So here's my beef (probably said many many times but didn't see it and I just came back). I was looking through my Fed aligned Romulan's choices and noticed something that made me double and triple take. I can get a Cstore Enterprise and all the variants BUT the one ship I already have purchased the Odyssey isn't available?! Somehow that makes very little sense if we're going to allow Romulan's to have access to the 'Enterprise' then where's the Odyssey problem?
Well it's not ALL of the ships but there does seem to be some odd one's available and yet other's not. /sigh
its because the devs (and i think player outcry) decided before LoR even began closed beta to not allow access to t5 (rear admiral/brigaider general) to Vice admiral ships for romulans....which makes total sense...if you want to fly the higher end ships then you roll a toon for that faction....the t1-t4 access for romulans actually makes some sense due to the fact that there is such a dirt tiny selection romulan ship wise.
I find this line of replies sadly hilarious. We put a lot of work into the massive list of fixes/changes above, and ya'll are hung up on the ability to skip our content. =p

SMH I get it but yet still don't. Sorry you can't sell me the idea of TNG being available and then non featured one's not available but guess it's just me and what I get for leaving and then deciding to come back and give it a try again. Thanks for the reply.
It's this way because otherwise the situation would be pretty unfair:
Romulans can fly every ship in the game while Feds and Klingons are stuck with their own ships without access to Romulan ones.
At that point rolling anything other than a Romulan becomes pointless.
On a positive note, at least all of those people complaining about the level 30 D'deridex can instead use a Defiant or Raptor/BoP. YOU HEAR THAT ALL YOU COMPLAINERS??? YOU CAN USE A DHC TOTING TACTICAL MACHINE! -.-
It is said the best weapon is one that is never fired. I disagree. The best weapon is one you only have to fire... once.
Never understood that, I play a Romulan toon to play Romulan ships...
....
I don't play a KDF to fly Fed ship.
and with this Scimitar (poss) 3 pack coming and some science vessel also on the brew its clear Cryptic has a lot more content for the faction coming. Just a question of holding on and being patient.
Monkey see, Monkey do. Monkey flings Feathered Monkey poo...

As far as I know, the Enterprise is an Odyssey class starship.
You want to use Romulan Ships, roll a Romulan toon.

I know right? It's not rocket science, but those who want their way will still argue the point, because they can't get what they want. I see no point in letting Roms us ANY FED or KDF ship to be honest. They shouldn't have let roms fly ANY ships that were non Rom if you asked me.

Personally i was gratefull, because a.)
Got consoles (Praise the lord for antimatter spread!)
Free Phasers (Tos Enterprise)
And i was able to use my thunderchild class for t3, instead of the mogai. I Liked it as a ship, but i just couldn't cope with it's obscene hitbox :<
I do agree we shouldn't get access to the endgame ships though.
WOW I didn't expect this to turn into a hot topic. Like I said I get the reasons. I'd have just done it where NONE of the allied ships were available if they were going to limit the high end one's too.

But that then begs the question, what's the point of picking an alliance if you don't have access to their technology?

I think he means the Enterprise-C (Charlie for you military phonetic types). I do agree with most of the other posters. You create a Romulan or Reman to play a Romulan faction character and use Romulan/Reman ships. If you want to create a Klingon and fly a federation ship, create a Federation Klingon. If you want a Federation species character to fly Klingon ships, the only option is to create a joined Trill. I just wish that the Jem'Hadar, Hirogen, and Remans were also C-store species for the KDF. With these compelling examples, there really is no good reason to create cross-faction characters save through the Alien character generator.
Or stick to the free Mogai. As long as you update the gear/weapons at lvl 30 the ship can be used until the free T5 romulan ships become available at lvl 40.

