Beta Reward Idea

So, sitting here waiting for yet another patch to finish, with a slow down at 83%, I begin to think.

We are nearing go time for LoR. Great. Many have put in a number of hours away from their fleets, characters, and Holodeck, troubleshooting this great new addition to the game we enjoy.

We are to receive a reward of some type for Beta weekend and I thought to myself, "Self, what would be a great gift from Cryptic for all that fun work?"

And I answered, "How about letting us keep these characters we have played up in Beta and allowing them to be transferred to Holodeck?"

What a fantastic idea. Can this be done? It would allow all to keep the effort of days playing through content. Can Cryptic "Make It So"?

    Keep dreaming. :P

    Going by previous rewards and the forthcoming Tholian Rep, it's a safe bet that it's a tribble that poops Nukara marks with a 1 hour CD.

    Maybe. Thats the trend. But never hurts to post a better idea and see what happens. ;)

    Yeah, and bring back ALL the reputation item for free, from the tribble DS9 trader :)

    Eh, I thought it would be neat to get a claimable veteran Tovan Khev boff for Federation and KDF captains.

    I mean, this is an expansion and not just some season update, right? Why not celebrate it with something more than 'just another tribble'?


    That said, and personally speaking, my 'reward' is the hope that I helped make the game just a little bit better by reporting bugs and offering feedback.

    If I recall, this has been asked before, just about every other major Tribble release. The devs have stopped responding, but I remember one of them mentioning that the code on Tribble was slightly different from the code on live, and the two wouldn't match for some reason.

    also long as its not a trib to go to my bank to get dusty I will be happy but it will more then likely be one like 99% of all test rewards have been

    Maybe a tribble that poops Nukara marks and a special boff? A Romulan Warfare Specialist who gives bonus damage versus Elachi on Ground and Space would be excellent.

    maybe an epohh, which, when used, vanishes and gives romulan players t5 rom rep :P provided they are level 50 ofc hahaha

    This is ask every time. IT IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. the test server character WILL NEVER be put on Holodeck.

    If this is correct then that would be a valid reason not too. Thanks for posting an informed opinion

    There is no greed motivation. Just an idea. No need for you to assume a negative motive. My idea is better than a tribble.

    I am perfectly fine with just the opportunity to contribute to play testing as well. And I like this idea as well.

    Here's another valid reason:

    Doing so would give you an edge on Romulan end-game content in a way that is unfair to others.

    So why not just take a nice pat on the back for helping test the new content. And maybe a free tribble for your assistance? Something fluffy that doesn't really impact gameplay? The other poster called you greedy because your idea kind of flies in the face of logic and goes against the point of the test server.

    EDIT: Another reason this would be a huge no-no. I currently have one of my main characters copied over there. And can load my Romulan up with all that EC.

    Wish it was a unique one of a kind ship ....i doubt that highly

    But realisticly i think its gonna be a special tholian tribble that poops nukara marks.

    I understand, I was pointing out they would likely need to delete the dil/EC/any equipement they have, because it's really easy to "exploit" those on tribble.

    Also, and I don't think I'm the only one, I've created my Romulan pretty randomly, since I knew they would be deleted anyway. I made a random name, random face....
    Even if I were able to keep it, I would delete it anyway. I would rather have a Nukara tribble.

    Every game I've ever played with a public test server/shard/realm always has these kinds of threads.

    And the answer is always the same.

    A big, fat, resounding "No!"

    I got fed up with Tribbles i got so many isnt even funny one for almost every color shade of the rainbow. Get me a actual star trek phaser / rifle and or disruptor that has "maximum setting" AND actually evaporate enemies single shot. :D

    Hehe I call mine a Combat Epohh all the time when he zones in with me for a colony run or something. Then in team chat I'll go ..

    "Cry Havoc, and let slip the Epohh's of War!" or something along those lines :)

    As for the beta test reward.

    Tribble, yeah good possibility

    Epohh? yeah totally down with that.

    or maybe... maybe... The Scimitar!!!

    i would like something usefull seen as i was a invited LoR tester 1701 zen would be very nice :P or something like a weapon that lvls with u to help me get my new rommy char to lvl 50. but i know its going to be a tribble that gives u 1 mark a hour :(
