Hello Star Trek Online!

I have been hearing that there is a lot of unsureness about the actual rules and info for the Channel. So This is to let everyone know of the Official and Updated channel information for the EliteSTF Channel

Also we have a new channel called EliteEVENT which is for All PvE Events and Content Excluding Borg STFs. If you'd like an invite send a mail to @UFP-74656.

Elite STF Channel Rules:
Unlike some other channels

....We want this channel to be Professional, Civil and Worthy of the Word "Elite". That being said we do our best to apply rules that create a Professional Atmosphere, adapt to certain situations and at the same not be TOO Restrictive.
So we do our best to maintain a "Common Sense" definition on all the Rules we make.

CURRENT MEMBER COUNT: Over 3,900!

No Racial, Political, Religious or otherwise Discriminating Remarks, Slurs or Arguments will be Tolerated.

No Trolling, Spamming, Flaming, Grieving, Arguing or other form of Harassment to other players will be Tolerated.

No Inappropriate language, Trading, Selling or Fleet Recruitment in the channel please.

Please Use Words for your LFG name, as too many Xs, Zs...etc.. can cause confusion at times.

I think it's time you had a thin-out of your players.

No offence but the standard in ESTF now is no better than pugs. Over the past year it's been getting steadily worse - the only difference is you get to avoid AFKers (mostly) but I even ran an STF with you lot once which had an AFKer in it!

If you discover someone who is genuinely bringing the channel down, you can report them and we will take the appropriate action.

I should caution you that we do need evidence though.

Screenshots are the preferred method.

Failing that, you can get 2 or more of your teammates to support your account.

There are just too many players for us to check one by one, so we rely on the channel users to identify the weak links.

Over at PESTF involving the community has played a huge role in ensuring everything keeps moving nicely. Same as yourselves with 3700+ subs and our active player base, its always nice when guys keep us updated in chat on channel with any issues.

Keep it up lads! We wouldn't be here without you.

Your example doesn't really make it clear do you say "LF2M CSE voodoo" of "CSE voodoo"

Perhaps it should say: (for example: LF2M for CSE voodoo is right/wrong, CSE voodoo is right/wrong) crossing out right or wrong where applicable.

The most ironic thing is that all of those rules were only needed in a time when the channel was active and 4 or 5 games were being opened at the same time. Now it's like one game every 5 minutes, sometimes less, but still they insist that no one must speak.

Because it disrupts people's chat windows. because chat tabs don't exist I suppose. Also as people mentioned, the standard these days is disappointing. You don't get leechers, which is still something, but don't expect your teammates to be any better than those from pugs who aren't afk.

Occassional offtopic is permitted, especially if not much is going on.

But we will draw the line at pages and pages of unending chat, especially if it's obscuring team building.

As for the LFG formatting, what it means is that you can't say LF2M CSE CSE, where CSE is both the STF and the codephrase to be invited to the STF.

Any other word insertions are up to the invididual poster, if they want a longer and humorous or witty LFG, just as long as they don't make profane or inappropriate humor as the rules outline.

some people just cant take some friendly competition?

You were on very thin ice with us, we were only letting you be in the channel in an attempt to be nice.

Then we saw you putting ads for a competing channel in our thread.

We don't go to your thread and advertise EliteSTF, do we?

That's when you used up your final chance.

And you've just done it again with this post.

Well to be frank your channel doesn't have a good reputation with most people I have bumped into in elite STF. Though the outright kicking from the channel with no communication until afterwards or warning to begin with says more about your channel than anything else.

I was tempted to join your events channel to help fill up 20 player KDF fleet defence missions but I think I will now pass. Perhaps you should have asked "please could you remove the adverts for your own channel" first before resorting to kick and creating more bad rep.

i cant change my sig just to say hello.... thin ice lols, did you type that with *grrrrr face*? i haven't even been on ESTF in months, only stayed in to watch the car crashes and compare channel numbers (which we're winning...ill have our tal shiar guys keep an eye)

I'm actually not here to troll or flame and i hope nobody takes it as that.

eitherways its all good, like i said without you guys , having been the inspiration for PESTF when you originally kicked me last year,
(and reinvited me hoping i wouldnt keep building PESTF, the BIG tune change always puzzled me at that time)
we wouldn't be where we are today. ESTF was the 1st and original, and i completely shake your hands on it, but in recent times your over the top draconian moderation and rules are PESTF's biggest recruiter so thanks also.

