Last Chance Promotion [Now Ended]

As of Tues., May 21st, 2013, before maintenance, Dominion Lock Boxes will stop dropping as in-game rewards. Until the same time, we're also running a special lock box promotion. Read more for full details.

    Excellent, I expected something like this would happen, though I thought after LoR launched. :)

    Hopefully this will cause ships to dip in price on the exchange a bit so I can get a cheap Galor for my D'Deridex Lemon'n'Lime Spiral-Disruptor pseudo rainbow boat plans to come to "fruit"ion .:D

    Little disappointed there there is no boost given to the Dominion boxes like we've seen in the past before a box is taken down. A little relieved though, considering I just opened about 30 boxes in the last few days.

    Previous boxes weren't added to the Dil Store? :(

    considering the dom lock boxes are to be taken down just before the 21st patch, its a good chance to dump another new box on the set after patching, especially if it has been ready for use.

    Always a nice idea to issue the older lockboxes again, all of them have some nice items that I'd want to obtain for my chars., especially the new Romulan ones.

    Q, I hope not. Not at launch anyway. There are enough ways to spend money... they should wait till wallets can regenerate from the Romulan onslaught. :D

    I've always felt that since the lockboxes are themed, they should drop from the corresponding mobs. In other words, Tholians would drop Tholian lockboxes, Cardassians would drop Cardassian lockboxes, and so on. If you're looking for a specific type of lockbox, you grind the appropriate enemy to get it.

    While I don't doubt they might delay the next lockbox for a bit, Unless you have a very rare Regenerative Wallet [Reg x4], I doubt there will be enough time for your wallet to sufficently regenerate. Probably a week at most.

    And lets be honest, it is not wholly unexpected.

    On Tribble last night, I opened a lockbox and acquired a mirror version of a t5 warbird. Not sure what that means in regards to what happens on the 21st and beyond, but I was a bit surprised at the time.

    Granted, probably not as many "Few" as many would hope, but oh well.

    Would it be possible to hold off on introducing the new lockbox to Holodeck until we've had a few weeks to enjoy LoR without getting spammed with lockbox drops?

    Unless of course, you bought the Legacy pack when it first came out - in which case you basically have everything Romulan in the C-Store - and have been paid several times since.

    the new one will probably be out the 21st, I wouldn't be surprised if it had the Tuffli in it again. After all the Romulans are trying to build a new world, they're gonna need a lot of supplies.

    Personally, I like the lockboxes so I'm hoping there will be a new one available on the 21st. I was actually expecting the dominion to box to end and a new one come in with or close to the 21st. Lets start guessing what the next one will be! I'm thinking Hirogen or Delta Quadrant.

    People have found through looking into the game files that the next lock box might be with the Tal'Shiar. Though a Delta Quadrant box isn't out of the question sometime during the next season release.

    The Tal Shiar symbol is an indirect red herring, the upcoming lockbox/Lobi Store release will have a distinct Elachi flavor. The Elachi are allied with the Tal Shiar, hence the symbol on the box (also there to keep the "mystique" of the new baddies going). I can already taste the mushrooms.

    While the evidence does appear undisputable, there is the fact that you get a COMPLETELY stripped Elachi S'golth escort - with VA stats - in the last mission of the Elachi arc. That just SCREAMS "LOCKBOX SHIP" to me.

    was excited to log in and snag some lockboxes but game is unplayable, in the 5 minutes i logged in, rubberbanding, server not responding and disconected 4 times :(

    I thought it was just me with the lag lol , not had more than 1 drop in over 20 stf's

    My guess is that the next lockbox will be Elachi themed.

    It's sad ... every time Cryptic designs awesome new enemy ships, they ruin it by making them playable. :(

    They can start dropping lockboxes whenever they please. Collecting them causes neither me nor my wallet any distress.

    I have 51 dominion lock boxes in my inventory. Will I still be able to open them after the 21st?

    You can always open any lockbox if you get a key from somewhere. The promotions just occasionally add other stuff to the rewards.

    Anyone else notice that since yesterday Cardassian and Temporal lock boxes have been dropping instead of Dominion ones?
