Not sure what the deal is with the new Mission Menu, but here is my problem, note I am a VA.
On the main "Hail Starfleet" window, the first episode I am prompted for is 'Welcome to Earth Spacedock.' The hail option is greyed out, and when I click more it takes me to the Klingon War thread, where 'Welcome to Earth Spacedock' has the Skip, Transwarp, and Hail buttons greyed out.
Every other episode in that thread has the Replay button lit.
On the left side of the window, all the other threads 'The Romulan Mystery', etc...are greyed out.
I click on 'The Romulan Mystery', and it immediately takes me to the last mission, 'Darkness Before the Dawn', where all three buttons, Skip, Transwarp and Hail, are again greyed out. All other missions show the correct 'Replay" button lit.
I click on "The Cardassian Struggle', and it shows the first mission, 'Venture into Deep Space' with all three buttons, Skip, Tranwarp, and Hail, greyed out again. Here all missions show 'Replay' until 'Shutdown', which is the next mission I was on which correctly shows the Skip and Hail buttons lit. However, here the Transwarp button is greyed out.
My assumption is there is a mission bug going on.
My Captains log shows I completed 'Welcome to Earth Spacedock", 'Darkness Before the Dawn', and 'Venture into Deep Space'.
I assume the bug is since the new menu does not register completing the 'Welcome ot Earth Spacedock', it assumes 'The Klingon War' is not complete, and has not lit up 'The Romulan Mystery'.
Now that I cannot use the Captain's Log to replay missions, I have no way to replay these three missions to clear the problem.
Anyone else have any similar issues? Am I just special?
I am rather upset about this. This issue has been a problem for months and nobody is fixing it.
I've spent $260 in the cstore in the last month, I've spent $900 in the last two years, if you guys want me to spend another penny, you'll make it so I can play missions. As soon as humanly possible.
I'm guessing there is something wrong with the replay option (filed a ticket and have seen a couple of other threads reporting similar problems).
Here's what I've found: Whenever there's a gap in the missions a character's completed, the first previously played mission after the gap can't be replayed for some reason. There's only a "Hail" button, not a "Replay" button.
So, for instance, my VA never played a couple of the Klingon missions, from War is Good for Business to Task Force Hippocrates. I did run him through Skirmish and the rest of the Devidian FE. What I under the Klingon Front missions is "Replay" up through the Kuvah'Magh, "Hail" for War Is Good, and greyed out boxes from Treasure Trading Station to TFH.
I should see "Replay" again at Skirmish, but instead there's a "Hail" button. When I press it, I get a dialogue box that says "Please input request." The only option is "Exit." So no replay is possible. I can replay all the other Devidian missions and subsequent Klingon missions just fine.
I've seen a couple of threads focused particularly on the same thing happening with Cold Call (probably because lower level characters won't have done the Borg missions) and that's true for my lower rank characters too--they can "Hail" for Cold Call and get a dialogue box that says "Please input request" but can hit "Replay" for all of the other Breen missions.
I also think there's something weird with all the initial missions on each front. They buttons for them are always greyed out, no matter what.
I'm guessing that when there's a gap (either of unplayed missions or a change in front) things get broken somehow.
Aside from this thread, these are the ones I've seen (and in two cases, posted in) so far. The last one isn't explicitly about this issue, but it does get mentioned.
I just double checked "Cold Call" and I too cannot replay that. I'm pretty ****ed that the mission story funciton sucks so bad on this update. DEV COMMENT PLEASE.
My Mission progression suddenly started working, and now all previously greyed-out missions now are shown as they are supposed to be.
If this was intentional, thanks for the fix. I appreciate the relatively short timeframe to fix it. I assume it had something to do with my character and not the game engine.
i too have some weirdness with the mission screen, but, i have finished every mission-except terradome, so its not a big deal. but, when it shows the next mission in line, it seems to be a random mission from the klingon war...and it changes, so yeah, its kinda messed up
The problems with replaying Cold Call (as well as the first missions in each of the FE series for lower level characters) is still around. Just curious if anyone else is still experiencing it.
As I've noted in other posts and bug reports in game, similar things happen with normal missions if there's a gap of unplayed missions in the sequence.
Perfect World/Cryptic; As with Many many other subscribers have spent hundreds of dollars playing this game. We continued to buy things from you, until now. . . If you expect us to continue to purchase anything while you IGNORE YOUR BROKEN MISSION DIALOGUE, then you are sadly mistaken. . . We HAVE been patient. We HAVE put in tickets that have gone ignored and unanswered. . . YOU have NO ONE answering these GAME BREAKING problems let alone having the courtesy of answering us on this thread.
I along with others will not continue to purchase anything from you; if you do not fix your NEW MISSION DIALOGUE box. It tracks missions incorrectly, it does not recognize the fact that we have already done ALL the Episode missions over and over. And it seems to randomly ghost mission buttons out so that they can't be played at all. . .
I was playing my Rear Admiral Lower Half char, (I have 3 VA level chars) and I wanted to get the Breen Engine, Shield and Deflector set at Level X, and since I was able to play all the missions except for the beginning mission "Cold Call" now I can NOT get the complete set, as my doff missions have pushed me up to Rear Admiral Upper Half, so I have a Partial Breen Set all because of your unwillingness to fix this problem!!! That makes me mad. . . Here you think we will keep on playing a broken game just because you add new ships? Or items? How CAN we? IT"S BROKEN!!!!
Fix or DON"T get Paid, Your Choice. . . We as customers can ALSO have FREE CHOICE not to buy anything until you do fix it. . . Sorry it has come to this. I love STO and I respect Cryptic and their ability to create the Start Trek Universe. . . But I didn't break this game. . . Your updates DID. . . so I can't fix it for you.
I hope this finds you all Well and happy. . .
Sincerely Tiger.

