What was the point?

So up to this point, I've been pretty happy with this whole giveaway thing. Its been pretty fair considering I'm playing a Romulan. But because of this choice, now I'm screwed out of the last part of the promotion unless I devote time to a new character fully to claim anything? Yeah, this all just went down the tubes. Thanks for .. nothing now.

    You... *sigh* so the fact that a ship you'll probably never use (there's a reason these aren't exactly popular ships, especially the Marauder) for a faction you're not even playing just ruined your whole week. I'm going to go read the thread from the guy who's mad because he already bought the stuff.

    Same here. Having a part of your players (albeit a smaller one and mostly made up from newer players) getting nothing for the best part of the promotion (I won't even mention the outfits) sucks big time.

    And the only reason for this being "the romulan ships still sells, we haven't made enough money off them" only makes it worse.

    And yea the ships are probably not the best of the bunch, its the idea of it.

    Wow ... *you* made the choice to play Romulan (or not to play Fed / Klingon). Branflakes said earlier that no Romulan stuff would be free because they were still new. The stuff given away is not amazing, unless you didn't have it.

    Your situation has not changed today from yesterday or Monday or last week (i.e. you didn't have the stuff then and you won't tomorrow). You are not missing anything because in the end, it is just computer code.

    Alternatively, start a Fed or Klink now and you'll be able to get Day 1 - 3 easily, maybe Day 4 if you really push buttons fast.

    It's not like every detail about how the rewards would be given, wasn't clearly spelled out.

    they are rewarding the people who have stuck by them thru thick and thin..... not their fault that you are only starting to get into the STO universe, or not playing fed/klink and arent eligable for the items yet....

    better start humpin' if you really want the free stuff.....

    STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

    Ok. I'm screwed too... since I have neglected my Klingon (still level 22)... but I realize that it was my choice to neglect him. You neglected to work on/create Klingon or Fed characters... That was your choice! GET OVER IT.

    So as a Romulan... you haven't gotten any new ships lately? New costumes? Say... within the launch of LoR?

    These are all things that they have not been profiting from and, as a result, might as well give away. The Romulan "faction" is too new for them to gauge any statistics from.

    Wait 'til next year... or whenever they might hold a "giveaway" again. Level all your chars and get ready.

    lol, I post a vent for my frustration, mostly to see what kind of responses people would give, and the attention has been amazingly funny. Thank you all for showing me what kinds of people are on these boards, especially the ones who have nothing better to do than belittle others. Oh, and the 'that's what she said' comment? Frickin amazing:)

    Why exactly are you hurt over not getting a ship for a faction you don't play? What would you do if you levelled up a character of another faction to get the ship? Would suddenly having that ship mean you stop playing a Romulan? If not, then why are you even concerned?
