Can we rip out the adapted borg core and stick it into a normal romulan ship to get rid of the singularity powers? Or can we stick it into a federation/kdf ship or is it limited to the tal shiar ships only?
Only Tal Shiar ships can use these cores, and standard M/AM cores (Not Singularity Cores) can be used on them, but they will miss out on their set bonuses if they do.
OMG, Why why ST:O why putting romulan ships in lockbox....this game is not realistic any more. . .i think only allays ship would be real to use in lockboxes (like for example for fed's: andorian, vuclan. . .etc. . .klingons: Gorn, orion. . .etc), tell me did federation ever get in any tv series/move romulan (Tal'Shiar) ship that is not blown away. . .i do not think so. . .
iThink many people (including me) will stop play this game, because this game dos not have any more Star Trek element, it's like i am playing NeverWinter, basically ((MMO))RPG. . .
And for who are you making this game, for kid's. . .because first mission on Romulan f. is for kid's, bugs from cave, colony (planet) is totally for 7 years old child. . .
-->Whit this Tal'Shir ship's romulan's are not unique any more. . .
don't forget jj has taken star trek and turn it into milking something dry bang for buck trek. star trek is having an identity crisis and so is sto sadly. this game has had an identity crisis since the 1st lockbox. when doing stfs you see more non factional ships then you do factional ships.
This probably won't stop me from playing the game, but...
Fed captains flying Tal'Shiar ships...
That's a bit of a stretch even for my willingness-of-disbelief.
The lock box contents have pretty much become PvP manna-from-heaven and perhaps RP fodder...
To me, they really aren't very relevant to PvE any more.
I won't be wasting my money on them from now on.

This I agree with. The only ship I ever spent actual money and resources on was the bug ship in its first inception.
Not spent a penny on box ships since.
However, this is just getting ridiculous.......

Firstly the Tal'Shiar ships other tan vaguely resembling romulan ships and being Romulan in origin have absolutely NOTHING in common with the Romulan ships in game (Battle Cloak, Singularity core etc). Also the Tal'Shiar being a separate faction to the Romulans opens the door for this to be ok for me and probably others. I do agree that it is a little ridiculous with FED/KDF running around in other factions ships but you have to remember STO has a strong RP community, something that's been there since the start and many people who RP love being able to have these ships to enhance their RP experienc. Others factions ships have been in STO for what nearly 2 years now? So I'd don't think many people will actually stop playing the game over it. You of course are free to do so.
The Tal Shiar Adapted ships are amazingly powerful. Besides the Singularity Powers (and power deficit) and Battle Cloak, the Khnial loses nothing, but gains everything, including the base turn I'd like to see on the C-Store D'Deridex. That makes me sad.
The Llaihr loses a trivial bit of turn/impulse, but gains so much.
Questions:
Can the Tal Shiar Adapted ships use console sets from their "base" Romulan ships? Can the Khnial use the Molecular Phase Inverter and the Projected Singularity consoles that the other D'derdex use? Can the Llaihr use the Singularity Inverter and Sabotage Probe?
What is the power bonus to Auxiliary on the Tal Shiar Adapted Borg Warp Core? Also, you may also want to clarify in the blog that these new Tal Shiar Adapted ships can use Fed/KDF Matter/Antimatter Cores (losing set bonus, granted).
Does the Llaihr actually have a 1,200 crew? The other versions of the Dhelan only have 450.

you know nothing storatt.
These are not Romulan ships. Those ships are exclusive to the Romulan faction, these are borgified tal shiar ships.
Ally ships are for sale in the cstore, as they should be. Lockbox ships are always for non-factions, like the Cardassians, Tholians, Dominion and now Tal Shiar. The Tal Shiar are not part of the romulan campaign or faction. They are the enemy and these are not romulan ships.
Evidently if you can't understand this, you probably should stop playing the game because the game isn't for you.
My personal thoughts, this is a great way to bring these ships into the game. I don't totally agree with letting fed/kdf have them, but they're not romulan ships, they're tal shiar.
They also seem a little OP to be honest, little bit of P2W going on here...
Please note that this FAQ contains a full list of possible prizes that can be won from opening a Tal Shiar Lock Box, as well as a list of new items being added to the Lobi store.
bran, copy/paste from more up to date places! its got to be 4 eng, 3 sci, 2 tac right?
Yup, as I already asked.
Also, note that the Mirror Ha'feh has its Boff layout same to normal Ha'feh (but gets one console slot switched).
These two must be typos/errors.

