This is just for all who (like me) couldn't fully receive the pre-update patch. Just to let you guys know that I just loaded the launcher, and LOR is now patching. I would suggest to do it now, as the patch is huge!
If your patch crashed halfway does it at least have the good sense to resume where you left off, or was this done so badly that I have to do the whole thing from scratch even though I have 46% of the thing?
If it has a resume from where it left off, I can actually grab it now. If not I have to wait a couple days because my monthly bandwidth limit will turn over.

I'll be ready in 3 hours time!
Which launcher did you use ?? The last 3 have been broken for me, could you post yours please ?
I downloaded the 5GB prepatch and thought I was good. I just tried to log-on and saw that I have to download another 10GB patch...I'm somewhat confused. It takes me about an hour per GB - so I have a nice 10+ hour wait

If you downloaded the pre-patch most of the new patch will take the data from the pre-patch. Thus you'll probably only need to download around 100-200 MBs.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

I can confirm that the 10 GB download is closer to 5 GB and the patcher will skip downloading stuff you already have. It is, in truth, only a few hundred megabytes.
Hopefully I can get on tomorrow and play. I have a DL limit but at 12 tonight EST I can DL whatever. My problem is that it will load to about 46% and stay there. Then the launcher vanishes. Talk about aggravating for me b/c while that was DL I could have been DL episodes of Arrested Development instead.
I have a question. I pre-patched this weekend. Now when logging in it wants to re-patch again. I already downloaded 20GB due to reinstallation. Do I really have to download another patch. I know it was completed on Sunday. I really don't want to do another hours of patching????

If you downloaded the pre-patch, then you're only going to download about (edited) 500 megs, maybe a gig, not 10 additional gigs.
If you did not download the pre-atch over the past week, then you're looking at downloading about 5 gigs of actual data downloads.
87% now, jesus with server down it makes patching quicker, get while you can.
I am concern, .. last time I was online just a few min ago, it was on 15%.. now I closed everything down thinking it was broken. Now and I am patching at 0.1%... and its downloaded more than 3000 kB..
I truly hope I don't have to download another 10GB.
When you close the launcher it always restarts at 0 but the amount you need to patch has been reduced. So if you downloaded 50% and then closed your launcher, the launcher starts at 0% again but the amount you need to patch has been cut in half.

Yes thankfully they seem to have fixed the issue in pre-patching where it would freeze at 46% then make you start over. Mine ripped through until 46% just unpackaging stuff, and now it seems to be downloading normally from that point on. Up to 50% now.
Could yet be a happy day.

two other members of a fleet i work with on the fed side (fleet originally a solo fleet wanted to do), they said to me that their patching is very slow going and at the rate they are going it will probably take the better part of the night and early tomorrow before its complete. On the other hand, i was finished about an hour ago. just waiting to log in and try it out now. the other two are waiting for a few days before they log in and play it and depending on if the server is packed and laggy or crashed, i will also be on in a few days.
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.
"The meaning of victory is not to merely defeat your enemy but to destroy him, to completely eradicate him from living memory, to leave no remnant of his endeavours, to crush utterly his achievement and remove from all record his every trace of existence. From that defeat no enemy can ever recover. That is the meaning of victory."

Mine is downloading in kbs right now, starting and stoping at times and im like 128mb from completion.
I got a 100/100mbit fibre line and its going sooo slooooooooow.
The main thing to keep in mind about Cryptic's patcher is that the numbers for amount patched (upper set of numbers) are for the -total- amount of game files to be patched, which is different from the lower number displayed -- the actual amount of data received via the patch server. The upper number that shows progress for the complete patch process will always be X amount of 10GB for this patch. That doesn't mean you need to DL the entire 10GB.
The lower number doesn't state a final/goal amount -- because it will be different depending on how much you already have via pre-patches, Tribble, if you're a returning player who's a version or two behind, etc. Unfortunately, that means you don't get a true idea of just how much you need to DL until it's all done. But generally speaking, the actual DL amount is much less than the full size of the patch (even things like file compression help reduce this, I believe -- if you didn't pre-patch or play on Tribble, it may not be a 10GB download -- though that's supposition on my part).
For the most part, it's not as bad as it looks when you look at that top set of figures and see it listed as a 10GB patch. I played on Tribble and had that build up-to-date, so I didn't even bother with the pre-patch. (Haven't played on Holo for a while.) After copying over files from the Tribble directory, I had a total download of about 1MB. YMMV, and all that.

The last 2-4% of the patch is the largest portion. It takes the longest to get through.

i personally think they should have gotten some extra temporary bandwidth for the first couple of days , espeically with the prepatch fiasco some or many had to endure.
I have been trying to get this prepatch in for days while it always crashed halfway. I have the bandwidth to finish this baby in like one minute , like many others , but its crawling at 10 kb/sec and that is for todays standards very slow.
Ahwell guess ill have to endure and hope people finish so we unlucky ones get more of the bandwidth
