I'm not at all qualified to say how long it would take, but I'm pretty sure it would be a significant amount of time. Particularly when they're paying staff to create something that they will see no direct profit from.

I want to see cryptics quarterly earnings report for each and every game they have out right now. I know Star Trek online has got to be one of their top priorities.
Things like Gal X, dual beams on Gal and Excelsior, no dual beams for Enterprise 1701, sector space being kinda lame, and yet all the time to make sure the forums are nice and spiffy. Just points to overall lack of effective upper management.
Question is: if STO's bringing the money, why not hire more guys on to rake in even more money??? I know the talents out there, hell several of them comment on the forums volunteering their time... for free!
Lyndon Brewer: 20% chance to capture enemy ship for 60 seconds on successful use of boarding party.
Because it would take them forever and a day to make it, for very little reward.
This.
Bridges/Interiors take far longer to make than ships. As such, if there is sufficient reason to make a full ship interior (such as the newish Romulan Ship interior, being used all over LoR) we'll make one. If there isn't, we won't. Making a custom bridge, let alone a full interior for the Corvette (while cool) would be a significant investment of time/resources. So, we could have skimped on Risa more, and built an interior, or done what was done, and skipped the interior which would have served little purpose anyway, and went with beefing up Risa.
Honestly, i can tell you from experience that it would only take a day or two
Building custom bridges takes longer than a couple of days. Something like the Suliban/Andorian/Tholian Bridges, were each 5 days of Environment work from me. Then it needs design time to hook up any interactables, doors, etc.
Doing a full interior is significantly longer (i.e. 3 weeks to a month)
Does any C-store ship even have its own interior? lol I think maybeeee 1-2
While not a full on custom interior, all the 3 pack ships come with a custom bridge. Except for the Vesta for some reason. Which still ticks me off to this day. Everyone else gets a cool custom bridge but not us science guys, nope.

The only full, custom interiors in the C-Store are the TOS interior, available in the TOS bundle, and the Defiant interior, from the Deep Space Nine bundle.
They are both wonderful and gorgeous, and more people should buy them. People need to convince Cryptic that we want these things badly enough that we'll pay for them - I want to see TNG and Voyager bundles in the future!

Apparently people don't agree which is why they don't buy them, and Cryptic rarly makes them. Pretty sure more players would buy them if the bridge served as something other than eye candy.
...skipped the interior which would have served little purpose anyway...
This is the other big thing. Even with the doff hookups that have been added to interiors, they're still not terribly useful in-game, and I would assume that most players don't visit their ship interiors very often (why would you)?
If the dev team were to ever write an episode or featured series which required a certain interior, they would have more incentive to build one that could be used as a player interior.
I would also think there must be Foundry authors who would be ecstatic to have canon-based interiors to work with when writing their missions.

I bought the Vesta 3-pack and was very disappointed that it was the only 3-pack that didn't get a custom bridge. Would have been cool to see what the artist would have come up with but I guess we'll never know.

I never expected a custom bridge with the Vesta, as it's a standard Starfleet ship designed and built by Starfleet (at least in game, I haven't read the books, so don't know about that).
The Andorian escorts were designed by Andorians, and we know what their bridge looks like from the shows, so it got a custom one. The Odyssey is the new flagship of the Federation, so it gets a unique bridge.
You can also look at it this way - by not tying the Vesta down to one specific bridge, you actually have a lot more choice over what your bridge looks like on one than either the Odyssey or Kumari ships.

Why not just create a modified version of the Foundry system to create personal Bridges and Interiors. Players could add their designs to some database and less gifted players could download designs that they like from more talented players. Only thing necessary from the devs would be to update art assets and add new features to the system.
I wish the ship had an interior, too. Maybe if it returns next year?
hmm, expand the rewards each year? Next year, keep the Corvette as a reward, but for those that already have it, you can unlock an interior, or other customization options? Year after that, Mirror version? another console, maybe even a 3 piece set over multiple years?

I don't think there's any way the word "just" could be applied to that sentence. The Foundry allows authors to combine assets made by the devs - wall and floor pieces, various objects, and their associated textures - to be arranged in new ways.
That's a huge difference from being able to create a new environment from scratch, in most cases designing custom models for each feature on the map, creating all the textures required from scratch, and then setting up the necessary hookups for bridge functionality.
A pretty tall order...I don't think any one Cryptic dev does all of that on his/her own, it's not realistic to expect a Foundry author to do it.

You're correct it would be a lot of work. I built a bridge in the Foundry for one of my missions. It served it's story purpose, which was to be an auxiliary bridge so I could get around setting a scene on the player's bridge. However it is a bit clunky because I had limited assets to use (there's no Federation captain's chair in the Foundry) and the Foundry as it is set up currently isn't equipped to make a real bridge with all the functionality of one of the in-game bridges.
Also I think they've said in the past while discussing using the Foundry as a way to create player ship interiors that having Foundry maps outside of Foundry missions as they work now would be extremely complicated.
While it certainly would be cool to make custom bridges ourselves, it would take a lot of work on Cryptic's part to make something like this. And I think all things considered there are other features where I'd rather they spend their time and effort.
Doing a full interior is significantly longer (i.e. 3 weeks to a month)
What I don't understand is, if it really takes so much effort, why are the ships with a custom interior not valued a little more? I am tired of telling "no" to everyone that asks me if the Odyssey or Bortasqu' are worth buying. Such beautiful and detailed models, with such awesome custom interiors and such lousy stats. They were made at a different time, when having a LTC universal bridge slot in a cruiser was considered the pinnacle of power. Considering the cost is the same as the Scimitar pack and considering that they are used as poster ships every time the game is featured in the ST magazine it is time to update them to bring their power in line with their value.
I think, in the time available, the choice would have been to either have the default Fleet interiors, or have something thrown together with very low resolution and/or poorly fit prims. We got the former, and had we gotten the later, I think we'd have a lot of people complaining that the interior looked bad and why did they waste time on it?
On the other hand, I think ship interiors are an important part of this game that both help immersion and set this game apart from any other MMO out currently. That the devs think players don't care about them/spend time on them is a direct result of both a predisposition in MMO mentality that anything that gets in the way of the grind is unneeded, and that they themselves have done more to drive people away from using their interiors by introducing graphics that encourage people to avoid wanting to see them (the utterly out-of-place and visually painful interact 'flames' that they still will not make optional and which can make seeing anything impossible from certain camera angles). That the Federation interiors are ridiculously huge and the KDF bridges are all almost identical doesn't help things, especially compared with the Romulan interiors (which show that the Devs could fix all of this if they wanted to).
For a ship not intended to be available again after the brief window of accessibility, I can see why a custom interior would seem a very low priority. Why the baseline interiors (especially the KDF, which do not fit at all with the Risan ship) cannot be brought up to standards that would encourage players to use them is another matter.
It would be nice, but to be fair, it's a free ship and it's hella good.
This is my take on it. Due to the ridiculous impulse modifier, the ship meets my definition of 'OP'. It goes ridiculously fast, and doesn't exactly sacrifice anything for it other than a few hullpoints. It hits hard and is nearly impossible to catch if it's running a build designed to utilize that speed (EPtE, 2 copies of APO, maybe an Impulse Capacitance Cell, and then that Wake console that is utterly superflous given its already ridiculously high speed). This speed provides advantages in both PvE and PvP. . .if the enemy can't keep up with you, it can't kill you. The thing darts across the screen so fast even a BoP can't turn well enough to train its guns on it and hope to do any damage.
