Rom have both costume 2 and 3 for OMEGA, and it works. The only problem are the missing part for the hips, which is a bug I suppose. Otherwise, it's fine.

    Now, that's strange. My Fed-Rom Engineer (female) has kit visuals, but no armor visuals. My Rom Boffs don't have armor visuals either, but my Fed Boffs do.

    I bought the maco style 2 for the omega reputation system and can't figure out how to get it to show up. I have gone online and looked for answers there, no luck. All videos online show how to do it with season 6 or earlier tailor but none for season 7. Does anyone know how to get maco style 2 to show up?

    I have a Fed allied Romulan with mk XII MACO gear. I unlocked the costume, and the only difference is she can't have the MACO patch on her arm, which kinda makes sense as she is not a member of Starfleet.

    MACO and OMEGA unform sets show up in the drop down where you select uniform/offduty/formal/etc settings.
