Come on cryptic sit down with paramount and talk about getting to use some things from the abrams movies in game especially as a zen store pack. I'm sure they wouldn't play too hard ball.
I mean come on, love the movies or loathe them you can't deny the new uniforms, effects, bridge designs and the new connie it's self would make a great addition to the game. After all they are sleek and more modern and would certainly be bought and used by many players.
So come on cryptic do a lot of us a favour.

Sure, they could just hand over the rights to sell the stuff, but a lore reason would have to be given. Even the simply reason for the bugs and wells ships being ingame have some viable, though thin, reason for being ingame.

Just my opinion though, I really think the exterior of the JJprise is ugly. Paint it black and it would look like it was designed by Wayne Enterprises. I wish it would look a little more like the prime Enterprises. Simple lines are the best. I like the interiors, the white hues are reminicent of TMP, which is good. The bridge looks good ( I do like all the plexiglass), but it's a bit too confusing. The JJ films has some of the better uniforms I've seen.

This character is why I don't play my Romulan any more. Tovan Khev is NOT my BFF! Get him off my bridge!
My first thought of seeing them was something like, uh, when did trek become tainted by fascist stylists? -Clear reference to a various set of WW2 german officer style, Italian, spanish argentinian etc, etc, ...from the time where dictators ruled with a hard hand.
It really does not befit Star trek to have uniforms that, even colourwise resemblence said style of uniforms. Star Trek uniform'ery has always been a Little original. Some may even go as far as calling them weird, or something. But at least they managed to cut away the resemblence of 1900's era of powermonging.

if that is true then i somewhat doubt cbs can then go over to paramount and ask for access to their stuff as well. that would go over like a lead balloon.
corporations like control of their brands and they dont like things that water it down. i doubt they want too give control of aspects over to CBS to use. if they ever do it will be smaller stuff like what is already seen in the timeline (ie the jellyfish ship, the nerada etc) but even that right now seems unlikely.
He does want too work on something which he not interested in story wise... (if he was they won't have a reboot). JJ darft script killed Earth, Worf, Riker, Picard, Janeway, Sisko, everything. AND I MEAN EVERYTHING! It was only because of STO they got changed. So only Romulus was destroyed, as STO was happening.
Also CBS and PAR are very clear on what can and can not be done and this point in time, they want it to be separate. It gets unclear who gets paid, as par owns the right for movies now, CBS has TV series and movies up X.

Then we can have people flying around in their own Borg Cubes, and Fesarius ships, perhaps justifications could be made for Imperial Star Destroyers! I've always been a fan of the Executor, and it's TOTALLY something I could see Starfleet flying! Oh, and maybe if we beg hard enough we can play as Q or Founders or other omnipotent beings like Gary Mitchell!
OP - Canon and immersion might not mean much to you, but if you remove it completely, the very last shreds of believability will be ripped away on this game, and then they can close up shop and shut off the lights, because nobody wants to play in a "structured universe" where the structure has about as much meaning as the ramblings of a psych ward patient.
Stop asking for JJverse stuff. No ships, no uniforms, no nothing. It has no place here.
