as they have explained, the game is not built like Bridge Commander, they cannot have the player in two places at once, so they cannot have fighting from the bridge.
And I wish you could fly loopings, or at least 90 degrees up/down. I still hate to spiral up-/downwards to a target way above or below my ship. A flight model like "X-Wing", "Tie-Fighter", "X-Wing Alliance" and such would be nice. In space, directions are relative.
But I think we will never have this in the game. And I think, we won't get a bridge-view either. At least not in combat. In sector space it might be nice.
Well, most Star Trek ships are too big to rely on line-of-sight from the bridge. It's mostly instrumentation combat.
It's like naval vessels (which is what Star Trek is based on, after all), you don't see a Destroyer having to face the enemy in order to let loose a salvo.
"Jimmy! Shell the TRIBBLE out of these coordinates!"
"Ensign James, lock phasers onto the following coordinates."

Lifer since Closed Beta, never looked back.
Were you there when the Borg invaded the Alpha Quadrant and we all had an End-of-the-Universe party on Risa?
