Since the Legacy of Romulus launched, I have noticed several gameplay changes that I feel have negatively affected the quality of combat - particularly in space.
1.Several NPC ships (frigates, escorts, and occasionally battleships) especially borg, can now use a type of Evasive maneuvers power, but as NPCs, they have no idea how to use it. This makes them fly at high speeds around the map making it difficult to keep them within 10 km without a tractor beam.
2. Elite STFs like hive: onslaught and Crystalline Catastrophe have gotten unnecessarily difficult. In hive, the unimatrix lance beams are fired more frequently and with almost 100% accuracy so it kills any respawning ships that attempt to enter the area. The CE now has ridiculous hit points and regen and it's attacks are so OP, it can take out even the most formidable tanks easily, making it evn more difficult than the original CE.
3. Unrestricted PvPvE/War Zones (i.e. Ker'rat and N'Vak). have had a level and difficulty increase so they behave like elite difficulty. this makes PvPvE much more difficult and less productive in terms of farming for loot.
4. Plasma damage dealt by player ships has been nerfed to the point where it is no longer a viable weapon setup in PvE. this change has not been as noticeable in PvP.
Whether these changes were intended or not, I feel that they negatively affect gameplay and need to be fixed/reverted

Indeed. The Elite CE is stupidly powerful, and regens apocalyptically fast. So fast, that a full team of ten people shooting it over the course of ten minutes did a maxiumum of damage of 3%.

I'm in two fleets everyone is very happy about theses change as its more exciting now.

I have trouble seeing how you think exploding every 5 seconds in pretty much everything (even in a cruiser), unbeatable missions, and OP weapons are fun?

I think the biggest (apparent) problem is that this power doesn't seem to buff their turn radius, so they make these big, sweeping loops out of combat range. At the very least, the AI doesn't choose to have them turn tighter.
I'm now fairly certain that the dev(s) primarily responsible for the task forces and fleet actions were bullied as children and use this kind of thing to "get back at people". I'd recommend therapy.
Probably the same issue as #2.
Hadn't particularly noticed, but I don't quibble too much over any of the distantly secondary effects of any of the weapons in the game. With a typically 2.5% chance of occurring... meh.

The lance is easily countered... Simply come in from the side.
As to the CE: Are you sure you aren't choosing elite? (required to know to even take a stance)

I think that guy was just trolling your thread. No one can be happy with these changes so he was just attempting (and a bad one) to derail your topic. The hive is so broke that last night my team was getting one shotted (all 5 of us) at the spawn point as soon as we respawned. Didnt even have time to click the full impulse button before we were all dead. And that was from over 20k away from targets.

I'm not at a level to really comment on problems 2, 3 and 4 since I can't play the new STF's yet and I don't use plasma weapons.
Number 1 however is the new 'Emergency Power to Engines'. Borg spheres, fed frigates and KDF cruisers all used it in the past but it wasn't that great. Now it gives a decent speed boost for 30 seconds, so of course all those ships now zip all over the place with ants in their pants.

the problem isn't that they are all zippy now; it's the fact that the AI was used to driving Ms. Daisy and are in a little over there heads now. I see em getting stuck in gates/structures ping ponging all around the map and a couple times bouncing off zone walls. imho not WAI
And iIf you thought grav wells were less than useful before for holding you're really gonna hate em now.
As far as CE normal is fine as long as people stop getting hit by crystals and buffing the thing. CE Elite; while the few times I tried it I ended up leaving due to regen, they were pugs so I can't swear that people were not getting hit by crystals and buffing Entity

1. Yes, balance was thrown to the wind when they changed powers, so those NPCs that used emergency engines are flying around like starfighters that multi-ton starships.
But it's not limited to Engines, NPCs that use other powers have multiplied effectiveness as well. And I've seen many players 1-shot by Torpedo Spreads (that wasn't Borg related for once), and 1-shot with other abilities, when they couldn't before.
Those who play No Win Scenario see this played out and really made it truely unwinable.
2) STF changes are related to #1, but with the CE, yeah they didn't cap the Re-crystalize buff and easily gets out of control to the point it actually can be unbeatable.

4) Plasma is fine. My Fed Tac uses Plasma Beams and I've didn't see any drop in capability, except when you get plasma fire on yourself (from being too close to plasma torpedo impacts), where the effect is more dangerous than before.
As for 1, but I think this is a good change. The PvE elements had way to much of a shooting at a wall type of feel to it. Now you actually have to track these things down. Also, I think this makes beams better because their firing arc is more of an asset with faster more mobile ships as opposed to hulking piles of hit points.
Keeping a team focused on a particular sphere etc requires a lot more awareness then it did before, which is awesome.
As for 4, I have not noticed much of a difference in my weapons and I use plasma. I could easily be missing something here though, as I am not too aware of my actual dps and damage etc.

Heck, it's the one damage type you can further enhance with more than just Tactical consoles. Embassy consoles can give it quite the boost.

100% accurate of the lance is easily countered? Even when your ontop of the queen you get shot so i think your just talking bs here!

But in doing so you need to spend lots of dilitium and can only use the embassy consoles (no regen/ field generators).
Its time they nerve Phasers...
