Early Birthday Present?

My birthday is on August 18th, and Cryptic will be giving away free C-store items from the 12th to the 16th. Cryptic you shouldn't have! :D

In all seriousness though, what do you all think that they'll be giving away? They said that all the items will be account-wide unlock, so my guess is uniforms and maybe some tier 3 ships.

    I'd like to see them give away a Regent or better at the end of the week.

    I'd probably TRIBBLE myself if they gave away any or all of the Odysseys. lol

    i dont think they would give away anything they hold value to.

    probably low level ships and uniforms that nobody buys..

    honestly i would expect it to be items that have not sold well. that way they give away an item (even if its a very good item) they are not really hurting their sales.

    the good aspect of that is if they have not sold well, then most people will be eligible for them. if its done well this could really help promote klingons especially.

    I am guessing maybe swimsuits, sunglasses, and lockbox keys.

    I'm guessing it will be things like uniforms, maybe the tribbles, borg BOs, and hortas(these all used to be account wide unlocks). Somebody mentioned T3 ships, so maybe those and the bridge packs. I don't think it will be anything earth shatteringly awesome, just stuff that has worn outs it's welcome in the store.

    In the Official Post they (Bran) mentioned only two things; Costumes and Ships. Now I don't know about costumes (especially where the KDF is concerned; unless they're releasing a new one) but ships I expect to be Tiers #1 through #4; persuading people (later on) to spend more money on Fleet Modules to get a better version of an already acquired ship that they now have with a neat little console.

    That, and it wouldn't surprise me if they (again) opened up the ability to gain the Anniversary Ships again (Odyssey and Bortas).

    Also, seeing as it was desired by most, it wouldn't surprise me if one of these free items turned out to be a genuine swim suit (of sorts).

    Lol, we can only hope its swimsuits. Personally, I'm hoping for the mercenary outfit, and maybe the thunderchild.

    That would actually be a nice prize, the Ambassador Retrofit is a very solid ship indeed.

    Oddly enough, the Fleet Ambassador is superior to both the Fleet Excelsior and the Fleet Assault Cruiser (Fleet Sovereign).

    Boohoo! I'm probably missing out on the freebies, because I'm only missing 3 <T5 ships, though I'm happy for you guys. :)

    Still, fingers crossed one of them will be a Bellerophon or a Rhode Island. :D
    Or... even a D'kyr! :eek:

    Edit: changes are apparently being made on the D'kyr on Tribble? :eek:

    I don't own any of those three, but just looking at the stats on the wiki, I would say that the Fleet Assault Cruiser is the best of them, with the Fleet Ambassador coming in second.

    But back on topic, the 9 console Ambassador would be nice to have... if I didn't already still have it in the box.

    Well I'll be in luck because whatever the items will be I'll be home that week to get them :D

    My guess is that we might see the NX-01 and TOS Connie and the new lower level BOP that were added for the KDF.

    Maybe they'll give away a bunch of ships so that people have to buy ship slots to get them all.

    The Fleet Assault Cruiser has 1 more tac console and IMO a better Boff layout. That +550 hull won't even give you protection from another hit. The Fleet Excelsior also has +1 turn and +1 tac console, but (again IMO) has an inferior Boff layout than the other two. So IMO Fleet Assault Cruiser > Fleet Ambassador > Fleet Excelsior.

    Although I doubt they would give a bundle away...i would not mind at least one of the ships in a bundle like just one of the Bortas'Q.....or some low tier KDF ships, since I never actually brought any...i got all the FED, and Romulan ships.

    I suspect they'll give some keys (a few), and probably some DOFF pack.
    To push people to spend some on it, because they had a few goodies, some lobis, and they may think the next box is the one for the ship.

    Maybe some single ships from packages (but not the packages), or with consoles part of a set (romulan ship for example), so people may want to buy the others.


    Or maybe some stuff we already had through some events, gifts, offer... like the NX ship (I got it from free from alienware, 1 year ago or so).

    Just in case nobody else said it in this thread.

    #1 All items given away will be items that are unlocked for your whole account. This means uniforms, ships, costume slots, maybe bridge packs. Things like master keys, respecs, bonus pools, etc., will not be given away.

    #2 None of the romulan stuff in the c-store will be given away since it is too new.

    I will say in advance that there will not be any Romulan items given away (e.g. Romulan costumes or ships) as they are pretty brand-new.

    And on the days (yes, days plural!) that we're giving away a ship, there will be a KDF ship and Fed ship (you'll need to claim each on the appropriate, eligible character). So, there will actually be more than 5 ;)

    #3 The items they give away, as stated, are account unlocks. It will be just like buying the ship/costume/etc. yourself and you will have it available for all characters on the account, current and future.

    It works just like any other account unlock you buy, except you are "buying" the items we are giving away for "0 Zen" during the day they are free. You can claim it on future characters you make if they are of the appropriate level/ faction and meet eligibility (e.g. you have enough ship slots if it's a ship).



    No :) Just once -- it's an account-wide unlock.

    I was just thinking of getting a ship and a costume unlocked this weekend and now I need to wait to see if those items ends up being one of the free items. So glad i saw this offer, would hate to buy them and then they become free during the week lol.

    I am very BUT VERY UNHAPPY. I will be in the oountry side with no internet during the give away. I HAT PWE for that. The give away should stay at least 3 weeks so every one can participate. One week and some poeple can be unable to participate like me. This is unfair.