Even if they are Tal'Shiar, if Tal'Shiar is separate faction, i do not think federation woul ever get that tech.
And this game is not any more realistic,i can see for example cation ship on fed. side becose they are ally, but i do not think federation woul ever get Tal'Shiar ship, so PWE plzz stop think on money for sec, and try to make this game better, there is so many whey's you can get money from us. . .

I was hoping to see Romulan Star Empire costume options made available, but oh well. Hopefully later. Personally, I'd love to kit out my Romulan character in the TNG/DS9 era uniforms, or at least the 2409 Imperial uniforms. I know there's a uniform that you get via the story missions, but it's quite limited, and doesn't include all the options available to the Imperial NPCs.

This character is why I don't play my Romulan any more. Tovan Khev is NOT my BFF! Get him off my bridge!
These two ships looks amazing. I cant wait to fly them.
as for complaints about flying tal shiar ships. these are not your typical romulan ships. they would never be part of the romulan republic military so i have no issue with them.
as for being unrealistic, sorry but did the previous 6 lockboxes and breen cruiser not give you a clue? that is the direction the game is going. if you dont like it then fine, either dont fly the ship or dont play the game but they are not going to suddenly stop. they are making them money, they are popular and they are not going away.
Those talshiar ships look really really tempting. They look great and their stats are just at good.
My only issue with them, too much hull for their respective turn rates. Or vice versa.
With 39k hull, should be 7 turn rate to match star cruiser/orion marauder hull/turn stats.
With 42k hull, should be 5.5 or so to match similar hulled ships.
If those are going to remain as is, these two will be the first step away from the typical hull to turn rate ratio Gecko has been keeping in the game thus far.

By your logic all mirror ships should be usable by all players, after all mirror federation, klingons, romulans are not part of respective factions from prime universe. Cryptic should also add mirror galaxy, sovergin, vesta, bortasqu, d'deridex available to anybody from any faction.
Personally I don't care, there is so little trek left in this game that I just take from it what I like and ignore all the rest (at least in the game that is what I do, I like to complain on the forums about things I don't like :P )
[SIGPIC]Join Date: August 2009[/SIGPIC] I live in an alternate universe, where j.j. abrams and cryptic never existed,

The battle cruiser is definitely the one to go for, for me. I'll safe it up for a Borgified Rommie captain. It has a good combination of firepower and performance (definitely like the Uni Commander). I think I can make a good backstory for my Liberated Borg Romulan.
The latest lockbox is a compromise between giving something new based on current theme and not giving non-Roms the Romulan-specific abilities. However, some of the issues raised with current Rom abilities (i.e., singularity ability) makes me concerned that the Borg ship may come out as a better RA/VA ship than the Romulan-specific RA/VA ships. I haven't played a character to that level on Tribble (don't want to spoil the entire storyline, so I stopped after testing out the first few 30-level missions), but the comments on forum do make me concerned that Rom toons may not have all that is needed to make them a good space-fighting faction (in Romulan ships).
We will all get to start testing it out today (tomorrow for me in Korea) and over the long weekend.
Can you buy a Tal Shiar Adapted Battle Cruiser with a fed character and then transfer it to your rom?
It is a non-faction ship in the Lobi store, so you can buy it with any toon and then move it to the one that will use it (once unboxed, it will stay with the toon).
Comments
how about some gameplay videos instead of just small screenshots and some text?
no crazy trailer stuff... with lots of xplosions... and shaky cam stuff... but actual gameplay, with UI... and showing how the abilities work etc.
The consoles can only be equipped on Tal Shiar ships.
Only Tal Shiar ships can use these cores, and standard M/AM cores (Not Singularity Cores) can be used on them, but they will miss out on their set bonuses if they do.