I was more like joking because the OP specificaly mentioned the Romulan access to the 'Enterprise', when, if you take into consideration the period in which STO is settled - the Enterprise-F is an Odyssey class starship, so his initial statement is contradictory. (If the Romulans have access to the "Enterprise", why not the Odyssey)
I do understand what he ment and it's not only the Enterprise-C, the Romulans have access to any Enterprise from A to E, with the exception of the Odyssey class F. However, one can say that those ships are not the "Enterprise", but a class of ships that a former "Enterprise" used to be, so Romulans don't have access to the actual class of ships that carries the name "Enterprise" now.
Other than my joking, I completely agree that no allied ships should have been made availible to Romulans. I'm very strict in my play about that. I only use Starfleet ships on Federation chars., only Klingon ships on Klingons, Only Flight-Deck cruisers on my Orion and I certainly have no intention of using any other ships than warbirds for my Romulan. Heck, even the weapon layout on my ship is canon, I like it that way.
But that then begs the question, what's the point of picking an alliance if you don't have access to their technology?
You do just not the top of the line ships and anything that goes with it. If you had top of the line ships of your ally what would be the point to play a Klingon or Federation character when the Romulan side would have more end game stuff?
In the real word the United States does not give its best military technology to its allies and in Star Trek the Federation did not give its best technology to the Klingons who had been their allies.
It makes no sense in the real world and no sense for game play. I am surprised by people who are surprised Romulans only have Romulan end game ships.
WOW I didn't expect this to turn into a hot topic. Like I said I get the reasons. I'd have just done it where NONE of the allied ships were available if they were going to limit the high end one's too.
Letting players have access to Tier 1-4 ships allows existing players who had purchased lower tiered ships to claim them to gain access to those consoles to use in their new romulan ships, to make the change feel less punitive for players who invested some money into their original faction. If you don't already own a ship, it really isn't that helpful as you can't use you rank up tokens to buy an allied ship, and they are pretty pricey to buy with dilithium.

I know. It was just the way the guy worded his post I decided to throw that question out there. And believe me, I wasn't surprised in the least when I found out that my Reman couldn't use my Odyssey/Regent/Defiant-R/Anything but Romulan/Reman Tier V ships. Made sense then, makes sense now.
It is said the best weapon is one that is never fired. I disagree. The best weapon is one you only have to fire... once.
No, they dont have access to the B or the E either since the B is a Excelsior Refit that is T5 as fat the model goes, the Soverign is a T5.
We seen plenty of Constitutions back in TOS days, we also seen several Galaxies that leaves just the A as the only Constitution refit we only one we only seen under the name "Enterprise", everything else was re-used at some point or it is at T5.
Let me explain: the Advanced Heavy Cruiser only has the Excelsior NCC-2000 model.
The T5 retrofit comes with the Enterprise-B model (which has some serious differences from the basic Excelsior) as alternate option.
So they don't have access to the -B since they can't use the T5 option with the T5 skin.
It's not so much the C-store variety that I question, but why I can't get a Tier 2 Fed(not sure if Klink) ship when I'm qualified for a Tier 2 Rom ship. I want the Cruiser/Escort/Science Vessel that my Fed Toons get at rank 10 for use on my rank 10 Romulan, is that to much to ask?
*Edit*
And through the miracle of reading back in the thread he learned that Rom ship tokens don't equal Fed/Klink ship tokens, and the entire world went "Duhurrr".
Heavy Weapons, knocking down walls and horribly maiming people since man first asked "What if I made this really big?".[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

No way! Its way easier just to use my lvl 20 ship till level 40, and then ***** like hell that Cryptic is stupid because I can't do one (admittedly difficult) mission in my massively under powered ship.
Also, I just wanted to write a thank you letter to Starfleet high command for not handing over our state of the art flagship tech to the insurgents that we are supporting. Let them get the museum pieces all they want. While I agree with all they stand for, they are shifty as hell and half of them are accepting weapons from the bad guys.

And for those players who actually know how to use their freebie D'deridex, enjoy using that ship and laugh at everyone else who stays in their Mogai because they are too incompetent to learn to use the ship you're flying.

I have flown multiple cruisers when I first started playing last year and when I started using escorts and science ships I had a lot more fun compared to those slower turning cruisers.
Not liking a ship with crappy turn rate compared to most other ships and would rather fly a lower tier ship because it has more turn rate does not make someone incompetent. It just means a D'Deridex and other similar ships are not their cup of tea as the saying goes.
So much superiority complex comes from people who like flying crappy turning ships with things like you said or learn to play and so on people say to people who just don't like cruisers.

I have no problem with the decision to lock allies T5 vessels out from Romulans.
If Romulans could use every ship at every level that their allies owned then no one would have a reason to run a KDF or Federation Character because just rolling a Romulan will give you the best of both worlds and that would greatly hurt the KDF IMO.
The way that its setup is quite fair Romies get access to their allies T1-T4 vessels has well has their own T1-T5 vessels.
it was CBS that said no to rom been able to use lvl 50 ships nothing to do with devs there was a post about it by the dev + it was in a interveiw CBS has finnal say on everything in this game

There's a T3 Excel: http://sto.gamepedia.com/Advanced_Heavy_Cruiser . Roms have access to NX-01 to D of ship classes that have been Enterprise.
