So what the debate still rages. Just wanted to clear the air on that and hope that douchey Eve Online players take it somewhere else

Well for one thing you are not meant to post in threads more than 30 days old. if you want to debate the pros and cons of the two games then start a new thread.

second you responded by saying a players should learn to play the game because he did not consider the duty officer system, despite the fact the duty officer system will not be here for nearly 2 years when he posted it.

and you cant generalise players as douchy because of the game they like. plenty of annoying players everywhere for every game.

APB: Reloaded. It's the internet short bus.

The STO community is really, really bad, but they all seem like perfect angels next to the APB crowd. Just about anyone does though.

To generalize against them like that makes your self look as bad.... if not worse than they are.

STO is just a baby version of Eve. It's OK for burnouts like me, but to even compare them is just silly. If all the OP did was mine in high-sec, then yes he may be happier in STO, but that's his own fault.

I love both games. They're hardly the same though, so comparing them isn't right.

I'm not playing EVE atm, for a couple of months already now due to time constraints. STO is great for short term quick fun, eve takes a bit more preparation time for anything.

I've played eve for a few years now, on and off. Most fun I've had was with a O.O corporation in a massive alliance up north dualboxing carriers (thanies!). Most fun until we got into a fight with 300 super caps. A while after that I retired to market games. I'm a multi billionaire now, can afford almost anything the game has to offer (short of ultra rare 100bil ships). Game did get a bit boring after being a wealthy kingpin, buy I'll definitely return at some point.

Those that played may or may not have heard of me, I also ran a BPO shop under the name of Riley Moore with my marking character as AEGLAIA Thaleia. Store was "sentinum research"

So...your response is to tell them to learn to play using a system that didn't exist when they posted in this thread three years ago?

    Eve does many things right.

    1) CCP listens to its customers, even more now since the Burn Jita incident.

    2) PvP is the best you will find in any mmo other than **** when it was first released.

    3) The fact you can be a casual gamer and still keep up with friends with your passive skill training in real time.

    4) You can play the stock market and make a fortune.

    5) Exploration.

    6) The only mmo to have emergent game play due to its very nature of being the true sandbox it is.

Eve only lacks when a player doesn't have a focus or a goal in mind. And that player is limited by their own imagination.
