OK I'm sure this has been discussed before but I'm not gonna read thru a ton of pages trying to find it. so I am posting one of my own. I think that the selection for your ships while playing as a romulan should be based on which side you go on either fed or kilng. I am a tac and with and prob most fed tacs at least the escorts are the best their power and mobility even though they have a low Base hull they make up for it with power. seems how I am now a LVL 31 (rom commander similar to the Captain rank of Starfleet) I would have like to requisition (correct spelling btw unlike in the game it is spelled requision) a tactical escort with a base turn of 17 not some bulky D'Deridex Warbird Battle Cruiser with a BASE TURN RATE OF 5 YES 5 that's even worse then the Exploration cruiser which has a base turn rate of 6. Ya I know there are consoles out there that will increase turn rates but they usually go for ridiculous amounts of Energy Credits which is the most common monetary use in the game but a pain to get cause u have to know who to sell to and then go to that person either at esd ds9 ect... but they are way over priced on the Exchange. I think that there should also be a cap on the exchange to where could only sell items that are at least 1 credit higher then that of one of the people you have to go to for mentioned. Come on Cryptic what is the point of going federation or Klingon if you have to save up about 80k if dilithium ore BUT CAN ONLY REFINE 8k of that a day (which BTW again 80K is what the tactical escort costs BUT THAT IS REFINED NOT ORE!!!!!. cryptic you may have just as well left the romulans to their own side not fed or Klingon just plain rom cause what is the point if you cant use the allies ships (oh and the only actual fed ship u get to use with out all the hassle of the dilithium is the Support cruiser you know the one you get for helping the Enterprise C.) or purchasing one with Zen of which I have the multi-vector which I will be able to use at lvl 50 THIS NEEDS TO CHANGE AND SOON :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad:

Besides, at level 40 you can get the Ha'feh assault warbird. You're only a few hours of play time away from that.
Get an RCS console or keep the Mogai. Its more than powerful enough until you get the Ha'feh escort.
Edit; nevermind, just found your big complaint is that you don't want to/can't afford the dilithium grind necessary to obtain the Tactical Escort.
5 bucks gets you 500 Zen, current exchange rate turns 500 zen into around 65000 dilithium. There, now you only need to grind 15000 dilithium to save yourself the trouble of flying a D'Deridex.
Or, bite the bullet, fly a D'Deridex and use your battle cloak every time you want to turn. Or fly a Mogai for 10 more levels. It's only for 10 levels.
You can choose an allied ship, but it's not free. You have to pay dilithium for it; the ship token won't work.
It's still really a non-issue considering that the Mogai is actually a pretty decent ship and still performs well after level 30.
Personally, I don't mind getting the D'deridex, since it's such an iconic ship. I think it's good training in ship variety. Once you hit level 40, you can trash it and never fly one again. My Romulan engineer will be picking up the retrofit version at 50, though.

Easy. You pay because you are not, in fact, a member of that faction. Screaming at us isn't going to change that.
Use the D'deridex for a few levels or stick with the Mogai. It's really not as big of a deal as you're making it.
If not, maybe this game is not the right fit for you. I see a lot of F2P players here who yell and scream, expecting / demanding they get everything for free. If the company did that, we would not have this game to play now would we?
Take a time out, go watch a movie, get outdoors, do something to let yourself "calm down" and realize this is just a video game. Getting bent out of shape over something so trivial really isn't good for your mental health.
To me, any ship is a reflection of its Captain. If he/she isn't very good at the game all the hardware and Zen in the world will not be able to compensate for this.
the D'deridex isn't a bad ship if you know how to use it yes it has a slow turn rate but it's not ment to be a cannon torp ship fit it with beam weapons and use broadsides for max effectivnes works realy well in fact i use the same tactic on all crusers
Traits in lock boxes that is all the proof you need they are getting more greedy. Traits should not be in lock boxes.
I understand wanting to make money but they crossed the line for being reasonable thanks to adding traits to lock boxes. What other unreasonable things will be added to lock boxes in the future?
It's a fantastic ship if you like cruisers. I don't like them though, so I choose not to fly them. If I had the dilithium, I might have bought a Federation escort just for the levels between 30 and 40. :cool:

The RCS was pretty much mandatory as was using Battle Cloak to maneuver. The damage on the Valdore / Mogai is a major improvement over the DD but in terms of sheer staying power, the DD wins.
Personally, I like flying the big D because it is so iconic ... especially for a TNG / DS9 fan. I liked flying the Galaxy also even though it sucked even more. It is also only 10 levels. Hang in there, the level 40 ships are awesome ... at least on paper.

I took my Commander level D'Deridex all the way to Lv 50 :cool:
Or as many are saying, continuing using your Mogai. It's a solid ship.

Then I loaded it with beam arrays and made sure Veril had Vent Warp Plasma and it was on, Jack!
I think it's a great ship, but I will MOST ASSUREDLY be switching to a more escort-like warbird at 40 on my Tactical Captain.
Seriously, all it takes is a little adjustment to your play style. Screaming and ranting in ALL CAPS with huge run-on sentences and no punctuation isn't going to help.

I have upgraded its weapons to Antiproton Beam arrays, Cannons Heavy and light, Quantum Torpedoes and a Tri-cobalt Torpedo with a Quantum Torpedo and a Beam Array on the rear.
If you cannot do damage in the Ha'feh with this mix then it is your piloting skills that lack. I will further upgrade to fleet engines and weapons when I have enough points on this Rommie toon and Dilithium to purchase them.
