Temporal backstep bug?

So Ive tested this just to make sure it wasn't me just misreading things, and I noticed that when i activate my temporal back step right when I would die as its showing my ship explode then its showing my hull healing etc, that in pvp and pvp fleet games it still counting it as I died when I actually didnt since I did activate the ability in time and was about to heal myself. So im left thinking this is a bug of some kind since that would obviously be very unbalanced towards the enemy players against a wells class. Seeing how they could potentially get 2 kill counts for only one actual kill. The back step would be the same as activating miracle worker in time to save your ship etc. Note I normally activate it when my hull is at 10% or less, and use the time from my boff abilities to completely heal my shields and hull when otherwise I would have died.

Its not a bug. U actually died. You just reverted time prior to your death. Bad luck if u get killed again. Happens all the time. Time your backstep carefully.

Devs have also stated that this is working as intended.

but it dont make any sense why it would work that way since if "time" was rewound the history would show you never actually died. And that would also very much defete the whole point of the back step ability.

It makes sense. The history as u called is revolving around borders of your ship only. You are not rewinding the whole time itself.

And this folks is yet another reason why it is a bad idea to have timeships ...

not the whole of time is rewound though.

    just yours.

and the backstep has more use then just a heal.

The scoreboard is universal and omnipotent (except when it's not).

The backstep is a localized temporal effect. So scoreboardcat still sees what you did there.

see i rather enjoy temporal mechanics , and even if its "localized around my ship" if my ship was exploding the that explosion would stop and never have happened since it is around my ship. ergo my ship was never actually destroyed which is why in game my ship isnt destroyed. Either way you look at it its still very unbalanced since its like any other ship ability, if i activate eng team right when my hull would hit 0 it heals me and dont give a point to the other players. Esp since the game itself sees it in time that the ship would not be destroyed, therefore how could a kill that didnt happen take place? the abillity as described says "Untargettable and held for 7 seconds while time rewinds " I activate it when my hull hits 10% to ensure time the ability goes off before i die. so if its sapose to freeze time around me making me untargettable how does the rest of the attacks still hit in the first place, and second since it does " After 2 seconds, +1380 Hit Points per sec for 5 seconds
After 2 seconds, 450 Shield Regeneration to each facing per sec for 5 seconds "

just like other hull heals why doesn't the score counter see it as the ship being healed before it was destroyed. As far as I see it, and the game, the ship was never actually destroyed, so it makes it unbalanced that the score counter sees it as a kill when the ship was never actually destroyed.

    1. It has an activation time.
    2. If u dont like it dont use it.
