You do know this is a COSMETIC and more importantly OPTIONAL project right?
-Not doing this project will not affect your gameplay at all
-Not doing this project will not handicap you vs. other players/fleets
    -These projects are relatively cheap.

Lots of players buy ship costumes and uniforms and never complain about them.

If you have the Dil to waste on cosmetics then do it, if you cant afford it, then DONT.
    It really is that simple.

Yes it is optional, thankfully lol. The main problem I personally have is that it costs dilithium and feel that these kind of projects should be made more useful towards the Fleet Holdings or be changed to cost something else.

I've always looked at dilithium as an end game currency and I still feel there is a shear lack of customization in this game, especially with the Fleet Holding areas. The other problem is that there seems to be a lot of focus on cosmetic stuff, ships and lockboxes when the core gameplay and customization features are lacking and could do with some attention.

I don't really care to much how our mine looks, but at least its easy 200k fleet credits without having to leave your fleet to donate to another to get fc.

We're on the fourth special project for the Dil Mine already?

    This.

Again a cosmetic item for an area my fleet is ages away from unlocking to access. Well, I guess we can look out the windows and see what happened to all the dil we spent on this before we get to go outside.

I never understand why people complain about these things. They are optional cosmetic upgrades. If you don't want to spend the resource to do it, you don't have to. Nobody is going to laugh you out of the game because you don't have dilithium sprouting out of your mine exterior the one time they actually stop long enough on that screen to notice. Just don't buy it.

My one consultation about this is I won't have to worry about this grind because I'm too busy grinding the five thousand other grinds we've been given.:P

I think the real complaint is that it requires dil. Having just started the game two months ago I already have my own projects and other more important fleet projects to do. If it required something else that would be great. (Colonists aka workers, supplies, anything else and it would be awesome) Anyway shouldn't a dil. Mine produce its own dil?

My complaint with these is that they are coming to fast. When it was just the starbase, we waited a month between them. Then it was the embassy and they alternated which one got the cosmetic project. Now we're getting the mine projects every two weeks and they seem to have abandoned the base and embassies.

2 weeks is not enough time for small fleets to get these finished. My fleet is so small we're not even able to get into the base yet, so these projects are all pointless for us any way. I refuse to join a mega-fleet or spam Earth Starbase and invite everyone and their uncle to join like so many people do these days.

For the love of god, not another one! We can't afford the dilithium cost... it's getting ridiculous...

Why you care if you can afford it? It's a decorative project. If you lack the dil, then don't slot it/work it... it's plain and simple. You don't need these to have a working mine.

"Yo dudes, I heard you like dilithium so I put dilithium in your dilithium mine so you can pay dilithium to see dilithium in the dilithium mine!"

...honestly..you can't make up half the crazy stuff they come up with...

Then...don't? It's a cosmetic project. They tend to get reruns, and you don't NEED them, they don't DO anything.
I think the real complaint is that it requires dil.
Of course it requires Dil. How do you think the stuff *GETS* there? You can't mine it, because YOU PUT IT THERE. That's your 200K, right there.

My fleet stopped progressing the fleetbase and the other stuff to show cryptic that we do not agree. ATM we will fill all remaining projects when we have the stuff that is needed, but no further. One can buy all stuff and ships from other fleets. Why this pain...

    Soooo......

They are selling Dilithium....for a Dilithium mine...

    riiiiight.....

By that logic I have a suggestion for the next fleet holding:

    Fleet Embassy - Nimbus Desert

Cosmetic project number 1 - for 200,000 Dilithium you can have extra sand piles around your embassy.....:P

Optional therefore not touching with a barge pole!......

I disagree with this stuff as much as anyone here, but I must correct something nonetheless. These projects have ALWAYS been introduced at two week intervals. There was a period when both the embassy and the starbase had projects, so each facility got one project per month, but there was still a new project every two weeks.

There is one exception. When the mine was first introduced, the project for the windows was up for three weeks before the next one was brought up. That's it, though. I imagine it was because even Cryptic thought it would be ridiculous to release multiple cosmetic projects that would be completed long before most fleets could even SEE them.

    All right, I'll say it:

When are we going to get a featured project that actually has tangible benefits (visual appearance doesn't count)?

When are we going to get something added to the game that isn't:
    1) a limited-time event (because some of us can't play regularly enough during the event to benefit from those. seriously, winter and summer are my busiest times at work, and I'm just drained when I get home.)
    2) a lockbox (my opinions on using the RNG as a loot distribution method have been stated numerous times)
    3) a starbase featured project (because dilithium has too many things that require it that provide actual tangible in-game benefits before I even consider using it for visuals).

And I'm still waiting on a project that lets me permanently remove those blasted tribbles from the Starbase.

One of the worst projects ever. You guys really need to stop these dilithium sinks and at least make these $18 projects (if you're buying dil from the exchange) functional in some way; like being able to mine said motherlode afterwards.

lol...cosmetic Dil projects are a joke, but as been mentioned a few times in this thread they are optional and do not hinder the progress of ur mine/embassy/starbase if u never slot any of em....so just dont

i personally never donate to any cosmetic projects, i have 13 toons in 4 fleets...2xFed fleets and 2xKDF fleets, iv never bought zen for Dil but have been very effective at grindin out my own Dil and always have between 500K-1Mil refined Dil,

dont get me wrong i throw my Dil in as much as the next person BUT never for cosmetic projects...if others in the fleet want to slot these and fill em....they can knock themselves out but my Dil goes on advancin the mine/embassy/starbase as well as gettin all my rep gear for my toons...

these kind of projects will not end but no need to get worked up bout it, just ignore em till someone else has ponyed up the Dil/Cash to fill em
