Electical popping sound?

Is it just me or is anyone else hearing a kind of electrical popping sound when the game is going? Its getting very annoying, sometimes its slow, and sometimes its fast, every few seconds or so Pop Snap.

p.s. To any devs paying attention, the hard work you are putting into getting things fixed is appreciated.

    Im currently having the same issue, and iv figured out what it is.

    Currently on any cryptic game, if i have the game sound turned on, i get a popping/cracking sound, if i turn all sound off in game and turn game sound all the way down in my system tray, it stops.

    Not sure what causes this but it is quite annoying.

    I also have this issue, it started right after the LOR patch.
    I'm on windows 7 ultimate X64 with an audigy sound blaster 2ZS, with the latest daniel_k driver pack...STO is the only program with this issue.
