Some general comments about how they want to do something with the foundry for exploration.
Some other comments about PvP, nothing exciting to me.
And some comments about the next season, again all end game content, and a feature episode coming before that that will be a preview. New info here is that there will apparently be another free ship from this featured episode. Make of that what you will.
I never thought I would get to this point, but personally, I'm getting sick of starships, with nothing to use them on.
This isn't everything, just what I picked up listening while doffing.
Charles Gray did a very thorough job in this interview. Instead of giving quick bullet point answers, Charles revealed Cryptic's insights, successes, and difficulties with endgame content, missions on player ships, temporal progression across sector maps, etc... Charles gave a very insightful interview, which answered allot of players' questions. It was worth the listen. Thank you.

Well sounds like this season should help reinforce the end-game if they put in everything they say they want to for this season.
There was nothing new other than a few interesting tid bits.
The content designers got all of their goals for season 8 approved.
A new free ship will come with the preseason featured episode. I bet it will be the teased constellation class being a modified tier 2 cruiser.
A foundry or diplomacy reputation sector block might be the answer to the exploration issue.
Someone in here said they talked about pvp but it was just a quick mention after the interview.
And on a personal note I don't know why they do the predictive answers spiel. It makes cryptic look like a bunch of uptight and unoriginal devs. Jokes are fun but this is just pointing out how empty the majority of the broadcast is.
Comparing town criers to radio broadcasting is just amusing.
Word of mouth obviously came first but it was not and to some extent is still not an effective way of disseminating information.
Newspapers came next and was very effective for the time period, and are still in use today.
Radio broadcasts came after newspapers and was more effective because of the distances a single radio station could reach.
Now what you want to see information distributed through is merely a personal preference as both newspapers (in this metaphor it would be the equivalent to a transcript) or radio broadcast (podcast) are both still in use.. The fine people who have arranged and produced this interview chose to do it in an audio format. If you are unwilling or unable to use ~1 hour of your time that wouldn't be solely limited to listening to their broadcast, then just read the thread. I'm sure someone will post a decent summary of the content sooner or later.
And frankly I totally understand some people being unwilling to listen to the entire podcast just to get a handful of exclusive stuff. Personally I don't listen to Priority One because the episodes tend to be way too long and most of the segments I find uninteresting. I sometimes listen to their dev interviews for exclusive information, but even then I have to skip all the "trek news", non-trek news, patch notes "analysis", excessively long theme music and other small talk, just to get to the "meat". Also, I didn't even listen to their previous interview because the audio was terrible and I could barely understand a thing - transcripts in such cases would be really handy for people who just want to breeze through it or "ctrl+f" certain topics.
Not to defend the previous poster saying podcasts are archaic, because they're a very specific type of media, but keep in mind that people who don't find such format appealing would in fact prefer a transcript, summary or other type of information roundup. And yes, it's often faster and more convenient to read than to listen.

QFT. Cryptic's idea of "endgame" is sadly yet another reputation grind with a couple of ridiculously easy PvE queue missions to repeat for marks. This just struck me recently as well, with several new ships purchased, yet little to no reason or motivation to fly them. I'm honestly sick of all the STFs, while all other content aside from perhaps No Win Scenario is so easy you could basically do them in T3 ships with all Common Gear.
Exploration revamp is a way to go, in my opinion, especially if they'll manage to connect this with the Foundry in some way. I would gladly play and create some shorter episodes that appear randomly. Something more than "kill 5 waves of bad guys" or "scan 5 anomalies", yet not necessarily fully story driven episodes.
Sorry too lazy to listen to these podcasts and radio shows, its an archaic way of diseminating information, I just want to read it all.
Written language is much more archaic than audio transmissions are, though I suppose technically verbal language would be more archaic still, and you'd probably still have to be a tween or younger for Podcasts to feel archaic.

How so? Either one can be missed, and then you're screwed until they decide to speak it/broadcast it again.
Word of mouth
In other words, a town crier.
Podcasts, while able to be listened at your leisure, still must be listened to. Its not very easy to scan through to take in the bits you care about and skip the bits you don't.

You're too lazy to listen? An act that can be a passive and secondary activity while doing other things?
Podcasts are far from 'archaic' as you put it, they're very popular, and allow many people to consume more content/information than they normally could because of the fact they can be listened to while doing other things.
Thanks to podcasts, I can get caught up on; STO, Trek, technology, finance, business, news etc. while doing housework, exercising, commuting, any other activity you can think of where reading is difficult/dangerous.
That STO has so many great podcasts, by wonderful talented people, that they're able to get such access to Cryptic and its employees is brilliant! All of them devote their time for the love of the game, they're unpaid, and have to juggle podcasting with their other commitments including regular paid work.
Producing quality transcripts for podcasts takes a long time, there's no easy/automated way to do it that delivers consistently accurate results, just look at how badly Google Voice transcribes, and good audio typists are expensive.
I listen during my commute... sometimes they stray off topic and it takes them forever to get back to STO news.
Anyways, the couple I listen to produce show notes... its not a "transcription" but should give you the general gist... keep in mind that the podcasters are not paid (please correct me if I am wrong), they are doing this pretty much on their own dime, or for whatever donations they get.
For everyone who has listened... Muchisimas Gracias!!
For those of you waiting on a transcript... I regret to inform you that we have no plans of generating one at this time -- or possibly ever.
Please, remember -- Many podcasters do not get paid to sit down every week and spend hours prepping for a show, or event, or an interview.
Priority One Podcast, specifically, is built by the generous talents of volunteers dedicated to producing the quality content you hear (or don't hear) and see every week.
If you would like to volunteer your time to transcribe these interviews, please feel free to reach out to us!
