Almost all we see in the forums these days are people complaining - yes there is alot to complain about, but there is also things to be happy about and give credit for. I have played sto since beta and I can garantee that if it wasn't for a fun pvp experience in this game, me and pretty much all of my ingame friends would have stopped playing sto along time ago (and stopped paying).

So all in all I would like to congratulate Cryptic on a fun pvp experience and a good job. That beiing said - you still have alot that needs to be done to pvp, but I'm sure that if you guys focus on what makes the current (and past) pvp experience good and dedicate ressourses towards giving pvp some much needed love - I believe you guys will be able to silence the crying in the forums.

you must be new around here.

most of the bad feelings is from the YEARS of negelect and broken promises. Give it time, you'll be as bitter as the rest of us :)

    enjoy pvp while you can.

I guess the PvP development could be described as following:

"who doesn't do anything does not break anything"
"Cryptic Studio’s Jack Emmert (2010): Microtransactions are the biggest bunch of nonsense. I like paying one fee and not worrying about it – like my cellphone. The world’s biggest MMO isn’t item based, even though the black market item GDP is bigger than Russia … microtransactions make me want to die.”

I agree, however people come to the forums to complain about something they don't like, if they are enjoying the game they don't really come here unless its to pick up new tips or to check on patch notes (why I am here). :)

But I +1 (no I don't use google social networking site thing, its just quick and easy to write it like that) the Good Job Cryptic statement, they have done a great job outside of PvP and STO PvP really is still awesome if you pair and fight a good team that dosen't use cheesy stuff.

Yes yes - laugh of me all you want, but if you are a veteran sto pvp'er you'l know what I'm talking about (give it some time it will come to you :P). Yes the pvp has alot of flaws - broken mechanics/boffs and yes we have been neglected (mostly) from day one and none of the promises ever came trough (mostly).

If you are still not convinced. Ask yourself this question If sto didn't have pvp would you still be playing activly? if yes then good for you, if no - then you just realised my point.

So good job to cryptic for what they have done rigth with pvp, but a reminder that we are getting tired of broken stuff and empty promises.

except cryptic. they tend to do all the breaky things with non of the attempted added content for pvp.

Which is a massive catch 22. There would be a bigger playerbase there if they did anything to improve pvp

    Sad really

    i call bs.

thats the "excuse" theyve given us before but its also THEIR fault the pvp player base is so low.

thats like offering a hungry kid a bag of empty cheetos and telling him he should have taken his time in eating them.

they need to endorse pvp, they need to hold pvp events (not just shuttle wars) they need to make things FOR pvp, not just consider it half-assed after the fact when they release something "cool" for pve....

but they wont. history is constantly repeating itself with this game and pvp. i look forward to the next broken gimmik introduced to this game (ie the romulans and all their BS)

Where is the money in fixing pvp?

A very small minority of people playing STO dare into PVP content, so polishing that system under Cryptic philosophy will not generate revenue. Nevermind their 'if you build it they will come' philosophy they spew during Neverwinter interviews, fixing pvp and making it awesome will not encourage people to spend more money.

i actually think thats not true.

they could easily monetize pvp if they wanted to.

    theyve monetized everything else.

It's a vicious cycle. Because there is no development, fewer people enter PvP. Because of that, PvP development profitability drops. Because of that, development is cut back even further. And so the cycle goes down and down.....

PvP in its own right isnt broken, certain game mechanics are.

The problem with PvP is there is no incentive to do so. The ones like me that do, is because we enjoy a real challenge (unlike almost all STO PvE).

Give more incentive to PvP, and I can guarantee you the amount of players that will partake in PvP will dramatically increase.

    -PvP Rep System
    -PvP Drops/Gear
    -PvP Leaderboards
    -Custom/New PvP maps
    -Custom PvP Ques (1v1,2v2 etc)

the list goes on and on.

How many more Seasons need to pass where we were promised PvP revamp but gets bump to the "Next" season, and then again to the next. What happened to the major overhaul that was supposed to happen in Season 6? Now with new rommy race, the PvP revamp, level 60 cap and mk 13/14 gear not scheduled to Season 9..which Im sure will be bumped to 10 and so forth.