This is the worst part... no answer from you assumes that you aren't even aware of the problem. If you at least comment to let us know that you are aware and have plans to fix these severe game-crippling issues (SHOWSTOPPERS) then you provide a environment that you care about the game and the players not the cash. Even if you guys have no clue and do not understand the problem, let us know that you at least know about it.
I have commented that the mission threading is a TERRIBLE idea and the missions should be given out like they were before. I know you guys are trying to dumb-down the game a little bit because of the influx of the general mass of F2P'ers (ranking structure, etc...), but I don't think anyone is that stupid where they cannot figure out the mission tracking.
The mission giving should be based upon character level and as a VA1 (Level 50), I should be able to play any and every mission in the game. By the way, if you took an extra significant figure away from the XP rewards, it wouldn't hurt my feelings. The way it is now, one levels so very quickly in the game. While that is a longshot, I will just settle for a game that works.
Ok so here's the fix! At least the one that worked for me. Once I spoke with Captain Kurland and he asked me if I had information on the Land he asked me about... it said that the mission completed. I had to Drop the mission, exit out to Sector Space from DS9 and then go back in and speak with Captain Kurland. Once I talked to him it immediately completed. I had the mission in my Mission Log for quite a while, so I figured if I dropped it and started from scratch it may help. And it did!!
Good luck, I hope this works for some of yall too.
Edit: I just realized that the latest post in this thread was from 2012. /facepalm Sorry I didn't mean to revive a dead thread... but since the actual issue itself is STILL buggy, I figured someone else may stumble on my reply and it might work for them.

The ONLY mission I can do is HAIL T'Nae for 'Cutting the cord'
As the following picture shows, I obviously JUST finished 'Cutting', and yet the screen shows that I have yet to contact T'Nae for 'cutting'

Can someone link to other threads? I haven't seen this issue around and the search feature on this forum sucks.

Finally, reading the forums too much pays off!
Further down the list of missions (in the next mission set: cardassian) I found one that lets me hit skip, but the next one is greyed out.
Still no idea where to go from here.
all buttons greyed out.
