Does anyone agree with me on saying that the older style ships need a upgrade? How should a Odyssey be able to have for hull then the Galaxy X? It's just stupid to me..Maybe a fleet vulcan science ship?.. or atleast a dreadnaught that has the hull of a dreadnaught The old style ships have been pushed around for way to long.. they need a upgrade.. . Please if u agree comment with your opinion and state more ships you would want upgraded.. See if we can get there attention

I agree, the power creep is really getting out of hand.
I am pretty sure this won't change as its a nice incentive to pay for the Odyssey.
id be willing to pay for a upgraded galaxy X Canon better then new...
But what I heard in a P1 interview last month is that all dreadnought class ships will be getting a hanger bay.
I haven't heard anything since that though.
So I dunno.
Why should a Galaxy X be on par or better then a state of the art Odyssey?
It is more "Up to date" yes.. but why should it be better. a Tac Cruiser should not have more base hull then a
dreadnought.
I'd like the Gal-X to gain similar stats to the Scimitar, that would likely make it my favorite ship ever, without really breaking the game. Since it wouldn't have a three-pack let it keep the lance as innate.
If a Gal-X had those stats it would be a real dreadnought
I might even start playing on my Eng again just to use it
Why should a one hundred year old ExCel be one tweak away from being on level terms with a shiny new Defiant class? I don't know, but that's Trek for you. The years gap between a Galaxy and an Odyssey are far smaller.
I am more surprised sometimes that they haven't tried adding some kind of UPGRADE feature.
Something that can be either like a Rep Grind or Dil/Z-Cost to upgrade an outdated ship to get closer to the newer ones.
Add Weapon slots, Consoles, upgraded BOff consoles... basically making the ship keep up with a little work to improve it.
Then you could fly what you want and it ends up being able to keep up with the fresh tier ships.
Because it's the Flagship, the GalX is just a Galaxy with some silly mods, no extra hull armour or anything.
Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though.
JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

Because a century old design like the Excelsior obviously can do this, too?
I mean be nearly as good as, as good as, or even better than much more modern designs.
Ah, I've always wanted to toss that ridiculous argument back at someone.
Apart from that the Galaxy X is a special case in that it originates from an alternate timeline and obviously is a highly upgraded Galaxy. Upgraded for war, that is. And there's a hell of a lot of room in a Galaxy hull.
Apart from that the game needs an overhaul regarding balance and variety. To make every, or at least most ships interesting in one way or the other. With some solid concept for ship stats. Without silly exceptions! (oh hello Elachi battleship with 10 turn rate..)
Right now I'm pretty annoyed that you actually have to fly a non Fed, non KDF ship if you want something good (oh hello Galor, hello Bug, hello Scimitar, hello Elachi BS..)
Luckily PvE is no challenge and you don't need to. Still it's annoying.
And no, it's not a matter of jealousy or bitterness, just in case someone is about to charge in and accuse me of that. I sit firmly on around 25k Zen. I could buy whatever I want. But I neither want to fly that abomination of a ship from Nemesis, nor those space dark elf emo vessels with all those spikes, nor an OP jem'hadar buggy, or anything else that's not painted in white or green('ish).
I like the classic designs. Don't try to shoe-horn me into that power creep. I'd rather play something else.
