Can't customize Fleet Excelsior

whamhammer1whamhammer1 Member Posts: 2,290 Arc User
Hello all,

Yesterday, I bough my Fleet Excelsior and customized its appearance like I have every other ship. It appeared that it was successful until I went in space and saw that it still had the Fleet Appearance. Rinse lather repeat ten times, still nothing. Anyone else having this problem?

I can't even customize my basic Ki'Tang I got for achieving level 30, didn't have this problem with my fed character or even my first Kling ship.

I didn't to be honest - have had my Fleet Excelsior for a few weeks now (purchased on day of release) and use the type-2 skin on it (as, personally, prefer the look of the deflector).

So if you use the type two skin that means you altered it. I'd really like to know why I cant do it.

Stupid question, but you're hitting "Purchase" not "Save", right?

If you're running the MACO set ship Shield on your ship - disable the visuals on it (the enabled visuals of the shield make your ship look a certain way REGARDLESS of what you do in the ship tailor - I was going nuts for about a week after I first got the shield.)

If you're not using the MACO ship shield, and still have this issue, I don't know what tom tell you then.

I am running the Omega Shield at the moment, and the visuals are disabled. I've even tried changing the appearance of my T5 Excel, and that one works fine.

I've put a ticket in for each day its not fixed, still no response from Cryptic, is this their week off?

It's now been two weeks, countless tickets and no response from Cryptic, what gives???? This is really annoying. I believe that some acknowledgement from Cryptic staff would at least make me feel like they give a darn. There should be no way that they can be so backlogged that they are behind by two weeks on reading tickets!

Having this same problem with a Fleet Tactical Escort Retrofit. When I first bought I cahnged only the color scheme and that works, but cannot change anything since, even cannot change the color scheme back. Have tested with a few friends and those who have a z-store version of the TER indeed CAN change the skins colors etc., but no-one who only owns the fleet ship can change it.

Just to be sure, visited a friends starbase which has a ship tailor unlocked and could not customize there either.

Yeah, I couldn't do anything from the first moment I got my ship. They say that QA is looking at it, but I haven't heard anything at all, and it was handed over two weeks ago. I am thinking that the QA department is probably in a trash compactor out in the back of Cryptics HQ. :(

It's been a month now and no resolution to the problem, filed yet another bug report,
    # 1,470,732 to highlight the problem to Cryptic, only thing I've heard from Cryptic is that it was handed to QA two weeks ago and then nothing more. Come on Cryptic, you can do better!!!!!

I submitted a ticket, and I did get a response. It basically was an acknowledgement that they received my ticket and would get back to asap. It sat there for about a week (maybe two), then just disappeared. What the heck is the point of writing tickets of we're just going to be ignored? To pacify us into thinking that they give a damn, just long enough so that we might give them more of our money?

I understand your feelings on the issue. My original ticket for customization problems for my Fleet Excelsior was submitted in January, and still haven't heard anything from them since it was sent to QA in February, so I am now working on month number five.

I had a similar problem with my Fleet Flight Deck Cruiser that I would have to pay an additional 1500 zen to unlock customization after just plunking down 2000 zen for the fleet ship modules. Got the generic response, then a gm response that basically said there wasn't any problem and sent me to the support page if I wanted to continue with support. The support page has given me, and several people I asked to double check to make sure it wasn't just me, a link redirect error on all three browsers I tried it on: Chrome (my main), Firefox and even the useless IE.

At the time I wasn't able to post on the forums because, even though I've been a lifetime subber since launch; I'm still considered a new member on the forums for some reason. Don't like the way things are handled with the game nowadays, especially support; it just feels like your concerns are beneath their notice most of the times.

I actually own the T5 Excel, which has access to both of the earlier skins. Changing skins shouldn't be a problem for me. Of course, its a moot point since the Cryptic QA refuses to update any status with me over the last half of a year. I wish Cryptic members that passed by this thread would check in on QA for me to loet me know what is going on.

I've had a very similar problem; I received an Ambassador-class ship and changed a few items superficially. The most notable one being the name of the ship and the registry. Whilst the ship name changes when it is being referred to by one of the characters or on the tactical display, the actual decal on the ship still reads the old name. It's quite frustrating. It would be good to get a resolution, although based on the responses to this topic I'm guessing it'll be a while, if at all.

I agree. I don't know why they don't respond. It seems to me that their QA dept takes the form of a wastebasket. I would like to have them prove me wrong, but holding ones breath may prove unhealthy.

Hello, I have just got back to game, digged my old account and guess what. I can not modify my Excelsior skin. Any idea how to fix it? I am not in a fleet, I just want to customize that damn ship. I really expected more after getting back to the game.
