Since I've been using them, I notice the Contraband just goes directly into your inventory as well as EC, but I wasn't sure about Commodities. I keep getting the normal commodity drops from fighting but I was wondering do you have to pick up the Commodities that Slavers proc or do they just get put directly into your inventory like Contraband and EC?
Fell free to drop me a line for anything! @jonnyreload
No wonder everyone and their mother is spamming those things.
From the day they were introduced. 'Normal' slavers get you 'common' commodities, the 'Advanced' gets you the 'uncommon' variety, which means contraband basically. Isn't this great? You may have to spend 30k+ dil to per hangar, but it really doesn't take long before they have paid for themselves plus nothing is better if you're trying to lay down a persistent disruptor proc on a target.
I usually get an average of 2 per STF. In theory, each slaver's proc can get you 12 contraband (that's the most I've seen per proc) and I've gotten as high as 32 contraband from a single STF. I can also get them from other things, but so far have not gotten any from the new CC event.
Every time I hear them mentioned, I think, "Cool, I should try them." Can they only be mounted in Orion FDCs? If so I'll make my "testbed carrier" a Corsair Retrofit, otherwise I may try a Voquv.

I'm sure your DPS is great, but as Kahless said, "a petaQ with high system mastery is still a petaQ." (Well, he should have said it...!)
I fly the Vo'Quv, and have been using the Orion Slavers since I could afford them. Only in daily events, tho, as in STF's and other serious fights I switch to my Elite Scorpions. Being able to sell off a stack of contraband every couple of days or so for the usual 1 mil plus is a real boost to the wallet .....

Perhaps an experienced carrier captain could outline how efficient advanced slavers are at gathering contraband; i.e., how long it will take them to earn back the 60K dilithium it costs to buy them.
Well, during one session of Crystalline Catastrophe, my slavers stole 6 Contraband from the Crystalline entity... Sometimes there's nothing. So I'm going to hazard a guess that it'll take a week or so to earn back the dil for one set of slavers (assuming your only source of dil is contraband from said slavers).

problem is the unrefined ore you get from the Doff mission has a lot less value than the refined ore it costs to but them. Generally Dilith ore is easy to get the value in it is that you can only refine 8k per char per day.
How Much is the other stuff they get worth? Like how much EC do they farm?
I've been wondering if I should get them to help with increasing my EC income, I find it harder to get than Dilith since you can only refine 8k a day.
I'm pretty sure theres a loot cap per toon on contraband is probally why my toon that uses slavers rarely ever gets any maybe like once a month it'll loot contraband.

The EC they loot directly is very small, usually less than a thousand, and the non-Contraband Commodities typically aren't worth much and come in very small stacks. Contraband itself, however, is worth around 40k EC each unit. As for the Dil refine limit, if you have a Fed char that isn't hitting their limit you can mail the Contraband to that one and refine it there, and pool it into the Dil -> Zen Exchange at 25 and pull it back out on your KDF to help them pay for themselves.
I have been flying a Vo'Quv with the basic BOPs on them, and am about to upgrade to a shiny new Kar'Fi. I was wondering which pets to put on it, and was debating between the slavers and the Frigates. Maybe one of each until I get the Romulan Rep up on the KDF side for the Elite Scorps?

I run one of hangar of Advanced Frigates and one of Advanced Slavers myself and they seem to work well together for most things. If you're trying to bring down something's HP without killing it straight off (like gens in ISE PuGs), you need to be very careful between the frigate Trics and the Slavers' Quantum mines, I've been switching off the gens at 30% and there are times I retarget it and it's down to the single digits.
it's actually really good, my 2nd pug run of ISE was my fastest ever, I think we finished with 7min left on the clock and it could have been faster as through some if it I was stunned at how fast it was going. Even with my initial setup I had just thrown together. I find it manovers well enough to use dual cannons.
dont know if the console that comes with it is any good I haven't found a use for it yet in combat.
I'm also only 5 days away from tier 5 Romulan when I think I can get the elite scorps. Was thinking one flight of these and one fight of the advanced slavers from the dilith store and basically sell the contraband for EC, I find EC much harder to earn than Dilith.

so 2 "turn in contraband" boff missions @ 2000+ dil per mish = 4000 dil every two hours of game play.
each hanger costs about 7.5 hours of gameplay. the rest is gravy.

wonder if there is going to be a Fleet Kar'Fi?
