Maybe I missed something with all the overlapping VOs or not reading every line of pop-ups.
But when you do Coliseum, at the end when Hakeev beams in he starts monologuing and tells you that you "Took his eye"
Im not sure at what point I was supposed to have done that. My thought was that its some Fed mission I didnt play or some change that was made but the VOs will never be updated to reflect that.
Now I would glady have poked him in the eye but it seems like he has injured when I first meet him.
Oh that happened the very first time you met him. When you fled Virinat in your old warbird and fought him off with Temer, there was an explosion on his ship and in the dialogue box he screams "Auuuuughh my eye!" After that he always appears with his eye messed up.
Edit: Oh was it during the allegiance mission? Hmm I could have sworn it was at the beginning. Oh well, it was very early on in the story line.
'Have you been injured during work and it wasn't your fault? Sometimes sorry just isn't enough. Ferengi Insurance Lawyers 4 You. No win, no fee*.' Hakeev should get in touch!
"*no fee applies to processing your minimum fee. Come on, we're Ferengi!"
Yes, it's in the last bits of the Tutorial, in orbit of Virinat. Hakeev uncloaks behind the Elachi ship, and then Temer shows up, and you and Temer fight Hakeev.
If you pay attention to the contact dialogs, Hakeev has both eyes when he first shows up in the system, and after the fight, he's missing one.

He definitely scream "Agh my eye" when you first beat him in the starter ship and he's in the D'Deridex. so maybe the injury started then but you finish the eye off for good during the alliegiance choice lol.

It would be a hilarious running gag if every time he shows up his eye gets gouged out ...again

It was exactly like Taco describes, unsurprisingly. I remembered Hakeev right away
when I first saw him in the new romulan story arc, even though it's been ages since
I last played the romulan featured series. And yes, in the beginning his eye was still
intact, and then after the fight he screams and is wounded.
And then i nodded, grinning, thinking to myself "So that's how that happens, very cool..."

*hmmmmm* *thinks again* Ohh.... now I remember... in Allegiance his contact picture has a SCAR instead of a Borg implant.
Yeah, that was pretty cool to see that in the game. That's one of the things I enjoyed when it came to the LoR testing I did.. though I stopped playing after picking a faction. I want to keep the rest secret. But I really enjoyed seeing Hakeev losing his eye and seeing Slemak (sp?) on the colony and watch him get captured.
We need a public service announcement.... Most death in Star Trek are from one's own ship, a console blowing up in your face breaks up families......for one dollar you can donate for the price of a fuse, and save lives.
This donations are part of the Redshirt widows fund.
Can't help laughing about this. You fire with a kit bashed ship at a capital ship and the commander cries, Aghh my eye. For the rest of the game he is going around with, I don't know what in his eye.
That guy is mr. Pain himself and cries like a litle baby when he got something in his eye. BTW. I think it is better for starship personel to wear some eye protection, after all, some nasty accidents can happen.

I noticed that, however, Hakeev cries out in agony (nice VO here) but there is no associated animation of the character whatsoever. Not even the lip movement.

That's why people do not notice it.
Quoted for truth. I heard his scream, but I thought it was just frustration at being beaten by a 150 year old T'liss.
Maybe a short cutscene, just a few seconds long, would do the trick.
"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them." -Thomas Marrone
Well, I don't know. English is not my native language.
To modify any project and TRIBBLE it up with non-stock parts, often with interesting results. Use of existing or scrap pieces (from just about anything) is usually prefered to fabrication of new ones.
My mechanic had to kitbash my two non-working autos into one working auto. We call it "Frankencar."
This is more or less what I meant to say. Thought it was not so bad. (It is from Urban Dictionary - kitbash)

that's close....
A more precise definition would be: To take one or more sets of part kits and make them into something other than what they were intended to make.

My thoughts exactly. I'd scream as well, being him.
TOIVA, Toi Vaxx, Toia Vix, Toveg, T'vritha, To Vrax: Bring in the Allegiance class. Toi'Va, Ti'vath, Toivia, Ty'Vris, Tia Vex, Toi'Virth: Add Tier 6 KDF Carrier and Raider. Tae'Va, T'Vaya, To'Var, Tevra, T'Vira, To'Vrak: Give us Asylums for Romulans.
Part of the confusion over the word kitbash is that in Star Trek it also refers specifically to ships that were made for backgrounds of scenes on TV from random parts, where no one would see the horror that is an Intrepid class ship crossed with a Maquis raider

His tagline could be "he used to be a Captain till he took a console to the Eye" lol

Don't make ARC mandatory! Keep it optional only!
and basically all Hakeev ever does is scream anyway. I guess if you are total noob you dont know that yet and it might have more impact
