Even if you aren't playing a Romulan, you could help them (us) level up on your Fed or KDF toon once they pick their faction. Since you can play their missions, that'll give you plenty of content.
now that is music to the federation's ears. quack quack. we love content. we love making federation better. its ok to make a romulan, Klingon, and any other alien you think of, but feds need content to keep us interested in playing.
I love the look of all the new Romulan and KDF story content we'll be getting on the 21st, but I do always hope that at some point (maybe Season 8, who knows?) we will get some more story episodes that follow on from the current final episode, 'A Light In The Dark'. It ends on a pretty big cliffhanger, so I really hope there's some resolution to the plot points raised there in the future!

This character is why I don't play my Romulan any more. Tovan Khev is NOT my BFF! Get him off my bridge!
There is no dispute that LOR comes with a great deal of additional story content. The fact that you don't like it or don't think there's enough of it does not create "confusion" and is not a "miscommunication".
There isn't a new Featured Episode. So the suggestion that the game is returning to the heady days of regular featured episodes? That's not happening.
they evolved -- what was once "Season 8" and "focusing on Feature Episodes" evolved into "an expansion (Legacy of Romulus)" and "a brand new faction, numerous story arcs for them, new arcs for KDF/Fed, and everything else listed here."
That's not an evolution. Featured Episodes are pretty specific content. Popular content. And for those of us who are fans of that content, this "evolution" isn't a return to big story telling.
This isn't a knock on the expansion. It's just trying to point out that featured episodes are a completely different animal. And the game isn't returning to those with LoR.
It's like saying Diplomacy evolved. Into the DOFF system. But it didn't. They're very different.
So in a Romulan-themed release you wanted more Federation end-game stuff?
You know one of the best featured episodes in the game is Romulan themed right?
People who want a "return" to story ... a return to regular FEs ... they just want you know, more Featured Episodes. Because they're one of the few things that make this game stand out (to clarify ... as awesome as anyone may think the Omega Reputation Grind is, it's a feature that can be found in almost any other MMO out there ... but FEs can't). They're the kind of content that make the game worth playing. They're little adventures in the Star Trek Universe. They incorporate dialog, puzzles, combat, ground, space, and every aspect of gameplay into something engaging. They give you a sense of forward momentum for your character. They give out special rewards that years later people still talk about or use. They're really the key thing that makes STO have a chance to beat the pants off of so many other MMOs out there.
So the desire to return to getting that kind of content regularly? It's a win-win for everyone.
The expansion looks great. And there's a ton of good things to say about the expansion.
But let's not lose sight of how amazing FEs are. And you know get that point across to the devs. MORE PLZ.
I think there might be some confusion We spoke about a one-off Feature Episode -- that was Temporal Ambassador.
Confusion Indeed. I (and apparently, a few others (having seen some replies in this thread)) was under the impression there was an FE Series coming in May too).
Still, thanks for clearing it up. At least the question has been answered.
Whilst I'm here Bran, could I throw a question your way (in regard to FE series)? Something that I've mentioned in another thread already, but is there any reason why we've never have a Cardassian FE Series, and with that, a unique Cardassian Boff? ~ we've got Breen, Jem Hadar & Reman for all factions, but no Cardassian. Just curious as to why (if there is even a reason). Thanks!
I don't know what people are complaining about, I've been playing in the closed beta and I've played at least 18 brand new Romulan missions, this isn't even all of the new missions as well.
I really hope you all are not disappointed by this -- I think most will agree that Legacy of Romulus is a big return to story, and extends well beyond "at least one new series at launch of S8 and maybe even more than that". It really is going to be a great summer for STO.
Considering I was one of the naysayers, I'm actually looking forward to LoR. I haven't played the Beta, and I'm not on Tribble, but everything I've seen looks awesome. I also eagerly look forward to Season 8 (hopefully with a customizable Cardassian Bridge Officer).

You make it sound like the new LoR missions lack all of that.
Which I can assure you, as a closed beta player, is wrong, the missions LoR brings are as good as, if not much better, then previous FE's.
I am expecting playable Romulan Faction, not playable romulan species on Fed/KDF side
That new content is nothing for me ,I am not going to play as fed/kdf romulan on live server.
LoR should to be about rebuilding Romulan Star Empire, liberating Donatra from borg collective ,confronting Sela & madness of Tal Shiar, claiming Vulcan as new romulan homeworld...

Kthxbai.
The rest of us will enjoy it quite well.
Don't get me wrong, I do think some things after allying can be better, like Romulan unique STF visuals and such and other things that could be Romulan unique rather then allied based, but to say the Romulans aren't their own faction is going too far.
Not sure if it was mentioned, but everyone (fed/KDF/rom) will have a new set of episodes, the nimbus episodes.
I don't think they'll be related to the major story arc of STO, but the 2400 wasn't either.
However, according to "on screen 2", it seems we'll deal with Sela's disappearance (and her whereabout) if we are Romulan.

Why wouldn't you be able to play the Romulan missions? On 21/05/13 everyone will be able to.