I leave you on some solid advice. Recognise the importance of a quality STF channel useable by all. You guys have either overlooked or forgotten this. STF channels are a great resource and a real blow when you dont have access to one with regular games, which was the case before PESTF. The player base knows this and its a bitter pill to swallow when you kick people on the drop of a hat so any animosity you've generated for yourselves in recent times is entirely your own doing. Cmon you kicked one of your own long serving mods for being too easy going by your standards.

PS I actually have no animosity for ESTF, and have even defended it on occasion, i honestly believe theres no reason we cant all get along, we do things differently, different strokes for different folks, the player base has the choice of two flavours of channel, some will swear by ESTF others PESTF, but ultimately will go where the games are, which in recent months PESTF has the volume, and quality since guys are able to help each other without fear of being kicked for talking.

No hard feelings eitherways, I wish all the mod staff all the best and well wishes for LOR, see you all in game I'm sure with the new fancah rommies!

If you're looking for teams that are ~half a step better than your average pug (1.5k dps!) and want to deal with blow hard moderators and pointless rules to get there, then this is the channel for you!

I form teams from both, but I have to agree that the moderation in ESTF is way overboard, both now and in the past. You may be attempting to revamp your rules, but your attitude towards members is both callous and unprofessional, and has driven off some great players. You made your bed, now lie in it. PublicEliteSTF is open to all, so by and large the players you get from there can be a crapshoot as far as quality is concerned, but at least I can type in that channel without fear of saying something wrong and being threatened with a ban. You guys seriously needed a lesson in manners, and your dwindling numbers are that lesson.

You've been told multiple times in this thread already. Too many rules, too many letter of the law/power tripping channel mods, all for mediocre at best player base. I too was kicked from the channel shortly after I rejoined the game during the Anny event. Apparently my silly join phrases and/or use of sentences as join phrases was too much at the time. Add in a dash of chiding moderators for missing the point (little did I know that rules like no x/y/z or not using the name of the stf as joins were actually rules someone would find worth enforcing), and I was pm'd a warning by one mod while being kicked by another.

My personal suggestions for the channel:

Remove the more anal of rules. Channel community is more than able to police these themselves, and in my previous stint playing when I never saw mods in the channel, this was never an issue anyway. Xyz/cse/whatever isn't worth hounding people over

Lighten up on cross talk. You're an "elite" stf channel, talk pertaining to STFs or fits should be common sense. Instead, if someone says more than 2 sentences on a topic Mr Mod is all up ons.

Decide if you actually want to be "elite". As right now, you provide the same service and quality that public elitestf does, while requiring the extra hurdle of having to ask to be in. Either continue to be a catch all and go public, or continue invite only, say like the DPS-5k route with a basic parsed ISE run to show you can actually fit a ship. We've already poached multiple quality members from both channels who were tired of flying with just barely above pug quality teammates from either estf channel.

Get mods who understand when they are actually needed and aren't just looking to be big man on campus

hmm i remember this channel some one had a go at me for helping someone with their skill build and wot consoles there should use for e,g phaser weapons.
PublicEliteSTF is a lot better at least no one has a go at you for been helpful there welcome it there.

I've been hearing more from disgruntled people that the EliteSTF channel is not so elite anymore, getting weaker ships and some poor players.

We've all had bad matches, nothing new, but of late it seems to be getting more noticeable.

I've been noticing that people are advertising in the PublicEliteSTF channel and the EliteSTF channel for the same matches.

That could be one source of the problem.

Is it time for a new rule? Matches adverted fromthe EliteSTF channel shal not be co-adverted in the PublicEliteSTF channel? Those found doing so would get a warning, then a removal?

Theres nothing elite about the channel.Most people who knew the elite stuffs moved (because they were kicked) to the public channel or get people in opvp lol

This thread is the reason I pug stf's and pve's instead of joining an stf/pve channel. Yes I may have to deal with an occasional afk'er, but there is NO DRAMA! Honestly, I'd love to be able to form teams, discuss tactics, etc., but not when everyone is acting like a bunch of four year olds fighting over who makes the best mud pie.
