Ok so this month I created a Romulan character for the first time and Im now a Centurion. One thing that ive been trying to figure out how to do is system patrols. Playing as either fed or Klingons I could just go up to a system and click begin system patrol and it would take me right into the mission. But ive tried doing that as a Romulan and nothing pops up.Ive went to all the sector blocks in Romulan Space as well as trying it in Federation and Klingon space and nothing will pop up for me.Ive also tried both type of systems the ones that are a hollow circle with a dot inside and the ones that marked by a shaded grey circle. Is there something im missing that I need to do before patrolling systems as a Romulan?Or are Romulans just not allowed to do those missions? If so that would suck because they are what allowed me to get to admiral much faster with my Federation character.

you have to be allied with a faction to be able to do system patrols i.e feds to do any of there patrols thru out fed space and vise versa on the KDF.
NOTE: some patrols will not progress I have found several in Alpha Centauri that do this, so for an example if you have to kill 5 groups of romulans and it does not show you killing the 1st 2 groups BINGO that's a clue.
Edit: kdf do not have system patrols like the feds do, so if your romulan is in the kdf faction that might be why.
Yep im allied with the Klingons. So the Klingon faction doesnt get patrol missions? I could of sworn they did. I havnt played as a klingon in over a year so mabey I just forgot.

Sadly no they do not, instead they get the missions that are similar to the exploration missions. you scan an anomaly in a nebula and have a chance to go into a area with either romulan, federation, or Trueway forces depending on the mission. you have to kill 6 groups in each anomaly. do this 3 times for each. not only are they easy and give the patrol mission exp, but also give dilithium and are repeatable every day
How do I get these missions? For the feds you get contacts like Lt.Grall.I dont see any contacts on the available mission list except the contact for the next story mission.

They are called something like "Hunt down Gorn-dogs in the Khaless expanse"'ish
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
The Khaless Expanse isn't a colonial zone. That zone is used by the 'Empire Defense' missions, where rather than exploring systems, you're locating and killing Federation patrols.
The closest KDF gets is their weird version of Star Cluster missions. KDF were originally locked into the one sector block, so until recently the only mission content they had outside that area was the Featured Episodes and the "Path of the Warrior" grind missions in the sector just north of their home sector. (You do reach those from sector space though. Perhaps those are the missions you were thinking of?)
With Legacy of Romulus, they did convert some of the Starfleet missions to allow KDF characters access, but you usually need to have the specific mission to enter the system map.
There is the mission where you work on the arrays near K7? And save the Feregni from attack before they blow up the fuel tanks. That is about it, other than their few clusters near home.
